Good intentions - but it's way better to read the FAQs/Guidelines

So as I am doing my regular work here in myLot, I have noticed one night that my earnings decreases by few cents, about 0.05 or 0.07 if I am not mistaken. I've checked my earnings at once and I'm very curious why this happened. It actually bothers me cause it means that I have done something wrong or I violated the guidelines. Since I cannot figure out as to why this occurred it rendered me restless for a few hours. But it did not stop me on doing my work at that moment. And then I have decided to look into the FAQs and the myLot guidelines once again. It is not my practice to read guidelines and I have regretted such action of mine cause after reading the guidelines I have found the answer to my problem. The reason that my earnings decreases was that I have a lot of responses to discussions that were deleted or that discussions that violated the myLot Guidelines. It is so because when I see someone who violates the rules before I report them to the admin I first call their attention and advice them to read the guidelines first in order for them to not commit the same mistakes twice. I'm doing this to help others to have a quality post in order to maximize their earnings here, cause this is how other myLotters guide me then when I was a newbie here in myLot. But doing so has its consequences. So I guess I just have to stop doing what I did and just choose quality discussions to respond to. And another thing is that I should review and read the GUIDELINES again till it sticks to my mind. Have you experience the same thing.

I had a huge number of responses deleted because the discussions in which I wrote them were deleted due to violation of the guidelines. Now I try to be more careful when I chose a topic to respond, but I can't say I always succeed in this. I think that if you report a discussion, it is useless to lose time to explain that user where is his mistake. You can, at most, write a link to the guidelines to tell him where is the fault. And adding a tag like "guideline violation" can help, too.

Well I usually tend to overlook saying anything or reporting anyone when they are newer unless I make sure they refer to the FAQs of the site first, and learn from their mistakes. Because personally there are times when something is deleted that may not always be against the FAQ's as well, but if you learn what is required here you help yourself earn more $$ usually in the long run as well.

I also had alot of my comments deleted when I first started on mylot. I also had a discussion deleted as well. In some cases I think reading the guidelines is imperative. If you have discussions deleted on a regular basis then it is only common sense to find out why. It is better to know what you are doing wrong so you can avoid it. Some people just learn the hard way though. It is not the quantity of discussions or comments but the quality!

I have never had any of my discussions deleted, but I have had many responses deleted because the responses were posted under discussions that eventually got deleted. It happens to all of us at one time or another. I know it can get frustrating when it happens as you would think that users would read the guidelines firs so as not to violated them, but they come in here thinking that the rules don't apply to them, and so therefore they will start posting, and wonder later why they got deleted. I also will help others when I realize that the discussion will be deleted, and I explain to them as to why it would be deleted. I know that I will lose earnings when that happens, but I am not here for the money anyway, as I am here to learn and not just earn, however, earning a little bit here and there is nice. Most of the time, when I know that a discussion will get deleted, it is our responsibility to help those that need help. Take care, and happy mylotting.

Wow, you are so good and meticulous in following rules and guidelines. I read them but I lost it somewhere and did not bother to look for it. If my discussion or responses or comments got deleted then be it. Have fun.

I think we all violated the guidelines when we first started on myLot. I had my a discussion deleted and a few responses to other discussions also deleted. I would take the email alerts and the guidelines simultaneously and it really helped me a lot. Each time I read a discussion it is like the guidelines are engraved in my brain. Because of my high participation I do try to help a great deal of members so that they too can succeed. Many members are told and or read on the net that all they have to do is post. So they really to not have any set guidance and often times I have seen many members instantly leave on their first day from either the disappointments or suspended. So I try to help a lot here because myLot is a wonderful community and I would like to see more and more succeed. I am very happy and proud to read your discussion because it shows that you were not about to give up and put forth the extra efforts into succeeding. I feel bad when members are misguided. My hats of to you and continue with your wonderful success!

unah you finally have seen what I as an older user have preached and preached here to newer mylotter, that is read all the mylot information as it will save you lost earning.now you can see for yourself what I tried to tell others. I do not lose my own discussions as I have read the rules but at times I on purpose lost responses to try and tell newcomers to read all the mylot information it really pays to know what you can and cannot do in making discussions. so many here get angry at me for telling them to read the information for 'themselves but its the best way to really remember it for yourself.Unahbe prepared for some to tellyou you were not help and get mad at you but it does happen. I guess they just want you to take an hour to write it all down in your response for them which is unfair as they can read it just like you and I did. take care, hugs from hatley.

Nope, maybe that happened to me. That's really sad cause I get excited to a question without knowing they did something wrong or not, I only answer those discussions I like, that I feel moved or compeled by
