Sherlock Died

My parents came over a little while ago. I had a migraine, so my dad told me to leave the dog at their house for the night. A couple hours later my parents show up at my door. My dad comes in with tears in his eyes. Sherlock got hit by a car. Sherlock's dead. Some of you may know me well enough to know he was my baby, my joy in life.
I guess the best way to describe how I handled it was that I wept. I just feel horrible for my dad too. He loved that dog. With my mom's dementia, he seemed to take a lot of comfort from Sherlock's visits. But now Sherlock is gone.
Please keep us in your prayers. And for those who don't understand how much pets can mean to a person, please don't leave any disparing remarks.

There are a lot of us who realize what you are going through. I have been there several times and am truly sorry for your loss. People who do not have 4 legged kids do not understand. Your photo of Sherlock is really cute. It will take some time for you to mourn and I know you have the support of your dad. God bless.

Oh my poor Amber, I am so terribly sorry about Sherlock. I do
know how much you loved him. I know what it means to lose a
"baby", as I know Sherlock was your very special baby. I hurt
for you so much. He is on "Rainbow Bridge" with all the other
"babies" that us mylotters have lost. If you don't know about
"Rainbow Bridge" when you feel better read about it. If there
is anything I can do, please let me know-if you want to talk,
anything. My heart breaks for you, hon. I love you...And Sherlock
loves you too.

I am so sorry your little Sherlock is gone. Will say a prayer for you, your dad and Sherlock. It's just so difficult to lose a good pet. Sherlock left knowing he was loved. Am sure your dad is struggling as well. I am a pet lover so I can really feel your pain.

Hi Sweetheart! I was taking a wee bit of a break from the lot, and I just got back and saw this discussion. I am SO sorry for your loss. I completely understand how much a pet can mean to a person and I will keep you all in my prayers.

Oh AmbiePam I'm in shock to hear this and so sorry for the loss of your baby. You know me well enough that I know all too well how our pets mean to us--It's 10 months since my Pyewacket passed on and I'm still not over it. My prayers go to you during this time.

Oh I'm so sorry! That is horrible! I have a dog that I absolutely love and I don't know what we would do if anything ever happened to her! I am so sorry for your loss. I also feel your pain with those migraines. Good luck with that as well!

Oh Amber I am so sorry for your loss. I will definitely put you all in my prayers, as it has to be very difficult. I am so sorry to hear also that your dad is so hurt.

Amber, sorry if you receive this twice. It doesn't seem to have printed the first time. I am very sorry about the loss of your dog. I can see that he is a very special one. Honey, I really know how you must be feeling. I lost my cat this past October and it was very sad. Well, I'm sure your dog had a wonderful life since he probably enjoyed all of you very much specially you. Accidents happen ,and this is very common when it comes to dogs ,and it happens so fast that is very hard for anyone to prevent this. May the Lord be with you at this difficult time.

oh my. what a little darling he was. people just dont drive careful enough. im so sorry he got out. i know how you feel. our furbabies are part of our family and ive lost to many. so i know how terrible it is.

I was just looking at the lovely Photo of Sherlock. It has moved me very much reading this. I am so sorry for you and your Dad too and your Mom.
I have lost Dogs too and they were like People to me so I can say I know how it feels.
Again I don´t really know what to say except I feel for your loss.

This is terrible news! I imagine how much you all must suffer. When they live they take a piece of our hearts with them. Too sad he must leave so soon.
I won't tell you the sorrow will pass, you know better that Sherlock will have a special place in your heart and every memory of him will still hurt for years.
I'll keep you in your prayers.
