What movies have you disappointed?

I challenge you today to talk about something that I myself off for some time. And expectations we have when we go to a movie! I went to very many movies and I rarely happened to me a deep dislike. Then I look around me and see the disappointment on their faces. Sensing that my face looks much different, I start to wonder what they expected when they decided to see the movie ... When you go to an action movie with lots of fights and explosions, it's not like you expect intelligent dialogue. None of the futuristic mega-stories like Tron in the fighting on different machines do everything you can not expect masterpieces. Choosing to go to a movie with a humor as a special trailer, you can not expect that among those extracted scenes, the humor is of another type. If you do not adjust their expectations, it's like reading a glossy magazine and something of Dostoevsky wants to have a similar effect on you. It is absolutely impossible! There is animation for children who are too childish, too cheesy romantic comedy, film too bloody battles and explosions (to tell you that at the end of Gladiator anyone had one opinion - too much blood?). Similarly, you can not go to drama, hoping to not get depressed or an English comedy, humor Hollywood waiting! You, what expectations you go to different types of movies? How often do you disappointed? What movies have you disappointed?

It's been a while since I've been disappointed in a film (Though I have only been to see Harry Potter in the last few months and that could never disappoint!) but two that stand out to me are 'Dan in Real Life' and 'Coraline'. Dan in Real Life had no real plot, it wasn't funny, it didn't provoke any emotion what so ever. I walked out of the cinema before this film had even ended, pointless waste of my life. Coraline I was expecting this cute little film for children that's lighthearted and sweet. Wrong. It was one of the creepiest film's I'd ever seen, I would never let children go to see it.

had you not heard of Neil Gaiman? he does do a lot of childrens stories, but they are quite dark. I loved Coraline, but then it was as I expected it to be. I've always liked childrens films that are a bit on the scary side. and on the whole, children seem to enjoy it that way too. I recently watched a childrens film called The Hole. that was really sinister. I loved it. my husband went to bed because he found it too scary.

Do not follow, usually Bollywood movies, I've only seen in childhood, was "daisy chain", which I know I adored at the time. Usually movies which stand out from many others, call them "movies on Sunday afternoon, " meaning to relax and pass time faster! Thanks for the reply.

I think that Bruce Willis die hard 4, the last one. The story was terrible, I couldn't believe they did that to die hard. It was painful to watch and I went to the theater, when I spend that money I really expect to be seeing a good movie.

Movies for children and the family are non-offensive production with a high morale and last but not least, fun which do not include subjects or scenes of violence, foul language, defamation, profanity, discrimination, religious or otherwise. Children's Movies are often fantasies with wild and imaginative themes, issues that involve travel, friendly creatures and supernatural beings, and the scenery is fantastic, somewhere overseas, so I sure do not disappoint us never.Thanks.

The last movie I saw that was really disappointing was The Last Exorcism. I love horror movies and I liked the other Exorcism movies. This movie failed to keep my attention. The ending was absolutely horrible because it changes from the possession them to a whole other scenario.

I agree with you. Promising idea, but what a shame it came out, I was expecting something more exciting, the essence of something, I do not know ... is a movie made ??in an unconventional manner, but did not take advantage of it to convey any emotion, like the Blair Witch Project, to which we "shake" for most of the visionaries.Thanks.

I personally love comedy movies and i always expect good humor and entertainment from them. But recently i've been disappointd by lots of comedy movies. I don't find charm in them anymore. I think action movies are doing good these days, so i have shifted to this genre. I hope i don't disappointed anymore!

I understand what you mean, indeed many of today's comedy is lacking, and lost their charm, humor. Let me recommend to you some light comedy that deserves viewed, in my opinion: She `s the man (the title says it all), Little Man (it's a great movie, a male dwarf who steals a diamond, it hides purse from a woman who is following, and take the diamond back to pose as a baby), Eurotrip, ... and I could go on ...Thanks.

it all comes down to expectation. I try to go into films with an open mind, and as a result I'm rarely properly disappointed. the main disappointments I can think of. Where the Wild things are. completely lacking in the charm of the book. Let Me In. don't get me wrong, I thought it was a good film and I enjoyed it. but as a fan of Let the right one in, I don't think it added anything to the story at all. it was too similar. which just goes to show that people remaking a film can't get it right. we complain if they do change things, but if they don't, then it's pointless remaking it at all. so I was disappointed because it didn't bring anything new to the plate. and then you get things that are disappointing, not because you expected them to be better, but because they COULD have been better really easily, but the effort wasn't there. like Silent Hill. brilliantly atmospheric. visually fascinating. no plot. if it had a plot it would have been quite an engrossing and creepy film, instead it was like watching someone play the computer game.

Indeed, I think we have all seen enough movies that we can adjust your expectations. "Let Me In " is a tired remake, made ??by Americans, for lack of occupation, nor does it compare to the original, "Let the right one in ". In contrast, Silent Hill is unusual and fascinating two hours of horror style, who enjoy movies that are on the line between horror and science fiction, a movie that, once seen, give the thought of any audience.

a lot of movies that disappointed me are those that were inspired by books.it quite disappoints me or I find them mediocre, especially if I read the book.I read and watched both Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code.I adore the books.I love Dan Brown.I also like Tom Hanks who starred in both movies, but I am not really a fan of the movies.the books were a lot more fun than the movies.

I agree with you. I saw 7-8 screenings that I read the book and movie in a few cases has risen to my expectations. It is normal to lose detail when adapt a book (details in many cases, are fantastic and it's a shame to lose them), but some movies go too far and change the story, especially for commercial purposes, to be more accessible movie. That's why, many times, I prefer the book instead of movie. I have a good visual image and I do my own "movie. "Thanks.

There were so many movies which disappointed me that I would have to mention a whole list here, but I would limit myself to the first two titles which come to my mind:'Clash of the Titans' and 'Gulliver's travels';honestly, watching these movies is a real waste of time, and there are only two examples of the fact that in American cinema quantity prevails over quality. There are so many other movies about which I have to say that I don't even remember their titles, that's how much they 'impressed'me.

Obviously, we each have a long list of movies that have disappointed us. Referring to those I mentioned to you, I can only approve you. Gulliver's Travels' is mediocre, with indulgence. Without substance, a true monument of stupidity, the American-style thin cerebellum, and Clash of the Titans', besides the special effects, and the game Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes, it seems a disaster movie. Thanks.

I think in english films the expectation are even more and more when watching the cinema at the theatre. The very disappoint movie how we can disappoint with that movie. The audience will only tell how the movie is,there are some type of full of action graphics visual effects a flying soccers diffent world and they created a different worlds in cinema's. See the transformers see the car will be arranged in to robots see that expectations about the director michel bay one of the best directors in the world.

Michael Bay is a very good director, showed up with two movies, Pearl Harbor or Armaggedon. Unfortunately, for me, Transformers series, I'm not impressed. The only movie with robots that I really liked was Wall-E. Thanks.

You are right. The movie is weak and disappointing lack of essence, one of the worst sites of SF-2010 ... there was plenty of low-budget that is because most of the action takes place in a building, of actors I did not heard, and the alien design seemed to be inspired by Crysis, who has played knows what I'm talking ... during the movie feels a little tension, but rather that, apart from times when the special effects you anymore waking up from numbness does not go out with nothing special. And the end is predictable and downright stupid! , Wants to say, a single monster (with thoughts of man's brain) will be able to save the farmers? Thanks.
