Fringe: where it is and where it could have been.

There's a lot going on in the third season of Fringe. The script is good, and for sure it tickles the eyes of the sci-fi fans as the story evolves on various levels: personal, scientific and the recently revamped love between two of the main characters, Olivia and Pete.
But...the audience is not giving this TV show a lot of satisfaction, why is it so (in you opinion of course)?
Personally I think that the first two seasons kinda "cut the legs" of the show. The first season was particularly slow and I think that most people who ran by accident into any episode of that season got bored easily. The ideas were there but the many episodes that were not linked to each other....I don't know, that was probably not a good move. I have the same thoughts about the second season, at least part of it, but come on, what do you think about it?

Fringe is one of those shows that you have to pay attention to every scene to keep up with what is going on. I don't think that people are bored with it but that it just requires every bit of attention that you have to give to it. There is always so much going on that if you look away or have to go into another part of the house, you miss out on so much of the plot. I got mixed up with the two Olivias and two Petes.

You are right, but what I meant is slightly different.
The third season is not slow at all and it's having decent results as in number of audience. But I think these results could have been much better if the first two series (or at least one and a half) would have been better, with not so many stand alone episodes for example....

I think so. For the first season, the story has no connection between each episode, therefore i guess they get bored when they watch season 1 and didn't continue to watch season 2. I think the story become very interesting when they mention about the other world, especially season 3. It is such a nice drama series.
