Seeing the super moon is amazing.

The super moon. - Taken just shortly before the moon reaches the front of my house.

I've been outside braving the cold to take pictures of the super moon. It is quite large, I've never seen it like that, and it's an amazing sight to see. I will be taking more pictures, even got a little video of it as well. I certainly hope that this moon doesn't bring any destruction as scientists claim it could, that would not be a good thing at all. Here's a picture of the moon prior to it being over my house. I'm waiting for it to get closer to get some more shots.

Looks nice. I am so out of the loop that I didn't even know anything special was going on. The only thing that would have made it any different to me would be to see it against something else but black sky for comparison (like a house or something). It might defeat your purpose, but it would make it easier to compare it to a regular full moon. Thanks for sharing!

hi, yes nature is god gift and nature shows wonderful thins as well as hard things like Japan tsunami.Only we can enjoy the good and feel sorry for the bad.Nothing else we can do.I also saw and went through the television stories and programs regarding this super moon and its effects on the earth.Nothing happened which we thought many frightened saying many fake things .We shd be thankful that nothing harm had happened to mankind with this supermoon.

Yes a friend rang me last night telling me to go have a look, it was very bright but I haven't heard anything about it being destructive in any way....

It's still early, so who knows what will happen, if anything.

I've heard about this, but I didn't have the chance to see it, for whatever strange reason. Unusual, since I can usually see the moon from my front porch, or when I'm coming home late at night, but for some reason I missed the super-moon. Glad I saw the last eclipse, though. Hubby and I watched it on the front porch.

I went out at moonrise to see the big moon and it was beautiful. I thought about opening a discussion about it but then figured someone would do it and held off. I don't have a camera and would have definitely used it. I watched the moon from the first little peek over the horizon until it was about an hour up into the sky. This area of the country is cloudy tonight and they thinned out enough for the moonrise to be seen well. I doubt that I'll be around in 20 yrs when it is to be this close again.

I tried to get a few shots as well, but I have a new camera and didn't do s well with the moon. A lot of my FB friends have posted pictures though. I will need to take a free photography course online, if I can find one. Great picture.

hi there, I saw that on news last night! Wow! That was really big. I went outside and I can't see it. Hahaha! I guess the giant clouds are hiding it. Anyway, I'll be watching it later and I hope I could get a picture of it like you do.

Too bad I wasn't able to have even a glimpse of it. I was really excited to see it. I wasn't able to see it because I am not allowed to go downstairs so I could go out. Because going down and up tires me and its bad for my condition as pregnant. I even ask my hubby to go and see it for himself but he was busy working. I also asked my friends to capture it on their high res camera, but they were out on an outing and sleep early and wasn't able to get a shot. Then I saw those photos in yahoo page. It really is amazing. So bright and its like in a movie wherein a werewolf or a vampire might come out. lol

That is a really nice close up picture so I suspect you have a great camera. I have been indoor during the night hours so I have not had a chance to really see it. I am hoping the speculations are inaccurate and all will be fine. Thanks for sharing the lovely picture.

So sad that I wasn't able to watch the supermoon, it's already morning here right now and I can no longer see the moon. I was waiting for it early this morning here in my country but it looks like it's just an ordinary full moon. Give us soon the link of you video should you post it in youtube so we can take a glimpse of it. Thanks!
