One cigarette reduces life by 5-7 min. Also, I smoked last 7 years, but for five months I NO smoke. I am very proud of the fact that I have abandoned. Actually felt better and my health has improved. It was not easy to quit, but me helped my boyfriend (thank you).
Only now I understand how smoking was harmful and now I do not like cigarette smoke.. I recommend all quit and live longer!

I smoke 10 packs a day and I can still play basketball for 4 hours straight. I think my health had been improved by nicotine.

I quit every now and then. I live with smokers so getting away from the smell is hard. I had quit a few months ago and like a fool I for no particular reason started again. It is really bad in the mornings. I love coffee and a cig for breakfast. I think I will have to give both up to get rid of smokes. The last time I quit, I also cut down to 1/2 a cup of coffee a day. That also got rid of my morning stiffness.

I have tried to give up smoking at least twice with no success.I have cut down on how many i smoke, if anything i feel worse for cutting down.I feel that seeing other people that have stopped having a smoke their health has got worse, for instance my mother has been alot iller and she has gained weight and is now diabetic due to it.My husband has put on loads of weight that has caused him and his health get worse with high bp, weight gain and other problems. They also both seem to have more coughs, colds and chest infections.I am glad you are feeling healthier as well as that you have quit.Well done.

Congrats, Sexyice! You are lucky to have smoked only 7 years, for me they were more than 15. I understand what you mean because for me it was a good struggle to quit smoking. Finally I did it 5 years ago and I'm glad that your struggle was successful too.
Welcome to the world of the non smokers!

I never smoke and never plan to do so. Most smokers says it reduces stress? really? Doesn't the smell add to stress? I don't like the smell it makes my head ache. Also the smell stick to your clothes that's why when somebody smokes near me I try to move farther or tell them to put it off. Also look at their teeth, gosh! I'm so happy for you at least you got out of a vary bad and dangerous habit.

I have never really smoked. I think it is a disgusting habit and an absolutely horrid smell. Wehen i used to go into town out drinking with friends i hated that when i got home my clothes and me stunk of smoke as everybody around was smoking. A few years ago we had a smoking ban in public places like pubs, clubs and other places, i was so happy and it nade a massive difference, i know come home will still smelling fresh clothes. So good to hear that you are doing really well with not smoking. It does make a big difference when it comes to your health and also can save you a lot of money. Smoking has never been anything that i have been interested in, thankfully.

I used to smoke for 9 years and then in one day I quit smoking and started to live Healthy. I really liked to smoke, but my health worsened. Then I started to run every evening for longer and longer distance. Now I dont smoke for more than 2 Years and I feel good and dont even want to start smoke again. Only I dont run so much like in this summer, I become littlebit lazy! :P

Wow 5-7min? Really? Good for you! Smoking is a terrible addiction. I have never smoked and I will never smoke in my life. But, I have many friends that I hang around and they smoke. Second Hand Smoking is just as bad, so I need to learn to avoid those certain friends when I can.

I tried it when I was younger but didn't like it. I'm glad that I didn't like it and decided not to smoke. Smoking is very bad for a person's health and I wish it was easier to quit. I guess that's why companies have nicotine in it to keep a person coming back. Unfortunately their are a lot of people who want to quit but it is very hard for them. There are options out there to help a person quit but they may have there side effects as well. For those that have and are trying to quit I'm happy for them. It will benefit their health, their families health, and will contribute to their living longer.

Yes, both me and my husband do. It is very hard to quit--I've tried several times. It didn't help that he didn't try to quit, as it made it very, very hard for me. I've smoked for 11 years, starting when I was 15, and I wish I had never picked up that first one. On the other hand, the thought of quitting right now is scary, as I do at times really enjoy having a cig. Hopefully, I will be able to stop when I try to quit again.

In our office, it sucks that almost everyone smokes but you know its kinda normal. I hate the way it smells and it stink your clothes too. But I still hangout with them whenever they get to smoke so I guess that made me like a second hand smoker lol. It's very harmful but for those who currently smokes, it would be very painful to quit. It's like your body is used to it. So it takes a lot of courage and effort and discipline to quit that thing.
