Let me explain further since titles can't be too long.
I've denied a request 3 times from a user with no activity, the user keeps sending requests and I'm getting tired of it.
I can't post usernames, so I wont, but this one is really getting annoying.
I have a good feeling that the user just wants to spam, not make discussions or respond to them, and I'm just waiting for another request to report the user for this.
Please watch out for users like this and report them if they do spam you, it's against the terms.

Why a user join mylot if he/she didn't post any thing here?
I belive you are right he might want to scam? but have gone through his profile and check what exactly he do. just check it out.
About the friend request many of us do to get attraction on mylot discussion. We also do so to have more people take part in our discussion. Our main intention is to let them take part in our discussion.

Rajeev, welcome to Mylot. You are right, people who do not want to be active should not be here. We all request people if we like their discussions and think they would contribute to ours. Obviously you do this, you have the number 85 in your ratings right now. It is people who have no posts, responses or comments that are very likely to be abusing MyLot

Hello Kris,
They were some people that had been actively adding me even though they have low number of post, rejected their request but simply kept adding me. until i ignore them for months and then removed them, they never come back. it's just pure and simple, let them stay in the friends request and then delete them when they're no longer active.

I'd prefer not to have many outstanding requests on my list, it gets to be annoying.
I have a request of another user that's been pending for a while now and they knew that I was making the request.
It looks like this one may have started again, and I'll figure it out soon.

I got a request from the same girl twice. I always look at their info before I decide to accept them or not. I decided I did not want to be-friend this girl, so I denied her. I did notice that she didn't start and discussions, nor did she answer any discussions. A few days later, she sent me a friend request again....and I denied her. If she happens to send me another one, I will look into how to block people.

Yes i do get request from people with no activity. But i didn't deny them i just add them.because i do believe that they will be active one day and will start there work and may be after see my activity may be that get courage and can start there work. And if i do add them then nothing will happen to me but i don't add them then may be they will get hurt so i just add them.
Have a good time!

I haven't noticed anything like this happening to me here at mylot. I know there are a few inactive users but sometimes, it's quite difficult to keep track of them. Anyways, I notice that I get lots of friend request from newbies though. I haven't thought of checking my older mylot friend users for their activities. Maybe I'll do it later. I love having lots of friends here at mylot because I get to see more interesting discussions I can respond to. Happy mylotting to you and best of luck.

Been there, and done that. I had one that would not quit requesting. I had added him twice, and he had spammed me twice. I just left him pending until he disappeared.

Hi Dear Kris! I too have done this at least for three times to a member who has got no discussions or responses to his credit and I have observed this member's name in many people's profile as their friend! these people are interested in sending the spams in personal mails! So it is always better to stay away from such members! Thanks !

Thanks for the warning. I got a few friend requests recently from newer members so I accepted them. If they do start spamming me I will delete them and report them. Have a great week!!!

I sure have! I have one reuesting friendship right now but will keep them in limbo! They tried to get my friendship recently and I did delete them! They are back and I know deleting them again will make them try and try again! That has happen before and I will never add a friend if they are just here to get people on their website or to get referrals or not be active at all on Mylot! They aren't worth it!

I deny some requests just now. Looking at it I figure that this people just want to accumulate their contact for some form of business or something.
They seems persistent but actually it is just programming and daily cut and paste routine for them.
I agree they should be stopped.

This has happened to me before. When I first joined mylot, I was pretty much accepting friend request from anybody, it thought it was ok, didn't think much of it. Until I keep getting messages from a user with no account activity. He was pretty much a spam user or trying to get referrals. I must say, mylot is a great way to get referrals but if you have no account activity, you're just using mylot and I didn't like that. So I considered it spam. Deleted him and keep mylotting!

Just let hem sit there, don't deny them or approve them. I used to accept everyone, now I look to see if they are just wanting to collect lots of friends. If they are new and just collecting friends to have a big number, I don't accept them. I let them sit there.

Yes, once and i accepted the friend request not knowing this particular person had no activity here. i usually read the profiles of anyone who requests me as a friend and wish i had done so with this person as well, who, one day after accepting, pm'd me requesting i join his money making opportunity.i didn't report him but did pm him back telling him that i was not interested in his offer and to please stop sending messages to me.i would have reported him if this continued, but he stopped doing it.
