My country experiencing one of strongest winters in the past few years so we must protect ourselves from illness and we do so in many different ways. Also epidemic flu now is everywhere, so the only options to try to not get this illness is garlic. Lets talk more about it. Garlic smells strange, bites in the neck, but is the only thing that i am 100% sure it protects my health. When i feel garlic taste in my mouth i already know that it kills dozens of microbes. So why then to not let my mouth a little bit suffer somewhat while i am eating garlic!? What a point of that? This winter i am not getting ill while 50% around are ill with flu epidemic. I have less runny nose and i feel my self more comfortable, just garlic needs special care and procedure of eating it. My advice would be to eat it only at evenings and drink plenty of water after that. Brush your teeth and take a chewing gum so that people around doesn't know that you eat garlic. Take care ;)

yes, garlic is a medicinal vegetable. My husband and i are so fond of eating garlic. I would even roast garlic and eat them as it is. We find it so delicious. We also would crush garlic in our vinegar in which we dip our fish. We find garlic a very healthy aid to life.

One more thing about which i forgot to mention in my discussion. There is different types of garlics. In my country there are two of them - white (chinese) and a little bit pink (latvian) garlic. Which one is stronger, better i dont know yet, but i eat all of them. ;)

I love garlic. Have been using it for many years. I start my cooking projects with garlic, onion and mushrooms sauteed in olive oil and go from there. Also take a garlic supplement daily. I'm not going to stop using garlic. A simple mouthwash and tooth brush will take care of any lingering garlic breath. I'm fairly healthy but don't know if the many years of garlic use has that much to do with it. I also take the Omega 3 and a multivitamin daily and try to eat healthy when I eat. I haven't had a cold, runny nose, etc. for a few years.

Garlic is known as a natural antibiotic, it cures you without shutting down you immunity system, like other quimical antibiotic does. Also honey works like a natural antibiotic (diabetics have to be carefull!) and honey mixed with eucalyptus is good for breathing problems like bronquitis.

You are 100% correct! In my family we do it this way: I am eating full one garlic segment. The we take next garlic segment and split it into two parts - one 70%, another 30% by size. My oldest son takes biggest part of split garlic. We both eat it and drink much water after that. Then i take small spoon, crush smallest part of split garlic and mix it with honey. My youngest son eat it. :)

I know of garlic's antibiotic property, but what most people don't know is that garlic also controls high blood pressure when it spikes up. That's what I let my dad take when his BP is up. Same desired effect, less side effects than commercial medications. =]
