Are you fond of celebrating birth day? When I was a kid I enjoyed it very much for the gifts I used to get on the eve of such an auspicious day. But now being old enough, I can realize that birth day means a step towards death. What are your views about it?

Haha, why do you have that kind of thought?Nobody can come to no end,why do you worry about that?
I don't like celebating my birthday just because it's not very special for me,i even forget it.Each time when it comes near,my son or my wife reminds me,and usually we have a dinner with some more nice dishes, that's all.

Hi,friend~
As far as I am concerned,I like celebrate my birth day.As I was young,I like celebrate my birth day because I can get a lot of presents from my parents. But now,I am 21 years old,I still like celebrate my birth day party. In my opinion, celebrate birth day can prove my existence value in this year, its my living proof.I can't easily ruin it.
Good luck,have a nice day~

A birthday for me is a good thing and a bad thing. It's a reminder that I'm not young anymore, and that I can't go back, but it's also an excuse for a party, and a day where you receive presents and people congratulate you because you have been able to live another year more.
I prefer to focus in the good things in my birthday and to celebrate it

LOL but so true though! As children we get so excited for one more year of celebration. Then as adult it is not yikes yet another.
At times too as an adult we do not like to celebrate. But in reality being allowed to live another year for me is a blessing.

I'm too. I don't like parties much. So, I never have birthday parties. I usually go to restaurant or coffee bar with a birthday cake with my honey.

When I was younger I always celebrate my birthday with family, relatives and friends around, it's so happy that you always look forward to celebrating it the next year. Now I would say, I do celebrate my birthday in a more quiet way no big celebration at all. I guess when you grow older you just want to stop counting the years although grateful to have lived for another year of my life.

hahahha when we celebrating our birthdays in our child hood is always better when compared to elder age. See there are so many things going on in childhood. Its a wonderful day while we are celebrating our birthday in our child hood while we are kids at that time. Its a fine pleasure to dream about that birthdays. even in my birthday i am celebrating infront of the teacher with parents and my friends at that time they are saying like a cute voice. But this time celebrating birthday means they are all having loud voice to sing a song with louder voice those are the main problem for me. This time i never celebrating birthdays.

Oh No! Don't look at it that way. Your birthday is the One day that belings to you. New Year is for everyone. Christmas/ Hanukkah is for family . Your wedding anniversary is for you And you love to share . But your birthday is Your day Alone.
My birthday is two weeks after Christmas , so when I was little And Christian, whatever I didn't get for Christmas would automatically go on my birthday list.I would look forward to getting old enough... Old enough to stay in the pool with the teens/ Old enough to see a rated R film , etc. But when I turned about 17,two huge things changed. One , I had enough money to get what I wanted During the year and two, I decided to be Jewish. When I turned 18 and then at 21 , I celebrated the age I turned . But after that I just celebrate the day. Some years I get gifts but others no. The Two things That Are a tradition is I get a store bought cake And We go to my favorite Restaurant for dinner. It's my day and that's All I want. I have lost track how old I am . I have to literally figure it out.the day isn't about the year added to your age! It is a day to celebrate you! The one day you get top choose what to do and then do it.

When I was a child I loved birthday parties. I always had two birthday parties, one for my family and one for my classmates. I especially enjoyed the birthday party for my classmates, we played different games and we always had a lot of fun. Now I am an adult and I still celebrate my birthday, I have lost my interest in the games that we used to play but I usually go out for dinner with my husband, my parents and my brother. Last year I was in Romania on my birthday and I didn't have a birthday party. My husband and I were travelling together and we celebrated my birthday in a nice restaurant

Hi DoctorDidi,
Personally speaking I am against celebrating birth days. For me this is mere waste of time, energy and money. If a little bigger we do celebrate our son's birth day. Just to make him happy.
When he would grow up we will ask him to stop.
Now when my wife and my birthday fall we just put out the car and go for a dinner outside. And as per requirement we gift ourselves.

When i was younger celebrating a birthday was a very big deal. If there was to be no celebration, it was a major letdown. Now that i am older birthdays are still enjoyable and fun to celebrate, but a party is not necessary for that enjoyment. just having someone remember and maybe do something special is more than enough!

Hi Doctor,
You're right. Every birthday reminds us closer to our inevitable end. Lucky for me, I wasn't brought up celebrating birthdays. For me, it's just another very ordinary day unless it falls on a special holiday which is not very often. I was born on March 22 and the only thing that came close to it being special were the time of my high school and college graduation way back then.

I still enjoy celebrating my birthday because I try not to think that another year added to my age brings me closer to the end;on the contrary,I try to celebrate the fact that I managed to survive another year.I don't how I might feel about my birthday when I'm old,but I think that people should try not to feel sad on their birthdays;of course,it's easier said than done, but until now my birthday is a very special day for me and I hope it will remain the same for a long time.
