We generally use the word "stress" when we feel that everything seems to have become too much, were we could not longer cope with the pressure placed upon us. Whenever I am stress I have difficulty sleeping, I have lack of appetite, and difficulty concentrating. Before, I always encounter stress in school, when deadlines are fast approaching. And now, the pressure being encountered in my new work. So how do you deal with stress? Are there any techniques or strategies you can share for dealing stress? Hope to hear your suggestions.

Hi yobkhan, Welcome to mylot family. The best way to relieve your stress is by doing 'shavasan', one of the yogic asanas. Shav is corpse lying like a corpse is 'shavasan'. You have to lie down on the bare floor on your back fully relaxed. Feet apart and Hands placed near your body without giving any stress to any part of your body. Eyes closed. You have to then concentrate on each part of your body one by one starting from the fingers of your foot and consider it to be non existent as if detached from your body. You should lie down in that condition and visualize yourself to be in beautiful surroundings you had been before. In about 20-30 minutes you should come out of this asana slowly. Remember not to go to sleep. You will feel most relaxed after this asana.

I love sports, maybe I'm thinking too much about my studies and work, that i forgot about working out. Though I have no really time for it, I'll make sure I could include it in my schedule. Thank you for the advice. Bless you!

I used to suffer with stress myself and I had to get out of the environment that was causing me to suffer with this condition. I am far more relaxed now and feel better for it. There are certain things that will definitely help with stress if you apply them on a regular basis. For me this is meditation and I practise this on a daily basis and I find it very relaxing, it helps me to forget things for that half hour or so. It works for me and I will never give up this practise! I actually listen to meditation cds and they help to put me in the state so to speak! I obviously love to read as well, I read a lot and I find this very relaxing too. You can escape into a good book and forget about the world around you for a short duration. We are all different and you will have your personal likes and dislikes about different things. If you have not tried meditation though then I would definitely recommend that. Andrew

I feel you too. I am suffering from a great deal of stress from work. In order to cope with stress and its impact on my body, I always try to get some exercise whenever I can. This will help re-energize my body and also keep me from getting ill or lowering my immunity. Also, I try to unwind during weekends, when I have no work. Whether it be watching a movie or going out with friends, it really helps a lot in restoring my system and revitalizing me.

Dealing with stress seems to come from everywhere in our life. We feel stress at home with family and at our jobs as well. Finding relief from our stress is not always easy. Something that calms and soothes and relaxes us often helps to relieve the stress. Adding more stress is not the way to remove the stress we already feel.

Deep breathing excersises really help! They relax the mind and the muscles. but if you're stressed that means theres something in your life you should re-evaluate there are good things that cause stress be mindful of that but if its something negative thats causing you stress you should really check it out. like i said re-evaulate, and get rid of the negative in your life. For me i deal with stress by first ELIMINATING what causes that stress, second I RE-EVAULATE, look at is this worth being stressed over why am I stressed in the first place, third I ADDRESS it, by deep breathing and taking a moment to look within my self and find that calming sense.

Hi Dealing with stress is no easy task. For me the best way to deal with stress is to cultivate some hobby that you really like-its one of the best stress busters. the others which can help are raising a pet, Yoga, meditation, chanting of hymns and prayers, etc.

You must forget everything about your work when you are out of the work.I think the dormancy is very import,i f you can not sleep very well at the night, you can not work well by daylight and the bad work predicaments will affect your bad sleep inversive.

I read in reader's digest on how to overcome stress-- you just have to take a break for 10 minutes. Breathe deeply, drink water, exercise and just relax. You can also shut at the top of your vice so the stress inside you is released.

Whenever I feel stressed over something, especially at school before (I'm working already), I would really stop and play a favorite game. It really does help. Just make sure you can control yourself or else you won't be able to finish what you need to do. Another good stress reliever is sleep. Just let the day past and put it to sleep. If you have a good sleep, your brain works better thus it could make you work a lot faster. :)

For your body to stay healthy you need to do physical exercises, which is a stress relief. It is also good to take micro pauses, you can just sit and stare out in the nothing with your opened eyes thinking of nothing for like 5- 10 minutes. You can do some meditation in the morning or in the evening for 15 - 30 minutes. Go for a walk every day for like 20 - 40 minutes. When you feel stressed think "Breath" do breath slowly in and out 10 -15 times. It is also beneficial to take time to have several good laughs every day.

Avoid extreme reactions; Why hate when a little dislike will do? Why generate anxiety when you can be nervous? Why rage when anger will do the job? Why be depressed when you can just be sad?

i think it is pretty normal to feel stress sometimes specially in school and at work. for me, i categorize stress in different levels. i try to wipe up mild stress with a simple walk along the seashore, a short walk in our garden with lots of flowers or a treat for my favorite strawberry ice cream, yum! but while doing these, you need to throw away the problems and worries in your mind so that you will feel better. you can also do a favorite hobby or sport for a few minutes or an hour or so. play badminton, cook your favorite recipe go to the mall for some shopping, anything you would like. the worst stress for me is when i feel my head is so heavy and i feel very very down that it feels like there will be no more tomorrow. in these times, i cry so much. then afterward, i feel better. i don't actually understand why it makes me feel better, but it does. =)
