Have you ever woke up from a nap feeling worse?

All the time? I don't think I've ever waken up from a nap feeling any better (which is why I try to avoid them). I think it has something to do with REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement). Supposedly, it takes a while for you to actually getting to where you are getting real sleep. So if it is just a little nap, I don't think it really does anything.

Hiya mark,
Me I try to avoid quick naps too if I am not relaxed enough as I can wake up feeling irritable as well.
I believe there is a technique for you to be able to quick nap and get all the benefit out of it. I would like to know how they do it as well.
I have tried to just rest more instead seems to work better for me too.
But if you can do it then that´s great for you.

I agree with you. If I even fall asleep I usually end up waking even more tired then when I laid down. So if I"m going to feel more tired than I did before why would I want to lay down? Just drink something caffinated and go that route if you feel sleepy.

No, I usually feel lots better after I take naps, I remember when I was pregnant, I took lots of naps everyday but never enough. I was so into napping and sleeping. That was the other time I didn't feel better after napping because I just wanted to sleep all the time due to the tireness of carrying a baby.
Even though I am tired these days taking care of my baby, I don't nap at all because I won't be able to fall asleep at night if I nap during the day.

I traditionally do not take naps..very seldom have I ever taken a nap. I have tried to get a quick nap in the afternoon, but it just never worked for me. Apparently, those little "cat naps" are suppose to be energizing, but I can't help but think they would make me feel even more tired than what I already am..so I usually don't even try to take a nap. They might work for some, but they do not work for me. I would never be able to survive in Mexico!!

I feel more tired after I talk naps. Not sure why exactly, you would think it would be the other way around.

Most of the time, I get good naps at lunch break. There are just instances when I get a nap and feel worse afterwards - when I nap in an awkward position, my body hurts, or when I had only a few hours sleep the night before, and I nap less than 10 minutes, or when my nap gets interrupted by some reasons other than I've had enough nap. I mean, my body determines how much nap I need, like I could have a power nap as short as 5 minutes, as long as I wake up naturally (no alarms, or no one waking me up). However, even if I've been napping for 30 minutes already, if my body is not yet up to waking, and somebody wakes me up, I'd have a terrible headache afterwards.

If I can't sleep, a nap will make me feel better. I think I'm used to have it while having break from working. A little nap between breaks makes me feel good. I think it all depends in one's sleeping pattern. If it does not make you feel any better, try to avoid it. But you must have a complete sleep or rest needed to keep the body well-functioning!

Last weekend I did. I was having a terrible head ache and my nape was aching. I thought my blood pressure was high so I took a nap hoping it will be gone when I wake up. And guess what, it got worse. hahaha... My shoulders were a bit numb and the pain is still there.
