Do you think cold soup is disgusting?
My mum always used to make Gazpacho - the Spanish Cold Soup in the summer and as a kid I had no choice, but to eat it. I hated it and still do. It had a disgusting taste and I wonder what anyone else thinks. Are there other cold soups?

Hi Mickie
I am Hispanic too and have never heard of Gazpacho. I have never had any cold soup because some how my brain is conditioned to thinking soup is suppose to be hot.
I don't believe I would ever try any kind of cold soup. Where does Gazpacho come from?

Gazpacho, is part of the national dishes of mainland Spain and the Baleric islands. It is primarily, a tomato based soup, flavoured with garlic, cucumber, red and green peppers, lemon juice, and bread to add consistancy. It should be eaten cold but I have known people who have heated it up. For me it is very tasty.

Hi. Mickie30. I don't think that I could ever eat cold soup. In fact, I don't think that I have ever had cold soup at all. I could not imagine eating something cold that was meant to be hot. I don't think that this would be pleasing at all.

Some soups are meant to be eaten cold and I don't think they'd be very good hot! Cucumber soup would be awful if it were hot, so would avocado soup. Some of the others would be fine hot, like pea and mint (which I don't care for anyway).
Some soups are made from fruits and those are better cold.

I think cold soup is just a soup. sometimes i like it to eat cold soup. I try to always pray to The Most Merciful before eating it. but i think majority of people want to eat soup in warm or hot condition. by the way, eat cold or normal temp soup or anything else is good for our digestive system. Alhamdulillah.

I never eat soup unless it is hot I could not imagine eating soup cold! Yuck!! I feel sorry that you had to eat it cold. Maybe you can warm it up next time in the microwave or on top of the oven? Have a good day!

OOPS..looks like I am the odd woman out here! I truly love, any form of cold soup...I guess I have just "wrapped my head around the fact" that cold soup can/is delicious! Gazpacho...Cucumber..Tomato Bisque, Iced broth, the very popular German "fruit zoops"! I truly love them all, on a hot day, for lunch or a meal started at supper. Count me in...as one of the "yeah" sayers! Cheers!

Honestly I've never tried Gazpacho. My family doesn't really eat soup so I don't buy alot of soups that are not cream soups or Ramen noodle type as they slop the broth all over and don't eat it anyways. When I was a kid I loved this canned veggie soup that I would just eat it cold out of the can... plus then I didn't have to wash a bowl either ;0)

Hahaha Mickie30! My mother told me about Gazpacho two days ago. I haven´t tried it but she did. And she loved it. We were talking about strange uses of the avocado. And about an avocado "juice", what weird. Here at home (yours too) we all prefer the hot soups, specially on winter. Blessings!... Dainy

For me it depends on the weather, on a hot summers day there is nothing better than Gazpacho soup, I find it so tasty and full of different flavours. Hot soups are more for winter days, when I need to warm up inside. I always view soup not so much as a meal but as an alternative to a drink. I guess it is their liquidness after all we don't actually eat soup we do actually drink it.
