I finally woke up

Yesterday I took a big step and unsecribed to all my survey sites. It finally dawned on me that for years I have taken these surveys and realized no finance increase for my time. These requests just grew and grew and pretty soon I was feeling pressure for not being able to get them all done in a day. Then I pulled back and saw that they were for me nothing but a waste of my time, time I would much rather spend on mylot. Do you get sucked into habits like this. I'll bet it doesn't take you years to realize it and change.

Well I've had the opposite and realised how much I can earn from surveys and I've earned a fair bit of money since last October/ November. I know I'll earn far more on survey sites than I ever will on mylot unless I manage to get some referrals. I know still quite new to mylot but I'm a newbie to online earning.

It's nice to know some of you are getting benefits from these sites

They are definitely not for everyone that's for sure but they're always worth a go at least initially to see if their in your best interest.

I don't agree, you can count your blessings because you have not wasted your time on something that earns you little or nothing or gotten disqualified half way through. You can use your time to find a better way to earn.

I have unsubscribed, then gotten sucked back into them a few times. I have other sites that send me surveys, but I get points even if I do not qualify for the surveys, so I leave them there. I think what helped was that another person here pointed out that we have to give them so much information that they have it, then they conveniently tell us that we do not match the demographics. They are getting what they want for free.

I am not one for web sites survey that pays, but like many users have said, it does work. In my opinion, it all depends on WHICH survey site you are a member of. before I join any site that promises me the earth, sea and sku in free cash, I research that website first to see what people are syaing about it. If the reviews are not that good, I do not join them after all hundreds of people can't be wrong if they are hundreds of negative reviews.

Lol!!! Been there done that. Iam puzzled my those few that claim to be making alot by doing that. Dang!!! Give us some legit sites then. They cant even do that. I believe exactly 2 times i recieve $1. checks. Lol!!! It was impossable. Just a big waste of time. I even paid $39. for a big list of stuff that never worked out. The so called money earned didnt even pay for the list. The most i ever made on a survey was when i was walking through a mall and was stopped by a cereal surveyer. It was so long ago i cant even tell you how much i was.

I really haven't been doing surveys on a regular basis for a while now because it seemed like I took a lot more time trying to qualify to get into the surveys than what I was able to get out of them. That said, I do find that there are a lot of times that I get sucked into something and it does take me quite some time to realize that I am wasting my time before I am able to pull myself out of that thing that is sucking my time. Facebook is a great example in my life.

I still do them. I am able to do most of my Christmas shopping that way. I have some that I pay more attention to than others.

I haven't unsubscribed yet, but I might. I do get a lot of requests, but lately I have just been deleting them because I don't have time to look at them. I do sometimes open them and find that I am screened out after the first few questions. Now I generally just ignore the invitations I get.

I too have been doing these surveys for years. Your words do give me pause however. I've supposedly been entered in hundreds of sweepstakes and chances for 'prize' monies. I've never won anything nor do I know anyone who has. I just completed two more of 'em yesterday to win points. I'm sure you know how long it takes to build up enough points to cash out. I should live so long!!!! Lately it seems like my participation has been denied after entering my demographic data. In other words, I'm too old to be in their target population. You make good points and I will seriously consider unsubscribing. It will not only save me time but cut down on my email load as well. Thanks.

That is perhaps the most important thing done! Now you will have time to search for other avenues of earning and earn some real money. Tack care not to fall for scams. Best of luck!

I think that at the beginning of signing up to sites we all force ourselves to get things done, the rewards look great. As a lot of time passes we find that we are having way too much to do and that the rewards weren't as good as what they once was. I will be honest and say that there are quite a few survey sites that i am with that pay far far better than mylot, but it isn't always about the money, mylot is a great site that offers more in other ways than what some other sites do. The money we receive is just a bonus. I was with many many sites and over the past few month i have gotten rid of a load as i am just unable to keep up with it all. I just make sure that i get to the minimum of what is needed, request my reward and then leave the site. I was so very very tired with all the work i was having to do online and found that many of the sites just weren't worth my time at all for the rewards that some of them offered. I would rather put my health first instead of being so tired and worn down daily as i was trying to do way too much. Now luckily i feel better as my workload online has cut down drastically.

So I am not the only one that can not make money on surveys! I spend my time answering their "preliminary"questions,to get the; sorry you do not qualify message. probably because I am retired they think that we are not alive anymore!!!!I do not understand, why do they not send the right surveys, since they have our data and preferences when we register!!!

Hi savy, interest do change too. Before I was hooked up with these kinds of money earning stuff but grew tired of it. Also surveys are becoming less specially for non-US residents. Hope you won't get tired sharing your thought on myLot.

I stopped doing survey sites some time ago as I never seem to qualify. Good luck to you and good for you for focusing more closely on things that are paying you.

Quite understandable savypat, as unless we try something we truly do not know if it is going to work for us or not. But like you I do give it my all then finally come to the conclusion that it can be a waste of time and so stressful. I only do two sites but only because so far I am benefiting from them, but you betcha if I start to notice that it is over weighing my time and no benefits, I too will let those go. Glad you have more time here, as it is a great place to interact with great members.

I haven't tried survey sites, hmm so I don't know how you feel! But I do understand what you're saying, the best thing to do for yourself if you really want to increase your finances though would be to look into a career, I think when you do things like mylot and surveys its just for fun and something to do with spare time but nothing to get filthy 'rich' off of.
