the color of my hair is brown brunette, i want to get my hair colored, but do not which color to choose from, since my hair is natural. I am bit skeptic in coloring my hair, because coloring the hair might damage the hair as well, as i know from others. What is the color of your hair? Have you tried coloring / dyeing it?

I have dyed my hair many many times..It's original color is brown - this medium brown-type color. It's not that it's a bad color and I don't like it, but I like experimenting around and changing my look from time to time (my hair hates me for it though LOL). Right now it's a dark brown/black color. I thought it was appropriate for the winter time. Probably when it starts to get nicer out and when I get a reasonably good tan, I'll put highlights in - that seems appropriate for me, for summer. I say..everything is good in moderation, and who knows, you could look even more fabulous with a different color!! You'll never know until you try (just don't be going crazy)

I also like a change from time to time. I just recently went lighter and got my hair a light brown with blonde streaks in it. I love it but hate that it takes so long to do. I was in the beauty salon for 5 hours! At least I had a good book to read. If you are hesitant to dye your hair then it is best to think it through carefully. Usually you will have a lifetime or dying ahead of you as it will look strange to have your natural hair color on top of your head and the bottom dyed.

hey Cuttyrish, my hair is black and I never tried to color it ever but still its turning gray may be due to the low quality of water in the locality.I would suggest you not to mess with your hair if you don't wan to loose it before the time comes. Its true that dying the hair damages it permanently and why to take a risk if its not worth it. Sure you can color it if you think you really need it. Choose a color which matches your skin texture..goodluck

Hi cutty My hair is brown, i had very thick hair when young, but now at 65 most of the hairs gone, those on the sides of ears have white patces, so i get them dyed once in a month using a herbal safe dye.. Thanks for sharing Cheers. BE HAPPY ALWAYS. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .

i have long straight black hair. my friends told me that it was boring. one day, it tried to have hair dyed. Had burgundy, mahogany, dark brown (in different settings). at first, i don't see much effect but on the second time i have my hair dyed the color was terrific. new look and i look younger. i suggest try lighter colors for dark colored hair.

I am grateful for having black hair color, and so far I never had the desire to change my hair color. I'm afraid to change your hair color because there are chemicals in hair dyes will damage the hair and even my scalp.

I have black hair. I haven't tried dyeing my hair but I plan to. But I am not yet so sure if I am going to dye it or not since I might not be able to take care of it.I have heard from my friends that it needs maintenance which I might not be able to do.

I haven't dyed my hair yet. If I had to dye my hair one day, it would be black because I think it is the color which is the most suitable for Asians. If it is not necessary, I won't dye my hair because I think it is not only bad for my hair, but also my health. The dying material is chemical stuff anyway. I love China

I haven't had any Hair for about 30 years, so I don't miss it. If I did have hair I would take real good care of it and I would not dye it. Hair Dye is not the best thing you can do for your hair.

Hi, My hair colour is black and in my whole life, I dye my hair once. Actually it is because I permed my hair and my hair stylist suggested me to dye my hair,so that it will looks more trendy. After full consideration,at last, I gave it a try. I chose those slightly brownish color, and I love the result. After a year, the color seem has gone missing and now my hair has go back to black colour again. I don't plan to dye my hair again, but instead I will do rebonding for my hair next week.

My hair color is light brown. My favorite hair color is black. But in my whole life i just put color in my hair one time. Though that time i was thinking to make my hair more black but put light brown by mistake. So from that i never tried dying my hair. Good luck!

i have a long straight black hair. people used to call me that black hair is boring. i tried to dye my hair. i've tried mahogany, burgundy, deep brown.. at first, the hair color doesn't have an effect since my hair is naturally black. but as i use the hair dye the more i see the result. hair color can make you look young if only you know the tricks. no all hair color can make your hair dry. you have to find some products that are made from natural ingredience.

My hair is blond but with gel in it it looks quite dark so I keep it this way, never dyed it.

Hair can be damaged only when it is not treated right. You can still colored your hair but you have to moisturize and give it healthy treatments more. My hair is black and I've colored it brown already before. Now the color is gone, I want to color it again.

My natural hair color is black. I have dyed my hair some times before and it made a lot of the damages to my hair, since I realized the condition got so bad after dying my hair, I stopped doing that. But it is interesting that I have noticed my hair color is changing, it is getting little brownish on it's own which I don't understand.

The color of my hair is dark brown almost black and I have done highlights on my hair. If you are happy with your hair color and you're okay with it, you should keep it that way. Because as you have said, coloring might damage your hair especially if your hair is not used of having too much chemical. That's it.
