Sounds weird but it's real. People loves internet but why there are still people not dependent on the internet specially if you compared to television. Due to our latest technology people now can used the computer as television if they have internet connection. Why we still spend money to pay bills for our electricity that consume on watching television. What if we only used computer and everything is there. Television also starting to upgrade, you can used your television now as computer.
In your own opinion, is there any possibility to fuse this two and make it one, then we used only in our home either computer or television to minimize our power consumption. Why we used to if it's possible to use one. Aside from that you will not spend another bucks to buy another thing if one unit is all in one function.

There are some things I like the TV for using more than the computer, and vice versa.
I can't see why many people still wait patiently to hear a weather forecast on the TV, when they have a computer nearby that they could use to find the results in a 20th of the time.

Habitual activity(a habit), plus some people could be too lazy to do a bit of typing.
(I would rather do a little bit of work to find the weather in 30 seconds, instead of sitting in a chair waiting 20 minutes to hear it).

No this is not possible for any to use only one you can say computer user is more than TV user but you cannot say this two make it one. Because TV can see more people at time like big boss can whole family in one TV but Computer cant use more than one at a time.
If you are using TV in Computer then you not do other work so TV is TV and Computer is Computer both the functions are separate dont mix it okkkk

The usage maybe it will not the same or not possible but in terms of product it is possible to combine this two inventions and they can make it one unit. Now, you can watch TV programs on your PC or laptop and some company television you can surf the net but a little bit hard due to limited features.

Hello julyteen. You have nice idea that we can use our computer as television with the help of internet. But we need some advance technology in computer to use as television. In television we can change channels in just second that way we can watch news, music, moovies that easily. Also In India every channel don't have live streaming on website. If we can overcome these difficulties,It will be a great idea to use one unit for TV and computer.
Happy mylotting.

With the latest technology we have and the people or the company produces TV and Computer will not stop to find things that will amazed their customers.

i think tv has the remote control which makes us feel "commander". But pc has the mouse makes us feel "worker".

Well that is expected TV has existed long before the internet is. You can just imagine the TV generations which we all belong and a internet is just starting to expand. I think there will come a time that the two technologies would be fused into one. Bit for now of course they are still separate because there are generations that loved it than internet.

The place also where we arrange our TV set is different. It's nice to watch programs on the TV while lying on bed or lying in a long sofa. You cannot do it using your laptop or desktop. Although you can do the same position but the reception of the programs might vary from each other.

yes i think there is the possibility to take them together and so internet and tv together...i think in many cases there isn't the interest from amjor brands to give you a device or a pc really capable to substitute all other dedicated devices also because if you consider money if you have 1 device multifunction should be good for you nd may be you cna save but major brands sell few products..and so in my opinion there is the interest that pc should stay a pc nd television a tv and stop.

I think known brands will not create an inventions putting one product from 2 or three functions because it will affect their sales and company financial stability. Atleast if they produce different products the sales will help alot of people specially appliances center who make their best to promote every product.

hi julyteen on the face it sounds terrific but also the companies that makie televisions are going to squak as are the computer onbly compan9ies and thus the invention will drag along for awhile also now c omputers are not so darned high more than one member in a family will want to be on the computer at the same time. for me the boob tube is mainly a waste of my time as the sitcoms are so damnably stupid they use laugh tracks just to get a laugh. yuck. the night programs now like CS I I would love to get on my computer. but I am so much more into real computers; than stupid boob tubes.

Hello july.
I think it is because perfect crystal television requires a very good internet connection, and it takes time to switch between programs, while having the tv set is a fast way.
As mentioned above, there are LCD / Plasma, monitors (that also have TV in them) and also, in my country, you have to pay for the public television EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A TELEVISION SET in your house - so no point in not having it at all, now is it ?
Having stable cable allows quick change between programs, and the user to stumble upon something he might like to see, even if he was not thinking about it at the time.

But if you combine the TV and computer into one device, how will people play on their PS/Wii/XBox and surf the net at the same time?
Plus, will it really help reduce power consumption? If you just turn off whatever you're not using, you'll have only one device on at a time, so there's no need to combine anything into anything.

Yes, i agree with you, i think maybe once if the technology can combine this two things and can sace energy and by combining these two things we can also save space at home or at our office.

I think tv and computer are too different. It depends on the uses. If I use computer for web surfing or to play it's possible to unit them, but if I use it for work (I'm an architect so I use a lot the computer) I can't work on a tv screen.
There are others way to save money as to switch completely off household appliances or electronic devides (no stand by mode).

Perhaps, because sitting in front of the TV is more comfortable as compared to staring into a computer for a show? I personally prefer linking my laptop to my TV and watching on the sofa whenever I have a movie on hand.
Umm... about the bills part, I'm not so sure. I think it's pretty much the same. For example, lets say you spend 3 hours watching TV. If you ditch your TV, you assume you save 3 hours of electrical bills. However, if you watch it on your computer/internet, then that 3 hours of electrical bills is counted anyway. So I'm not really sure what you mean. I'm pretty sure fusing both TV and Internet together is possible now, it's just that perhaps I'm not techno savvy enough and I'm really not sure about such things...

I respect you opinions my friend. I agree with you. Watching TV programs while away from the television set is more comfortable than watching infront of you desktop or laptop. You can place also your TV set in a higher level that will best for your position while you are setting in the sofa or while you are lying on your bed. Imagine to place your computer at the higher ground inside your bedroom, it difficult because the reception of your computer is affected.

We don't have a television at home. We only use the internet for everything, news, television drama, movies, information, weather etc. Internet is just like everything these days, we can find anything that we want on it. Couple months ago, we bought a new computer because we figured we can't watch the movies or videos faster with a better computer since we don't have a TV. Besides, the plan of the TV channel is so expensive and we don't watch every single one of the channels so it make most sense for us to not using televisions but computer only.

Hi, Julyteen.
We are living in such a period time where you ca not deny the possibly of anything. Personally I have already used my LCD TV as computer monitor.
The only thing I have not done or learnt is that on the TV I have not those accessory that is for computer or Internet.
Whatsoever the case, I would not be so at ease using my TV program through Internet. There is possibility that some day people get used to it and love it.

Hi july teen: I think your idea is great. In fact I rarely use my television these days. I think we have all the entertainment on the Internet. You can watch all tyhe things you want without waiting. You can also watch your favorite videos, the news, your series over and over again at no matter what time of the day while you can't do this on TV. I think it would be fantastic if they fuse these two technologies into one. Hopefully we'll see that in the near future.
