Well, I bought this blouse last Friday and was in a hurry so I didn't fit it, and now I just realized the the turtleneck blouse is not fitted to my neck!!!!I hate it, it looks really funny and I know I have to alter the blouse....shucks, I feel so stupid for purchasing something that doesn't fit right!!!
Did you ever do the same mistake I did??

There are times that we are really in the rush and since it looks similar to the previous item that I bought, I dont fit when shopping clothes anymore. There are also times when I really like this one item and I would still buy it even if it does not fit me, in hope that someday, it will fit me! :)

Hi, marapplestiffy....My weight has fluctuated so wildly over the past 3 yrs that I don't dare buy clothing without trying on first. In the distant past, I was always able to estimate my size from the last things I had bought. But not anymore. If it fit 2yrs ago it's probably too big for me now.

Oh yes! I have made that mistake a few times! Nowadays I try everything on to ensure it fits before I buy it or if I cannot be bothered checking to see if it fits I make sure that I purchase it from a department store that will allow me to return the item without a problem. It is very disappointing when you like something only to discover it doesn’t fit or look the way you want it to. Are you able to return the blouse?

I always have to fit into my clothing, else I'd be wasting money. :-p But man, my husband never goes into the fitting rooms, he's funny that way. I get so mad at him especially when he gets them from those bargain stores that don't allow exchanges or refunds. I never did find out why he doesn't like the fitting rooms, he just simply says that he doesn't like them.

I would always want to try them on first as not all styles fit quite the same. When I shop at a store I usually get 3 items of the same to try on. One size under, the right size and one size up this way I do not have to go back, forth and undress, redress.
I do not like to order clothing through mail order as one time I did and the exchange process was ridiculous as for some reason the item was way over sized then the normal size.

I did buy a blouse that my office mate offered me. I chose it from a brochure. When it arrived it was not the quality of cloth i had perceived it to have. It also was a bit big for me. Good thing, they accepted it when i had it returned and didn't buy it.
I never will shop for clothes or footwears on brochure or not having fit it anymore!

Yes, I did buy clothes without fitting it first at the store. But I do fit it at home immediately if I could, if not after a day or two. You can return merchandise in most stores here within seven days as long as the tag is still attached together with the receipt.

I do that occasionally, though there are certain things I would never buy without trying it on first, ie bras, jeans, dresses...

I really can't buy clothes online or without trying them on and knowing how they fit. Because for me, a lot of stuff LOOKS like it will fit right and looks really cute...until I put it on and it looks stupid or doesn't 'help out' my good qualities. LOL. Know what I mean? I hope whatever you bought is returnable.

Oh, how i hate when that happens, particularly if it an article of clothing that is on the more expensive side. I am a bargain shopper, so if i am going to actually pay full price for something because i realllly like it, i always make sure it fits me right first.
Though, because i am a bargain shopper, sometimes if i find something that is wicked cute but isn't quite the right size, or fits kind of funny in one place of another, yet it is at a super cheap price, i have been known to go ahead and buy it and make the alterations at home. But i would never pay full price for something that doesn't fit me perfectly from the get go.
I would have to say the one thing i have had this problem with the most though is shoes. I see a rack of shoes on sale and get all excited going through them, find ones in my size for only a few bucks a pair, and pick them up with out trying them on, then i get them home and find out they are very uncomfortable on my feet and i will never be able to wear them. Makes me so mad, even though it was only a couple of dollars spent!

Trying something on in the fitting room is often a wise decision to make. After we see how something fits or doesn't, a better decision can be made in purchasing something to wear. it can save a little time and effort if we just check it out first.

I've made that mistake plenty of times over the years! Anymore, I don't buy any clothing without trying it on first. If I buy a blouse, if the chest area fits, the sleeves are too short and is about an inch and a half above my wrist. If I buy the medium instead, and it has a v-neck, it's too low in front. Dresses are a problem too, the size that fits me will have a waist too high (guess I'm long waisted.) I used to alter all the time, but found it's just plain easier to skip it if it doesn't fit right when I try it on lol.
Ever notice too how women's clothing isn't ever in a standard size?! I'm petite and weigh 100#, I have clothes that are a 1, a 7, and even a couple things that are a 10! I'm not sure, but I think they have different standards in different countries that often make them. I really wish that clothing manufacturers would stick to the same sizing and come up with a universal clothing chart. I buy men's jeans for working around outside because they go by waist and inseam and actually fit better than the women's jeans.

I fit clothes first before buying them.that way,I wouldn't waste my money on buying something that I wouldn't use.if I like a certain clothing but it doesn't fit me well,I asked my tailor to have it altered.that's why it takes me some time to shop.I fit a lot of items first before narrowing my choice to items that I would really buy.

yes,I have the same experience, once I bought a coat on the internet, there is no chance to fit it,but I referenced it's size on the internet, accroding the size, this should suit to me.But when the coat arrived, I feit so depress,it was small to me.
Then I decide not to buy clothes on the internet.

I am a victim to that folly many times. I believe that we have a certain perception for our size or body type but what we sometimes forget is that our body changes over time...It may be due to the yuletide seasons over indulging or even illnesses. We then assume that we still have the same size or shape.I believe that it is best to try your clothes before buying them because it saves you time and effort and most of all the frustrations that you look terrible and feel awful with what you have brought home. This really frustrates me especially when i need the outfit for an event immediately and i do not have anything else new to wear because of what i have done.So lesson learned, never leave the store before trying on what you just paid a hefty amount for.
