Hello my dear.
Sorry to barge in your topic but i can relate to the topic so I am taking the liberty of responding as well.
I am also trying to loose weight. I started in february this year, and i am down about 5,5 kg for now, from 100.3 at 94.7 according to my electronic scale.
I have cut down in sweets and bread and increased the consumption of oranges as the main action for proceeding with weight loss. I have also ate 1 week mostly cabbage soup made with cabbage, carrots, peppers, hot peppers and water.
Maybe this will help you.
Take care dear.

Yes, I do believe that I need to lose weight and I wanted to lose weight so that I can feel good about myself again. been thru 2 pregnancies and my tummy is all sloppy and fat! I cant fit into my pants again w/c actually disappoints me. It is hard to redo your closet not to mention that clothes are really expensive and not my necessity nowadays.
I wanted to lose weight as fast as I could, but sacrifice is better than words, I never really find the time to exercise not because I dont have it but because I am really lazy. I have to get up and do it! :D

laziness is most of ours problem and it is obvious i feel. ladies have so many jobs to be done, like cooking, taking care of kids and family and all this is too much and working women has even more problem and in this taking exercises is really hectic but if we want to gain something we need to lose something, right?

Absolutely you should go for a diet and exercise. Lessen your carb intake and take more fruits especially ripe papaya and oranges together with leafy veggies it cleans your digestive system. Sweet potato is recommended instead of rice for having a lowcarb intake.

I really have to lose weight really. Especially now that Im 5 months pregnant and had to undergo 2 months of bed rest. My OB Gyne instructed me to slow down with my food intake because she's afraid that I might acquire diabetis and hypertension while i am pregnant. Aside from being fat, I am now getting bigger because of too much food intake I am having for the last six months. I am very addicted with sweets specially and it really frightened me knowing that it could harm the baby. I would exercise and aim to lose weight the moment I deliver this baby of mine, being overweight is unhealthy plus the fact that its not very good to look at when someones' fat or overweight. Good night!

i think during pregnancies we can just eat what we like and i can understand that there is always a tension of getting fatter but we cant even give off eating thinking about the baby, so i suggest you better try to eat as much fruits and remain far of from too oily dishes and this is the way where you can too much of fat and also the baby can get the required nutrition, all the best.

Hi icegermany,
I took total control of my weight immediately after having both kids, at least back then I thought I did. Back then I was a horrible roller coaster dieter. Kept me slim but I was starving all the time. So finally a few years later I took a healthy approach. Something I did not think was possible.
I bought a really great exercise bike and began drinking loads of water, I had never drank water ever before this, I began eating properly and in 4 months I lost 60 pounds. I was not overweight at the time but I managed to get my metabolism to increase. Since then I still exercise for cardio only 30 minutes for 5 days a week, still drinking water and am able to ear well 3 - 4 meals a day with healthy snacks in between.
This has helped me and I am able to eat as normal. I do substitute from time to time where I will skip the thousand island dressing and use vinaigrette. Things like that.

yes I do. I'm in a constant fight with my weight. this is due to the fact that I like sweets...especially chocolate. I simply adore it and if I have a chocolate I have to eat it...I can't resist

but i think to follow a diet and to excercise it is important to have a self control, to give up eatables which we like the most and cant remain far off.

I have had 3 children and I have put on a lot of weight. I also was put on Implanon which tricks your body into thinking it's pregnant for 3 years! Now that I'm no longer on that birth control I hate what my body has become. My oldest daughter is very tall and struggles with weight attitudes because she has been told by kids at school that she is fat, but she isn't. And I told her that when she grows up she could be as fat as me and it wouldn't be fat on her because she is so tall. Her reply was 'Mommy, if I have 3 kids I HOPE I'm as fat as you.' I had to laugh and appreciate her beautiful attitude about my weight.
I don't want to try to lose weight right now. I do want to focus on being healthy. If losing weight happens from that, okay. If not... I'm not going to cry about it. My boyfriend and I are going to the YMCA sometime this coming week to try to sign up for memberships so we can work out and try to be healthier.

Losing weight can be vey difficult. I am not overweight, but I gain weight very easily. I can't afford to go buy a new wardrobe, so I always try to watch what I eat. I exercise almost everyday. At first I did it to lose weight, now I do it because I am disabled, and don't want my muscles to atrophy. Plus I use my arms a lot, so I do a lot of exercises with hand weights and stuff. The best way to lose it, is probably to exercise and cut back on your intake. There is a website that might help you. It is called Sparkpeople.com. It is free and there are a lot of exercises, tips, challenges, recipes and lots more. If nothing else it might motivate you to exercise more knowing that you will have something to post. Good Luck!

When I had my accident and had to take bed rest for a few months I too had put on a lot of weight. After trying several methods I finally decided to skip my dinner and instead have a snack early part of the evening. I ate a lot of fruits too. This yielded the desired results. May be the night dinner gets absorbed as there is no exercise. Just a hunch.

Yes, I do think that from time to time. And then what I do is usually to cut down on carbs for a while, until I lose the weight I want to get rid of. I can highly recommend a low carb diet, it works for me every time!

i think you are right a low carbohydrate diet is very important but it is going to be difficult for me as we are used to eating tasty dishes, non-veg and all so cutting down that is difficult.

Us girls have a physiology that causes us to store energy. While pregnant our bodies prepare for so many things, we are physically geared to become a food source and as such hormones and a few other triggers get tripped...human milk has more nutrients and fats than any other mammal, the antibodies we've built up over our lives are stored in tissues, some of them are fatty tissues, and the antibody 'factories' are open for business and in over time.
We also fail to understand that all our muscles have been to a different use the last few months...some muscles are stronger than they were previously, some have gone into a 'rest', and some have been forced to stretch unbelievably!
We think we are fat, and yes we have added some fatty tissue, but mostly it's a toning issue. Our muscles have become lazy, they need help to get motivated to move back into position and do the job they have done previously.
If you want to do crunches and sit ups, fine, won't hurt a thing. If you want to spend time and money on the gym, that's great. But if you'd rather not, walk.
Yep, that's all there is to it, walk.
Walking engages all the muscles in the legs, ankles and feet, of course we all know this, but did you know that walking also engages the muscles of the abs? Both upper and lower abs?
Adding some light weights contributes to toning the arms and pectoral muscles, yes ladies, we have those too...
So load up that stroller and take a hike!
Now diet, we all like to think we can remove items from our diet and loose weight, and it does work...problem is we usually end up putting those things back and the weight war is on.
We can easily reduce some of our intake, fewer carbs, smaller portions, we can also change our eating habits. Our bodies aren't geared for the way we've been taught to eat. Three squares a day isn't what we really need. We are built as snackers...yep, snacks. A light breakfast, a snack, a light lunch, another snack, a small dinner, and yet another snack...
Small meals give our digestive systems time to catch up. And since it is always in 'work mode' our digestive system will reject the carbs we don't need for energy eliminating them from our system. No need to store food when there is no threat of starvation.
So to put it in it's most simple form, take long walks, walk at a goodly pace, divide your meals into smaller ones more often, and skip the chocolate bar now and then.

As I real woman, also I want to lose weight, because I always seem to have a big and fat . Total've lost 25kg - so I was very fat teenager. Now I am satisfied with my weight, but the coming summer and 1-2 kg I would still lose. Now I refuse from cakes, biscuits and avoids a lot to eat bread and pasta.I know for beach season, I will be healthy thrown off the weight, not to the detriment of the body

yes, cakes, pastries, biscuits and most of the baked items consist of butter and accumulate to much of fat in body and hence possibilities of getting fatter, better to avoid and good luck to lose weight.

Sorry to barge in like this.
I can relate to your experience. My wife had the same problem. Now she had lose around 20 Kgs and now trying to loose another 15 Kgs to be her ideal weight. As for me I am still at 80++ Kgs :)
My wife did a lot of diets and consume so many different weight lost remedies previously with no better result. until she went to a sliming establishment and got some counseling from a specialist and dietitian.
Now she follows what I consider a better diet and detoxification regime.
I can give you he secrete if you want, But I don't promise immediate change. This took her a minimum of 2 years to see a difference.
I think it is worth the struggle since now family members and friends says she look younger, slimmer and better looking. Someone even said that she look like a fair maiden :)
Now I feel it a challenge, I need to loose my spare tire.

I am a guy, sorry if you don't want to hear from a guy, but anyway, do I think that you need to lose weight? All the time. Diet don't help unless coupled with exercise. But time is another factor to consider. If no time on hand, how to exercise?

No .. actually it's hard to lose weight. It's like you are restricting yourself to eat food. that's why I hate diets. I want to be free to eat anything I want. :) Besides, I'm not that fat so losing weight is not necessary. Have a nice day! :)
