This is all part of social skills I guess. Some useful tips to break the ice would be to put on a friendly smile, get the other party to tell you more about him or herself. You should try to initiate conversations whenever possible. At least it beats having awkward silence.

Yeah. I know. I am the part of a HR team. I know how to intearct with the better than anyone else here. We people beleive in Give Good, Take Better. A single smile & A single appreciation makes even our enemy happy when he succeeds. A single Back hand makes one feel better when he is disappointment. This all are Human studies yaar. Its a Matter of diversity, & it depends on the situation Person & everything in the scene counts ro it.
