First of all, I'll stay calm so I can think straight. Then I'll call immediately for help. And pray. And if help is on the way, and the fire is out, then I'll post my story here in mylot. :D

Hello, at first would do my best to call the people who can stop the fire. That would be the thing which would save my own property or my things which are inside of it. Once it happened in the building near to us. We saw the fire and called the fire brigade to come and stop the fire. What would i take from my house if something like that happens? I would take documents and money. Money will save me for a little period and documents will help me to identify myself.

If there was a fire near here I would be very frightened. I would want to try to help put the fire out so that it didn't spread and harm the people here or the thigns that are here. There are a lot of very important and sentimental things here so it would be very sad to see it all burnt, though the most important thing are the people inside. I would do the same as you of coruse after making sure that the people were safe, I would grab the important documents and most sentimental items.

Our house also almost got burned years before but fortunately was not burned. I was not at home that time because it was the day of my exam to become a professional nurse and after the exam I went directly to church to attend mass. My family were all at home since it was a weekend. They safe-tied all our our important things and have got my uniform as well for I still to take the exam the following day. I really would feel worried if I was in your situation, because I was more than worried myself even if I wasn't there when the fire started, I saw the fire got bigger and bigger though than made me really frantic and sad and worried and so much more emotions that I just cried and cried and just stopped when the fire went slow. I would save all my documents first for it is the only important thing I have. The next would be a few clothes and other important things my family will be needing.

Hi dear, Hope you all are safe and there was no causalities. If such situations come up, try to save if any people are in danger. Once found all people or any living things like pet or any thing around try to same them as well. Inform the fire force or police and save all our belongings if not in danger. Better to not to try for any dangerous attempts. Though we would be in panic, it is necessary that we should be careful in such situations. As is is covered by electricity and explosives gas cylinder or fridge, tv etc, things after getting fire on such things is also dangerous. So we need to be careful while entering into such places also. However, we should be careful at such situations and we all need to keep emergency fire exhaust at all homes. Thank-s

In fact here in our place there happened a major fire last week. One of the Oscar Winner film actor lost her all belongings due to the fire and many damages were took place. It was so sad and found it is quite unfortunate. If possible, we need to try to get our valuables or belongings at once if it happens. However as fire and certain incidents are quite unexpected so that it is difficult for us to have precautions. Thank-s

Oh, ah, start looting??? LOL...joke. I would get my family members out of the house first, then go back and get the most important things out, and if there is still time, i would get other stuff out.

Yikes! There was a fire across the street from me a few years ago. It was smoking and then all of a sudden it just started burning. The night before the fire department showed up and thought it would be a good idea for the people to leave for the night, good thing they did because the next day it burned to the ground. I guess I would save my family first, you can replace everything else but people.

Experiencing on situation like yours never been a joke. Some people got panic that they could not bring anything but running back and forth. I had an experience on that bu not really on our neighborhood but I saw some people got panic, shouting and crying for help. Am not sure yet what would I bring first. You can never tell 'til you're there.. Mobhomeir here..

It is good your house did not vanished in fire. If I were in your situation, I will save the most important thing that is if I can. But if it is impossible then let it be. The most important thing is that I am safe and the rest of the family members. This month is fire protection month. It is because summer is approaching and the surrounding is vulnerable for fire. But is it ironical that s=during this month, there are many houses that are burned and even mountains. Most of the time, the reason of the fire is faulty wiring or candles left unattended.

Oh my! Thank goodness the firemen got there on time.. I do hope that nothing like that will happen to any of use here, cause fires are just so tragic. I think in a state of panic, the first thing I would grab is my bag, and maybe my netbook. LOL. Other than that, I don't know what I will do if I know that the fire is nearby and it can possibly get to our house any minute..

If i were in your situation, i will very scare and worry about my family members. The first running in my mind is "i have to make sure everyone is safe", then only i think of important documents. It's actually happen to me last 2 years but i was not at home that time. I only got to know about the incident the next day. I was very worry about my family member especially my parents and i quickly apply leave and rushed back to my hometown. Fire is very scary.

Hello Friend, I would call the fireman first (since we carry mobile always, its easy to call them), I would try n inform my people about the fire ans alert them and would remove all the important things, obviously if the fire is very vigorous then we can save only few things if not we can grab as much as possible.. and then try to kill the fire if there is no response... this is totally circumstantial... I can talk now but when the situation comes there are things you do out of panic and that could be appropriate.. so the actions will be more reactive than proactive..

I suppose it depends on the severity of the fire. But my objective would be to get me and anything with life out of the house. We can later replace gadgets, money and furnishings. But a life, human and or pet would be my priority at the time of a full fledged fire.

It is good to know that the firemen come on time before the fire could consume your house. I have experienced the same situation as you have and the sad thing is that we lost our house in the fire. I woke up at 1 am in the morning because call of nature, i saw in the window of my house a small fire burning in the terrace of my neighbors house which is 10 meters away from my house, i just ignore it thinking its just nothing to worry, until some neighbors are shouting of fire...the fist thing i did is wake up my three children, get some important documents and my kids school things, uniforms...bring them to a safe place...and watch the fire burned our house. my husband was at work at that time, its only me and the kids...i keep myself calmed for my three kids...its a traumatic experience for my kids because when they saw smoke even it came from a neighbors kitchen they would shout, run and would cry.

When I was a bit young, at the back of our house there was a big vacant lot that was covered by grass and shrubs as tall as maybe around 7 feet. And at our backyard we have 2 large mango trees and the house of my uncle and his family. Every summer, fire would start somewhere over that vacant lot and after a few minutes it will grow rapidly. We are always afraid that the fire might get to tour trees and burn down our house. So what we do, some of us would ready the important things just in case it would reach our house and some of us try to water the part just outside our backyard. Thank God that it didn't reach our house and any of our neighbor's house even it happened year after year. It came close but we still managed to put it out. A few years back, they created a road in the middle of the vacant lot just so that when there is fire, the fire trucks can go in easily.

Well, the first thing I would do is call 911 and alert them on the situation. Then the second thing I would is grab my money and anything that can make me money so I can sell it in the streets. Then the second thing I would do is get out of the house and make sure everybody is out of the house. Then if my house burns down (God forbid) I'll call my dad and tell him to pick us up and we'll stay in his house.

The first thing I will save is my family and other people that I think they can be in great danger. Money can be found again, but life can't. Unfortunately in my country, some poor people will take their goods as their priority, saving as much as they can without knowing their life is in danger. I once read the newspaper and I found out that a man was killed in fire. It's sad, but what makes very sad is tomorrow is his wedding. One day before happiness finally ends with great crying.
