Good series always come to an end

Almost all of the series that i love, end too fast:
Early Edition (4 seasons 1996-2000)- Where Gary Hobson started receiving tomorrow's newspaper, today, and trying to save the world (one disaster at a time).
Enterprise (the newest in the Star trek series - 4 seasons 2001-2005) - where the first Warp 5 powered Starship travelled through space exploring
Stargate SG1 (10 seasons - 1997-2007 and then 2 extra movies) - probably the longest tv series that i watched and loved, but it too came to an end.
Stargate Atlantis (5 seasons 2004 - 2009) - it too came to an early end although there would have been room for other plots.
And the list would probably continue, but i don't want you getting bored reading.
So any thoughts on shows that you miss ? What beloved shows disappeared for you ?

I've seen all four of the shows you mentioned... which is weird for me to say because I hardly ever watch TV anymore. I remember loving Early Edition... I watched it with my family when I was a kid. I was also sad to see it go, as was the case with the two Stargate series. Enterprise I was less sorry to see go.
Personally, I think that every good story comes to a definite end. A series that attempts to go on forever eventually goes sour for me. While I'm sad to see some end, and I think a few end too soon... I'd prefer that they did end. A story that goes on forever to me means a conflict that never gets resolved and a happy ending that never actually comes. It also means characters that get stuck... frozen during one phase of their lives and never growing up, getting older, or moving on. That's why I don't like comics, comic-books, or long winded book series. I think good stories should end at some point.

You will probably laugh at this, but what I miss the most as a kid is The Littlest Hobo it was a show about a beautiful Husky dog. I also miss Quantum Leap with Sam Becket as the time traveller. That was so excellent. I used to love Renta Ghost as a kid as well. Oh yeah and also Brookside Close I miss that. I don't whether you will know them though because I am British.

Hey Mickie.
I actually have seen much of Quantum Leap (with the same actor that played the captain in Enterprise you know :) ) and liked it very much.
There was the show with the Canadian police man as well that had a husky dog - but if i recall correctly there was even another show with a dog in Alaska but don't remember the name.

My husband likes all that sic-fi stuff, but I hate it! One show I really miss us Frasier! I loved it, and would have lived to have seen Niles & Daphne raise their son, David.

Mine would be Kyle XY, Dark Angel, and Veronica Mars and I think there are still some more but I just cant think of them as Im typing this.
I dont mind if they had to end but I just want a proper ending. I dont like how shows get cancelled without the opportunity to end all conflicts and issues for a last season. I dont like how the networks just pull the plug on some good shows.
Anyway, I also like 7th Heaven. I grew up watching that show and I did like the fact that they had proper closure with all of the shows original cast present for the Finale. It's just a show that people could relate to since it's about the family.

The only television series that I watched and was familiar to what you said is Early Edition. They actually showed reruns of the program last year in our country. I never heard of it until I saw it so I was surprised to learn how good it was. I thought that the show being such a good show with a good premise did not get a lot of publicity. I really like the idea of having the future in your hand. I don't think I am that heroic to do all of the things that Garry Hobson did.
I think that they are coming to an end is because of low rating.People now prefers to watch Jersey Shore more than a show that is smart. That is pretty sad. TV is filled with crap shows now.

I know how it feels every time one of my favorite tv series come to an end especially those that I have started to love while watching. I miss Early Edition too and when one of our local channels make a rerun of this series, I still watch it. Some of the series that I miss are Numb3rs, Ghost Whisperer, Prison Break and Legend of the Seeker. Those are just a few of the shows that fist come to my mind although the list could go on and on. I feel terrible every time a series come to an end 'cause it gives the feeling that something good you've always looked forward to every week is no longer available.

I loved all those series!! I never saw Stargate Atlantis but the others are great series. I don't understand why people don't like the same series that I do but it's all about the ratings and the sponsors--if the show makes money, it stays.
One of the things you can do to keep your series going is write the sponsors and thank them for their support and tell them that you buy their products, even if you don't.

I miss Early Edition a lot, too, and all I can do is watch the old series when they're on air. Another good show I miss is the TV series "Total recall 2070" where a police officer is partnered with an android and their adventures and struggle against a major company used to catch my breath.
