I am using GomezPeer and it is quite safe. It uses your spare processing power to test websites and to deliver information about the speed and quality of your connection. This information does NOT compromise your privacy or security in any way and is useful to website owners and Internet service providers the world over (which is where GomezPeer makes its money to pay people).
How much you can earn depends on where in the world you are and how long your PC is connected to the Internet per day. Verification also depends on a number of other things and can take up to a month. If you sign up and while you are waiting for verification, it helps if you leave your PC on and connected to the Internet for as long as is reasonable every day. This allows them to check whether your connection is suitable. You only begin earning once your account is verified.

Hi,
thanks for the information. But is it necessary to have a PC to join Gomez peer? I have 2 laptops and a notebook, but no PC at home.

Hi
Thanks for the information. I was just wondering if the capacity of hard drive is a constraint.

Hi amirev777,
Yes you can make extra money from Gomez Peer. But it takes a long time to get your account to active status.
In my opinion, people with just one computer will not like it unless the demography is great. There are some countries with a much higher per minute rate and then there are countries in which the requirement is more.
I have seen a discussion in which a member says she gets the active status in a week. Compared that to my almost 3 month wait, well...you see what I mean.

Hi
Thanks for the information. Thats the big problem - the time factor. One cannot wait forever.

Hi
Three years is too a long time. They should have informed you whether you are accepted or not. they can't keep you waiting for 3 years.

@dknkyle, Yes, I have been paid by them 2 or 3 times and payment for February will be coming in at around 16th March.
Like I have mentioned before, it depends on where you are. There are some countries with a lot more demand.
With just one computer, I can see why it would seem impossible, unless you are in one of the bigger demands countries. But 3 years is a long time.....Are you running your computer connected to the internet for 24 hours a day? How many computers are you running the Gomez Peer?

Hi
Yes, but the only problem that I have heard is that it takes a long time for your pending status to get activated.

You can register your membership at their website and download the software. That's it. Like owlwings say, when your account is in pending status, it is important to leave your computer on and connected to internet for as long as possible.
It took me nearly 3 months to get active with 3 or 4 computers running 24 hours a day.
After my account get active status, I don't have to do anything, except check the PC every now and then to see the Gomez Peer is running.
If you are interested, please be my referral. I never have a referral anywhere. You can see the link in my profile.
