I love ice cream. Good ice ccream where the emphasis is on the cream rather than the ice. There are two types that I dislike - coffee and tutti frutti - but bring on the rest!! Unfortunately my health regime forbades me ice cream so I can ony drool as I pass by the ice cream parlour or store freezer. Do you have a favourite flavour or is it all equally scrumptious?

I like butter pecan the best! Recently I picked up some limited edition "Girl Scout Samoa Cookie" ice cream and it is wonderful. I limit myself to one serving (1/2 cup) per day although it's very tempting to pig out! I also like sherbet in the summer, it's very refreshing. I tried low fat and low calorie ice cream but I only wanted more. The real thing satisfies me and one serving is enough.

You Americans love your Girl Scouts. How you can eat them I just don't know! LOL. I don't eat it at all now because there's no way that I could not eat a pint or two or three...

Yes, Girl Scouts are yummy especially if they are roasted with rosemary and new potatoes! My secret is that I look at things like ice cream and treats as conditional--a little bit won't hurt hurt me but if I eat more than the serving size it turns to rat poison, not killing me right away but piling on the fat and suffocating my heart! It's a drastic way to look at things but if that's what it takes...and I'm really and truly convinced of it 90% of the time! Tell yourself something often enough and you believe it, or can pretend you do and fool yourself.

Moose tracks is my favorite, although butter pecan or strawberry are tied for second. It does not last long once I buy it though...too delicious!

All ice cream is good, anything with chocolate in it is best. I like Rocky Road and/or Chocolate fudge...

I too love Ice Cream and luckily for me, I have not had to give this up. We have an ice cream maker in which we make our own raw vegan ice cream. We are also friends with two local companies who sell raw vegan ice cream commercially throughout Australia. Both of these companies actually started from humble beginnings in our ice cream maker too! It is all very nice, but I do like a choc mint flavoured ice cream the best!

What do you use instead of milk or cream Bill? I love mint ice cream although most commercial ones are made synthetically I understand.

Coconut is most often used as a base for raw vegan ice creams. You can blend the flesh and the water from them. Most people use a mint essence as flavouring rather than real mint leaves, but you can buy some really natural organic essences.

Ice cream and I go way back together. I do agree with you on the coffee flavor of ice cream. i just couldn't see myself diving into a bowl of ice cream that tasted like coffee. I don't see the treat in that at all. i am not a fan of coffee to begin with. Tutti frutti i could probably deal wwith. As long as the ice cream has chocolate and nuts, it is a happening dessert!

I LOVE chocolate, and mint chocolate chip, of course, that makes me think of my mom who's favorite flavor was mint chocolate chip. I like cherry vanilla, but I'm really not into strawberry or other fruits, tho I do like lime and orange sherbets...

I also prefer the creamier, richer ice creams. If you ever come to the Philadelphia metro area, you MUST try frozen custard. It is a type of soft ice cream that has NO ice crystals in it. It's so smooth and creamy and even buttery in texture and flavor. It's wonderful!! I also like Moose Tracks which is vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge streaks through it and miniature peanut butter cups throughout. Chocolate chip mint is tasty, too, as is Cherry Garcia - a fancy cherry vanilla that is sold by Ben and Jerry's (really thick chocolate chunks that crunch when you eat them because they're frozen in the ice cream, which for me is the best way to eat chocolate. ) Recently, I've been enjoying chocolate chip mint milkshakes. Probably not good since I've gained 12 pounds (almost a stone) in the past three months.

We have Ben and Jerry's here too with most of their flavors. I also have their recipe book and make some of them too. I have to get Heath Bars sent over though for Heath Bar Crunch - a particular fave of mine.

Well, p1ke, you're coming along with these interest for certain, huh? I love ice cream and like the majority of the population, vanilla flavored is my favorite. Any of the vanillas; french, vanilla bean, plain vanilla, whatever. I don't buy any other than the vanillas.

I like the Pistachio flavor if not coffee crumble. I like ice cream that has nuts on it cause it adds a little flavor. I don't like those with fruits cause I like fruits just the way they are no creams.

My husband and I both really love chocolate chip mint ice cream. YUMMY! Our favourite. When we first met, we saw eachother's answers on one of those funny little e-mail friend surveys, and under "favourite ice cream" we both put down the same flavour. LOL

I hate chocolate and strawberry ice cream. I am more of a plain vanilla or absolutely anything that has pineapple bits in it. There is never a day I can go to my grocery shop and not pick some up. Sorry to hear about your strict diet. Is ice cream then forbidden in your home in total? Just wanted to know in case I drop by I stop at the baskin robbins first.
