I made a fool of myself on myLot yesterday

I just saw a discussion which caught my fancy. It said that the creator of the discussion had found that his wife was cheating on him. That is the only discussion that he has started on myLot, and can you imagine - it has more than 500 responses to it. Even i post a response, only to know that the discussion was started 5 years back and the last response to it was 4 years ago!

Don'r consider yourself as such. That's the main reason why we are not allowed to repeat discussions and instead we are encourage to research first before posting a discussion to avoid that discussion from deletion. You have to realize that there are members here who are still active from the time this site opened until today so if the person who started that discussion is still active then there's a chance that he or she will reply to your post.

Now the waiting begins on whether or not the person who started that discussion is till using that name or has made a new one or has left the site already. There was a time when I search for discussions that were started years back hoping that I'd get a reply but sadly most of those discussions no longer get responded back which means that the poster is no longer active. But there still discussions that up to this day still keeps receiving comments.

I actually did that on purpose several times. And I received a couple of comments on some very old discussions of mine, which brought forgotten topics back to life and it felt good.

Now why would you be the fool? After so many responses and so much time passing I feel that the fool is the person who started the topic because they never got back and informed us of the outcome. Maybe your response will waken them and they will let us know if all is well or whether they moved on and started all over again. The possibilities are endless! Recently I have seen many old discussions coming back to life and I have responded on some of them too. I enjoy reading what were considered as problems then and comparing them with those that we have nowadays

Haha, the same happens to us all the time. There are many users in MyLot, but only a small percentage is active. The others were attracted to register because they wanted to earn, but they eventually left for higher-paying sites. That's why you see these threads so old, made by users with one or two posts.

hi Thank you for the reply. But what i feel is that such old threads should be deleted.

You had a voice and you need to get it out. There's nothing wrong with that. So what if it is 10 years ago...someone else with the need for the information might walk in another 10 years from now, and thank you.

Gosh, I hope he has resolved the situation by now. lol I've not only been in old discussions, but I've sometimes replied to old discussions that I had already replied to. No big deal.

That is normal , dear. So don't think and consider yourself as a fool because you are not. Tell you what ? I experienced the same thing. I happened to read a post and responded to it. Then, when I read some of the responses, I saw one that really caught my attention so I checked that user's profile and read the discussion she started. There was a certain post sharing her illicit affair with a co user, it happened that I know the said user so I responded (I was well aware that she started her discussion a year ago) without expecting her to comment to my response. But, she did! It shed light and my curiosity has been satiated.

It happened with me too. I never bother to check when was a discussion started, as long as I like the discussion I would respond on it. I guess I should check in future.

Hi Yes, sometimes the topic of discussion is so exciting that you tend to ignore all other details about that discussion.

You didn't notice the sign that says it was made 5 years ago? Maybe you were so excited about the topic. But really? 500 responses? That's maybe the discussion that got the highest discussion.

Yeah it was the topic that caught my attention, and also the fact that there were over 500 responses really made me overlook the fact that the discussion was started 5 years ago.

That is sad. Maybe, he quite mylot after finding out his wife cheated on him. That is wild how much responses he got. If he didn't reply to them and just gave that discussion. He might be surprised if he comes back on how much money he made from one discussion.

Well if you have ever truly been on the dating scene than I'm sure that subject has been on your mind a couple times. No shame in that. Its a serious but true discussion. I'm sure its on the minds of a lot more people than we realize too.

H Yes, it was the seriousness of the topic of discussion that attracted me to the discussion. One has to just imagine himself in that situation to understand gravity of the situation.
