I heard someone saying creativity decreases with age as humans have the tendency to do the old job in the same way which they use to do before rather than trying it in a new way....As a software guy, I do it....I don't know about others?? What do you say??

I suppose this might be true to others but it all depends on how we struggle with life. I used to be creative, I make video presentations, edit videos, design graphics etc. These things are what I'm fond doing about 5 yrs ago. When I got a home-based job under accounting department, I noticed that my daily routine is the same as always. I deal with numbers everyday. I when I try to video editing or graphic designing, it's not that I don't know how to do it anymore. But maybe because my mind is pretty exhausted to even think. Creativity is thinking. So when your mind is fully loaded, it might be hard to try some new ways. This is true to me but it might not be the same with others.

Thanks for your response...you have rightly said...it is not only true to you but for most others...whenever we do something and stop doing it for a while, it will take time inorder to get back on the stuff....but we need to struggle hard to keep up the good work and it needs good memory and effort too...

I guess creativity decreases with age but it also depends on the person. If you're gonna do things the same way you're doing it for years, it's definitely gonna close up your creativity but if you're always willing to try something new then even with age, your creativity will just multiply.

but my question is when we are doing the same thing again and again why we stop trying new ways....I know that we will loose our creativity if we continously repeat the same thing again and again....

I am not sure I believe this at all. I live in an area that at the moment has many retirees and older people. Many of them have taken on hobbies and crafts to pass the time and or make extra cash for their households. These include everything from knitting, quilting and painting to wood carving, furniture making, and decoy making. I think too many think of creativity as being only new ideas but creativity can come out in many different ways. I also think that too many are addicted to the computer and real creative skills have become lost or are believed to be nothing m,ore then old fashioned when in fact it takes much artistic and creative abilities to do these crafts.
