Do you have a set of good teeth?

Many people have decayed tooth problems, since some of them do not pay enough attention to their teeth. I had one of my teeth repaired about 10 years ago, there was a little hole on the middle,as long as a tiny food stuffed,I felt pain very much! One of my nephews is only 5 years old,he's very strong, but his teeth are so bad, none of his neeth is growing well!I think that's all because his mother lets him eat before sleeping, but she doesn't like listening to others. My poor nephew! Are you suffering from decayed tooth?

I have a tooth decay but fortunately i am not suffering from any pain at the moment. I honestly am afraid of going to my dentist for he has said he has to remove some of my teeth because it already is almost in front of another tooth. I wanted to remove this decay but I am afraid the doctor will be asking me to remove more tooth for its not making my mouth look good. I hate dentist, they cause me pain and I hate smelling the medicine they put on your gums. I do hope i have the courage to go to my dentist again. I hate the decay already, good thing it's not obviously seen when I smile.

I'm, already picking up the small pieces of courage I have and hopefully will have a bucket full to be able to go to the dentist. I really don't want to feel the pain you have felt as well as with others before I have this decay removed.

I am glad that I have no big problem with my teeth. For 52 years now I have only visited the dentist less than 10 times. I have to thank mom for setting good habits of taking good care of my teeth. She always insists that we brush our teeth after each meal.

I have all my teeth minus the 2 that were pulled for braces when I was young. I have a few crowns, but I will do anything to save a tooth. I go to the dentist and the hygienist twice a year. My dentist won't take clients who don't take care of their teeth. He's the best in my area and I am lucky to have him.

Like I said, my dentist won't even take a client who doesn't take care of their teeth. He prefers to have clients without a lot of decay. Also with him being one of the best in the country, his prices are among the highest. You get what you pay for.

Hi Oldsix! Your nephew is not alone. My son was 2 years old when he lost almost all his upper front teeth. My fault actually! Whenever he cries, we usually feed him his milk and really doesn't want to get his teeth clean afterwards. He just cries so loud. We went to a pedia dentist and the first one we went to suggested to have multiple extraction of his 12 tooth. We went to another one and gave us an option to save the teeth. Extracting it earlier would give us much problem when the permanent teeth would start to come out. Somehow, it would not align and my son would use a brace in the future. Besides, my son is too young to be anesthetized. Anyway, his turning 5 this May, and somehow his teeth survived. We'll just wait for a year or two before his permanent teeth would appear. And I'll really make sure to take care of it. Anyway, I too didn't have a perfect teeth when I was young. I have the same teeth that my son has right now. But I grew up with a set of perfect teeth minus the help of the braces. But I'm currently havin problems with my molars which is growing sideways and not upright. Plus I have a tooth extraction that left a space in my gum. The dentist say that somehow this two would make my teeth unaligned in the future. I'm still getting the courage to have a molar extraction.

If you ever go through a child wanting a bottle before bed that already has their teeth in you can give them a bottle of water. (as long as they are over a year) I did this with my kids to ween them off the bottle at night. I kept the bottle of water in bed with them so they could 'snack' if need be in the middle of the night. Usually they ended up not even bothering with it after awhile and if they did it was just to sooth themselves back to sleep.

Thanks Dismalgrin! My mom says to feed him water after every feeding just to clean his gums. But my son usually throws it away when he figured it is not milk. I have learned so much from being a first time mom, to never repeat the same mistakes I made if ever I have another baby.

I was brought up in a family that didn't take care of their teeth or teach their kids good oral hygiene. At about age fifteen I was told by a dentist that if I didn't start taking care of mine I would lose them by age 25. I am now 59 and still have them. I want to get dentures but can't afford to so I try to take as best care of what I still have. They are in bad shape but why pay big bucks to have work done when I don't want to keep them but can't afford the dentures? I am going to try to get help from Medicaid as I have heard others have gotten help.

I have been to the dentist earlier and I know that I have to have money up front for the dentures. Money I don't have or any way to save.

Yeah younger generation these days are prone to tooth decay and experiencing different tooth-diseases it's maybe because of different lifestyles of their environment. I am lucky I was nurtured by my mother with her pure mother's milk that I knew one of the factors I have still a strong teeth. At my age I may not have a good set of teeth but what I am proud is the quality of strong teeth. Besides, ever since am not fond of eating sweets. Cheers!!! Mobhomeir here..

I have had experience of toothache, I'd rather have headache than toothache. I have very strong set of teeth maybe because I am fond of eating citrus or sour fruits like guavas as this wipe out tartar or stains on our teeth. Keep on brushing after eating and going to bed is the best habit to prevent toothdecay.

Good teeth are hereditary. And eating before bed will not make your teeth not grow in right. That is so silly. Neither will a child sucking their fingers or thumb make their teeth grow in crooked or make them fall out. These are things that people from past generations thought because they didn't have the expanded knowledge that doctors can give us today. Considering that you have problems with your teeth, I would venture to guess that your nephew is not the only one else in your family that has these teeth issues. It is important that your nephew brush at least every night before bed (whether or not he eats before then has nothing to do with it)Many dentist suggest that you brush your teeth 3 times a day. Also, if your nephew is still drinking out of a sippy cup that sugars will rest against his teeth for long periods of time and make them rot. It's good to try to ween children as early as developmentally possible to keep their teeth from rotting. Oh, and you cannot 'catch' bad teeth from someone. I have been blessed to have good teeth my entire life. My mom has them, and most of my siblings have them as well (my dad has 3 cavities) I have dated 2 men of the course of the past 10 years that had horrible teeth. And I kissed them a lot during our time together and it never made my teeth bad.

I just visited the dentist a few days ago. He couldn't stop stressing to me how important it is for me to brush my teeth twice a day especially because i'm so young. I usually don't really take good care of my teeth. I do drink a lot of fizzy drinks and such and I only brush my teeth once a day which has resulted in me needing two fillings next week with my dentist! great :/ But I am going to try and take more care of them from now on especially because I hate visiting the dentist!

No. Thankfully not. I've never had even a bad toothache. I have had my share of cavities and had to get them filled. I had two crowns on my two front teeth when I was in grade school. I am not really sure why. I should get cleanings more often, but I'm lazy. I have dental insurance but have never used it. I had braces in high school into college and hated them. Now I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth and a lot of tartar builds up there. I had a permanent retainer on my top teeth as well but I bit into a hard piece of bread one day and part of it came off and was just hanging in my mouth until I could get to a dentist to take it off.

Yes, I'm suffering froom decayed tooth. One tooth have a hole due to eat sausage. And some teeth feel ache when I eat hot, cold, sour food. It is difficult to endure. Atfer I went to dentist clinic for reparing two teeth last year, I feel much better. From now on, I must take care of my teeth, otherwise the consequence is very serious.
