I sure don't need an apron while cooking because I don't make a big mess while cooking. Even my mom never wears an apron, she takes cooking classes and I've never once seen her use an apron!

gee when you think about it you just don't see people wearing them anymore, once upon time every woman in the kitchen would wear one, I wonder why that all changed, it just disappeared didn't it.

thanks for your response... glad to hear that... but i think the tradition of wearing an apron when cooking had been lost nowadays which is a pity...

Well I don't wear one but I keep telling myself I need to buy one every time I'm gonna go to the store but I always seem to forget that. I try so hard not to get my clothes messy but I always end up getting some kind of spot on my shirt:)

kid bowling - my daughter bowling.
i cook all the time and never wear an apron. i don't usually get too messy. my mother wears one all the time and i'd wear that one too if i could have it. it's one that's an antique and it used to be her grandmother's. if i had that one i would wear it cause it's so cute and meaningful.

I'v never worn an apron, that I can recall. Maybe my mom made me wear one when I was younger and we baked something. Other than that, no way. Plus, my hubby is the cook in this family. If I do anything, it's usually baking, and I'm already in clothes that are OK to get messed up.

I did have a few pretty ones from Greece my Mum had gotten me.But I thought they were too nice to ruin and wear lol and get dirty. So I hanged them in the Kitchen like decoration. I just wear every day clothes to cook and clean inj, then have a shower and put on something nice if I am with my Hubby and he comes home from work lol.

I dont even own and apron myself lol. If i figure i am gonna make a really big mess i usually tie a towel around my waist though. But really it would not matter if i covered my whole body if i am gonna get dirty i would not matter what lol.

I own a couple of aprons but they have been packed away now for so long I probably wouldn't be able to find them. I am a messy cook so I should wear one and I used to, but the hardware fixtures on my kitchen draws were getting caught on them and it drove me nuts. I stopped wearing them when we moved into this house and that was over ten years ago.

I used to always wear one but we pot new inside doors on and I kept getting the ties caught on the new handles , I almost strangled myself a couple of times lol , I still have some new ones in a drawer , my aunt used to make me special ones , I have a beautiful white one with frilly edges and holly and berries on it , I love it and I still use it at Christmas when I am all dressed up, I think it is a thing that is dying out now xx

I don't usually wear an apron when I cook... I am also too lazy, and I am not that messy when I cook... However, when I deep fry, I usually wear one that covers all your hands and body... Hee hee.. I am scared of the jumping oil drops.. =p~ I think that they are so annoying and painful... That's why I wear apron when I deep fry.. =)

I make a complete mess on my clothes and I want an apron, but I don't have one. Heck, I would even throw on a chef's hat just for the fun of it. I like aprons that have all sorts of silly slogans on them, but I guess it's the sort of thing I never geta round to buying for myself. I'll have to put it on my birthday wish list!
