Tagging? how important is it?

I add that if you tag correctly your discussion will appear over there in the 'similar topics' causing it to receive more activity ---
Keep with popular tags that are relative to the topic (and no usernames 
)

jasper great responses by many of the members, after reviewing them all I just wanted to add that another reason for tagging is that it will avoid duplicate and or similar discussions.
Many members search the toolbar and say it does not function as their discussion was deleted, but they did a search and there were no similar and or duplicate discussions.
What they do not realize is that when members do not tag, the search bar cannot find. hehehe.. pretty simple.

Ok thanks for your comments you have added another reason why we really all should be tagging.I guess mostly everyone does already, i just wanted to know thats all.Thanks...

Hi jasper: I think it's a good habitude to put some tags to your discussion. This makes easy for the other users to search for them and also, people that have responded to similar discussions will find your discussion easier.

It is not necessary to tag your discussion or responses.
However, tagging helps people find your discussion or your responses easily. When a member searched for a discussion with some keywords, the search engine will search the tags and bring up the discussions which has the keywords tagged to them.

Oh right!, thanks i wanted to know if you had to thats all. It makes more sense to tag, so thats what i will do.I used to tag when i made a disscussion not after responding so much. :)

You know previouly I encountered here that they want to request admind to remove the tagging even though they know the importance of tagging. Some says waste of time, some are says not necessary but if you realized it is important for indexing and as other mylotter says if good tagging your topic will be active. However there is an option there to skip tagging if you don't want, since then I never skip to put tag... see you around
