I am still waiting my tax money from Income Tax Department

Hi Friends,
Last year when I filed my tax return for the 2009-10 financial year, my tax consultant told me that I will get 6000 refund from Income Tax department.
I am still waiting that money to be credited in my account. I wonder how long they will take to give me my money back.
Does anyone have idea about how long IT department takes to return the extra tax they deducted?

Getting back $6000 from the government could take awhile. They are probably trying to find a reason not to pay you. (HA,HA) If you filed this return last year have you tried contacting them. Maybe your return got miss placed. I sure wish I could get a return. We end up paying every year. This is even with the maximum taken out of our checks. TERRIBLE!!!

It is not $ but in Rupee, I have got my money back last month in my account.

If your return is for 2009-10 FY for 2010-11 Assessment year, then you are a bit early. The tax year has not ended yet and the last day of filing will be somewhere in October, I think.
I got a refund last year, but I can't be sure for which year. Though I can check out when I received it.
