I'm sorry but it seems this person really don't like to work. Or actually deserves to be employed. I had co=workers like that and I stopped helping them out. They are having the same salary as me to work less? Now way, I won't cover people like that.

oh i think you just did what you have to do. people will not learn and make others do their work for them while they go on breaks, surf the net, or play games but then... you as a co worker have to work twice as much.. which means it could be better that you should be alone than have someone with you but is not helping youat all!

Hi, tikbalang56. You was so nice enough to finish her job for her. She is so ungrateful to care not in the least. That is why she is now fired. She has to understand that her boss is not going to let her slide and slide. Sooner or later, the truth will come out. How can an DS Nintendo be so important than her own job that is paying her?? It is sad that you spent extra hours doing her job, while you clocked out later on. You could have been gone and doing other things that you had to do for yourself. It is bad that this coworker cares more about having leisure time on her job, than she does when it comes to working.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing happens in many workplaces. It's not fair when you have to pick up someone else's slack, especially when it is causing you to lose some of your free time. I can't begin to tell you how many lazy people I have had to work with over the years. And no one ever fired them!! I am glad that your situation worked out. Now maybe you will get out at the right time, and not have to do other peoples' work.

Hi tikbalang56, it's very unfortunate to work together with workmate that is irresponsible. It doesn't matter if he or she leaves earlier than he should for acceptable reason. But it's not allowed to to take advantage by playing traunt and let other to follow up his unfinished task often. I'm glad that your supervisor had learned that what was happening actually and fired the irresponsible coworker finally And you don't have to do the undesired extra work anymore and can back to home as soon as the office hour is over Happy posting

Are you working in call center? I think your boss is very efficient getting lazy worker out of the company. And you are right you have give her chances and she still do it. So its her fault for getting fired.

It sounds like you did what you had to do in this situation. There would have been no good reason to allow yourself to get into trouble for working too late and jeopardize your own job for her. I am sure that it wasn't easy having to tell your supervisor that your co-worker wasn't completing her job and that ou were having to do it, but in this case, I think that you did the right thing. Glad to know that things are getting better for you now.

I think you were right in telling the supervisor, but before that did you try to talk to the coworker first? Maybe talk to them about her breaks and how you feel about always staying later to finish her tasks, work out a compromise or something. Of course if that doesn't work telling the supervisor as a last resort is the right thing. It sounds like your coworker needs a push in the right direction and stop being lazy, and maybe her getting fired will help bring her back to reality. (:
