mylot has new rules that nobody knew about?????

With the amount of discussions about 1. Why my account/my friends account is deleted? 2. Why my discussions/responses are deleted? 3. Why my earnings are not shown? 4. How to get earnings? etc. and so on and so forth, one might think there are some rules that myLot has introduced or may be some rules hidden away that nobody knew about. I thought it is time I speak up and write this out. And yes, it is going to be long winded. I don't know how to be short if I want to make myself clear. Unlike some discussions which are for 'some specific groups', this discussion is for everyone in myLot. Say your piece, argue with me, agree with me, whatever you feel like. That brings me to my first point. Discussions are for every Member Some discussions start with Only for people with so and so. myLot is a public discussion. Once you start a discussion, it is a fair game for every member to say their piece. And if their response are against guidelines, report it to the admin who will delete that response. My Discussions/Responses are Deleted for No Reason There are, and have been, and there will be thousands of this discussion. If your discussion gets deleted, that is because it violates Discussion Guidelines or broke the rules of myLot or it is a duplicate topic. Make sure you post original content, and make use of the search feature to find out if someone has already started a discussion with your topic. myLot sends out email when a discussion or a response is deleted. The reason of deletion is stated there. If your response is deleted because the discussion you have responded to is deleted, that is the reason. NOT because of your fault. If you don't want to waste your time or lose money answering discussions that get deleted, make sure the discussion does not violate guidelines. And there are some members asking why some discussion gets to stay? It is upto the admin to decide what stays and what goes. We agreed to that. myLot reserves the right to delete any discussion or task and adjust earnings for any discussion or task that in the judgment of myLot or any Member violates this Agreement or which may be offensive, illegal or violate the rights, harm, or threaten the safety of any person. myLot assumes no responsibility for monitoring the myLot services for inappropriate content or conduct. If at any time myLot chooses, in its sole discretion, to monitor the myLot services, myLot nonetheless assumes no responsibility for the content, no obligation to modify or remove any inappropriate content, and no responsibility for the conduct of the member submitting any such content. There are some members who think that some voluntary members have a right to delete discussions and that some discussion gets deleted because of a report. WRONG - Only admin deletes discussion regardless of a report or no report - Reporting a discussion does not cause deletion. Admin reads it, then decide. Accounts Deletion When we signed up to be a member of myLot, we agreed to the Terms of Service. http://www.mylot.com/o/terms.aspx One of the terms is myLot reserves the right to delete any discussion, response, comment, or photo that goes against any myLot guideline or term. We also reserve the right to delete any discussion without notification to any myLot member. myLot admins are very fair. They do not delete your account just because they can. There always is a reason. If you think that your account is deleted by accident, contact the admin directly. Do not make a discussion about it. My earnings are not showing or How do I earn Read the FAQs. Earnings are updated everyday between 9am to 11 am Server time. Server time can be found at the bottom of every page. To earn from myLot, participate, participate, participate. DISCLAIMER All these and more can be found on http://www.mylot.com/o/terms.aspx http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx http://www.mylot.com/o/faq.aspx This discussion may self-destruct. You have been warned.

Hi zralte OMG what has been happening during the time I was away... Almost many things seem to have gone wrong... oh dear... No Problems, I am now back for good I believe the newbies are having confusions all over again and with all this happening, I have to second your recommendation - READ THE GUIDELINES I dont think this would self-destruct as I think this is a message to many for better performance on MyLot and spreading goodies around

I saw that episode and was appalled If I go to their home and leave muddy marks on the carpet or put my feet up on the chairs then they would not be happy about it surely and I would be in the wrong. If they can't realise that then they have a problem and need to deal with it

Oh... That is insane and ridiculous. In my experience with 15 social sites, I have found GAA to be the best admin that any site can get and yes, this person who accused has no idea of what it takes to be an admin and GAA

Well, this discussion has been a long time coming. The straw that broke the camel's back was a discussion last night about discussions being deleted with no reason given. GAA even replied and the member was attacking GAA as being unfair and insinuates that some members are given voluntary admin job in deleting the discussions, etc etc. I hope this discussion clarifies some doubts that a member might have. Good Day.

Hi Z! You have very wisely summed up all the details relating to mylot and I have observed that many users keep asking such questions in their posts and do not even bother to read FAQs. It may be that they do not have any topic to start, therefore, they start discussions relating to the issues mentioned by you. I wish new users should be aware about FAQs and must read this discussion of yours. Excellent post!

Hi ! I agree that others who though older here are still ignorant will get the benefit of your suggestions here. When I joined this sites the guidelines were not so vast and strict and I might have voilated some of the guidelines, if I go by today's picture. Great Post!

Thank you, dpk. It is not just new users though. There are lots of members who have been here for some considerable time and still don't know that there are FAQs and Guidelines. And of course there are some who knows it but chose to disregard them. I do understand how mind boggling it can be for a new user - well, we've all been in that situation once. I certainly was lost in the beginning. Though I try not to violate any guidelines, I know I have violated them unknowingly - or may be tried to bend it a little bit - as we all know that guidelines are not very clear. Saying all that, I'm happy to say that I now know better, thanks to the guidance given by senior members and by reading lots of discussions. I just want others to learn from the guidance freely provided by senior members and free information provided by myLot instead of making a discussion about things which will get deleted anyway.

I think I violated a few myself when I was a newbie. I try not to repeat my mistakes.

good to know my friend, and i'll say you seem like working in this crew cause you really are hip to this forum,or you are just active and positive person who i suppose surly attracts any others, and now i know it takes time to learn from others here like you,and of course guidelines.

" This discussion may self-destruct. " Arf, you are right, myLot is like "Mission : Impossible", it is really too hard . Both of us made the same observations since a few days : there are an increasing number of moaners moaning at myLot because they do not want to learn, or are voluntarily violating the guidelines...

Exactly my dear topffer. Some says newbies, yes, true to some extent; but there are members who have been here for a while and are still making violations.

Most of the times, I respond to a newbie questions when it comes to rules and regulations about myLot eventhough I know for certain that it will be deleted. Regarding the scamming and referral hunting, I try to steer clear of it, most of the times.

that is a very long and elaborate discussion coming from a passionate mylot member, i give you my positive rating When people join the site, they instantly want to earn and do not want to spend time in reading anything related to FAQ's. I am a pleased member of mylot and would say that the site is very fair and rewards people who do participate. people should rather concentrate in increasing the ratings and be more active than concentrate on getting money. This is what i do, as i like the site a lot

ya, well said. it would be smart of them to stick to the rules and earn than stop using the site or worse, be kicked out

Exactly my point. True, we've all been new members at some point. I make mistakes and probably will too. But I don't make the same mistake twice, or I try not to. We all want to make money, and truth be told, that is probably why most of us join myLot in the first place. What some members don't seem to understand is that to earn here, we have to follow the guidance and make it a clean discussion site.

You are saying that myLot has any rules at all? I thought there were only TermsofUse, which we accept, and Guidelines that we should follow but I have never been aware of any rules - except common sense. Maybe that is not as common as it used to be and is what is causing all these recent problems If, as I have always thought, myLot is a slice of life, it doesn't say much for what is going on offline does it?

I guess you are right about Common Sense no longer being common. Yeah, we agreed Terms of Use when we sign up, and we complain when we break the terms and action has been taken!!!

Wow, all who replied where top earners. Well, its true, I have experienced that yesterday, but to think of it, others replies to some discussions were not deleted, but mine was, hmmmm. Although they violated the same rule that I have. It was just once, but to them, not. Hopefully, they will see that also.

If you think your discussion or response is deleted unfairly, you can always contact the admin. They are fair and if you are right, they will reinstate your discussion/response. They can make mistakes as well, after all, they are also human, not super-being.
