Spring Forward

I know that not country goes through time changes. In america we change time twice a year. Spring forward starts tonight. We move the clocks forward 1 hour. It gives us longer daylight time. I really don't care for a change in time. Extra daylight time means nothing to me. I still have to go to bed and then to work. The daylight just keeps me awake and then I go to work tired. Not good.
Do you like spring forward?
Why or Why not?

Besides the fact that it is a sign of Spring and warmer weather, I get exhausted for a couple days. It takes a few days for me to get adjusted. But just when I am adjusted to the time change we switch them back again, lol..

I agree. Seems like you finally get acclimated and then they change it from the end of the month to the beginning. (HA,HA) I found that kind of disturbing.

Well I hate losing the hour of sleep however, I do love to have a longer day with daylight. Plus we then use less electric which is a savings. I do not like it when we have darkness by 4:30pm or 5:00pm. That is just to early for nightime to fall. I really wish we could keep it like this all year long with the extra daylight and do away with changing the clocks in November.

Does not sound odd at all. My daughter and son-in-law are the same way. Use very little lights, they prefer the darkness. LOL LOL LOL

I wish they would leave it the same also. For me, I still use the same amount of electricity. I rarely turn the lights on. Probably sounds odd, but true.

I remember when daylight saving time was first instigated. There was a big hoopla all over the US. Some states went for it and some didn't. Some counties of the same state would have it and a neighboring county would decide against it. It was supposed to benefit farmers but I didn't know any that thought it helped them. Over the years, it has become more standardized and it's just a fact of life now. I don't like it or dislike it. I sleep at odd hours anyway and can fall asleep in daylight or dark. For the people with gardens, I suppose it gives them a little more growing time.

Yes, I guess we can thank the farmers. I'm with you it doesn't really have an impact to farmer now. I think it's funny that some places opted in and other didn't. Can you image the confusion for a new comer to that state. (HA,HA)

Quite frankly, I didn't know how the Daylight Savings Time works. I have a setting for it on my Playstation 2 and I just set it to whatever.

I like it. No concept of time. Must be nice. Theory of daylight savings time Spring Foward 1 hour. Fall Back 1 hour. I really don't care for it at all. Seems light the majority side on saving daylight.

I wish you the best there. I know it can't be easy. Hopefully, spring will make things a little easier for you there.

I never much cared for it and that they made the change two weeks earlier in the Spring and one week later in the Fall, I really hate it. I don't think it saves any energy. You just get used to getting up with some daylight and then it goes back to having to struggle to get up in the dark again. It is especially hard on school kids since studies have shown that getting up before it is light affects their performance at school.

I love daylight savings time because it means spring and warm weather is coming a lot sooner. I love summer and hate winter. I hate when the sun sets at 5pm it's so depressing. I love being able to do outdoor activities later because the sun sets later. I love it because winter is gray, cold and depressing. And spring and summer is sunny, warm and energizing. Yay for daylight savings time it makes me happy this time of year!

When it start to get hot here it stays hot. There really no happy medium. I don't deal with the heat or the cold very well. I can burn in 50 degree weather if the suns shining. I actually like the rain. There is something calming about listening to the raindrops hit the awning. Enjoy your daylight savings.

L.O.L. I am glad that you stated this discussion because I would have forgot all about it!!! Thanks and it seems to me when we spring forward the days seem to be much longer but I don't mind either way!! I just wish that people would leave the time thing and the gas prices alone!!!!L.O.L.

Boy you got that right. Our gas spiked 12 cents overnight. I was really glad I got gas on Thursday. I'm sure the price will go done by next week. (HA,HA) I would've forgot about daylight savings time also, but I was watching the news and they set me straight.

The reasoning behind Daylight Savings Time has long been redundant, farmers now have lights on tractors, electricity in barns etc...schools still start at the same time and the school day ends appropriately.
Splitting the hour and leaving the time alone, standardizing it over the entire country is a more sensible way to go. Phoenix, AZ and South Bend, Indiana do not subscribe to the change of time twice a year with no ill effects, advancing a half hour for the rest of the country for a year round standard time would simplify things a great deal.
So nope I sure don't much care for the twice yearly time change...it's just one more thing I always forget, even when I am reminded.

Well, I would have to agree. It really serves no purpose now, but something for you to forget.

I really don't know.. I haven't tried spring season. But according to what you said; more time by daytime means more work and less rest, which is really tiring..
HMM. Maybe its best if I have experienced spring season, so I know what to feel.. Maybe I'll try one soon!

In my opinion, you are not missing much. Hopefully, where you live it doesn't get too hot. That's one of the things I don't like about summer coming. When it gets hot it stays that way.

This seems to be the norm. Most of the people would prefer the time stay and not change back.

I think I prefer the time change in the fall because we get an extra hour of sleep. However, this means that winter is coming, and I dislike the winter. So, in a way I almost like the time change we are having now because it is telling us that spring is on the way, and I love the spring and summer!
