We got a new cat tree

The new cat tree - and the old ones

Well, last week some time, the top level of the old cat tree fell down. Now, I have to say that the cats have "loved" this cat tree a LOT. And it was about 5 years old. And its gotten some really hard usage. So, it was time to get another cat tree so the cats can get into the eyebrow window. So we brought it inside, rearranged the space so we could get it into where we wanted it. Well, before we could move it into place, Mo jumped on to it and then rode it into place, attacking the toy hanging from it. That's Timus, the white kitty, in the top, under him is Mo. Blossom is in the small tree, Rygel is walking between them, Daisy is swatting Rygel and Prissy is sniffing the old tree's ramp. way down in the bottom left is part of the new bike. So what have you done for your cats/pets/kids lately?

I don't have cats but my sister-in-law and younger brother do. They have 5 cats. Deana bought a cat tree for their cats for Christmas. She posted a photo of it on Facebook with all the cats on it. At first I thought the cats REALLY used it! My niece Randi, deana's daughter was not convinced! It turns out only one cat uses it and to get the photo taken with all 5 cats she put cat nip on the cat tree! I thought that was funny!

anything new must be investigated then the usage becomes more settled.

Hi Elic, They all look like they are having so much fun bless em! Other than giving my cats lots of love they haven't been bought any new toys lately, my son recently had a birthday and bought some lego from his gift money. Huggles. Ellie :D

Love it, let the roomie sit outside in the chair with the hidden toys and far more room for the cats to play!!!

Wow, they are huge...or the one on the left is. LOL. They are in a great pozzie too. Banjo has a little one. He broke the toy off long ago and he rarely uses it., although he does occasionally sit on the top. He has a cubby hole which he has explored but he does not sleep in there.

they got yet another pet bed so hopefully, they won't fight. they have many, but they all seem to want the same one. the other day my two boys nabbed their sister's window seat on purpose. ..the seat was rated for 35 pounds, and there was about 50 pounds of cat butt between the two.

Of course they want the same bed! Solo chased poor Elizabeth right out onto the porch yesterday, he's such a meanie... pretty good for a toothless cat who is almost 4 times her age! (she's 2 he's 7)

This gives me an idea for a project. Cat trees are really expensive here, so I'm thinking of just making 1, just a small simple one would do. We don't have much space here at home. Just yesterday I bought 2 bags of dry cat foot. My 3 kittens, Uno, Dos and Tres (Don't blame me for the names, my kid brother called them that cause they can't think of any other name for the trio). Are growing up to be really big cats. They're really big, considering they're probably just 2-3 months old. Last saturday, I picked up a carton of pet milk and a feeding bottle for my newest baby, Kaimi :)

So the baby is still doing well? I'm so glad to hear that. The roomie and I had been talking of making a tree, but honestly, its more work than the two of us really want to get into... can you say - "lazy"?

Yes. The baby's doing great! I think he's finally considered me as his mommy. After feeding him, he cries cause he's sleepy and is looking for a snug place, when I pick him up, he stops crying. I know, I know, I need to get him a kitty bed. Haha. I'm too lazy to make a tree too, to tell you honestly. My dad's real good with wood so I might convince him to do the work for me, and that'll be the extent of my work in the project. Haha. Or I could ask this guy friend that I'm eyeing to help me out. What do you know, a possible daddy for Kaimi? teehee

My cats got a new cat tree about two months ago not that they needed a new one as i had one for each cat already and not small ones by any means to i bought them a nice new one with two ladders a hammock and two hiding boxes they love it (even if one latter has already met an untimely end)They get new toys and cat nip every week and they even got a treat of a new cat grass as the bird seems to have stolen there old one. oh and my old girl is going in for her first chiropractor appointment next week which i'm hoping will help her out a bit

well, I've had to get a new tree about every 5 years, you can't see the eyebrow window but its about 2 feet above the top level, that's why we like a tall one in that corner, so they can get in the eyebrow window that I had an extra wide sill installed so they had a place to lounge!

I live in a basement apartment so i made sure to get a bookshelf that fit right under the window they have about a foot and a half now they can lounge on and look out they all love it

Nothing...Any time we get anything for them besides food they completely ignore it. Give them a scratching post & they go scratch up the side of my wooden toy box instead. Give them one of those balls in the hoops things & they'll be swatting around a rock instead. They'd sooner climb a regular tree & get on the roof of the porch than a cat tree. I guess they're just more creative & can find their own toys.

I'm sure my cats would find other things to do if we let them outside, but we won't

Well that's good. Alternative could have been that they totally ignored it....

That's a super duper deluxe tree huh? I'm thinking about getting one for my cat but she doesn't need the big one. A couple of 'stories' would do for her. Since she's the only cat, there's no rivalry for a top spot. Did you get someone to make it for you are buy it already made? The old one certainly does look well used. Looks like they'd done a lot of claw cleaning/sharpening. The most I've done for Allie is set up a bed for her in one of those wicker baskets that you get for laundry. I've got a folded towel in the bottom and she uses that to sleep some of the time. She has to be in the same room where I am all of the time, so mostly she's resting right at my feet. When I go to bed, she has her own pillow next to me on the bed and she pretty much stays on it during my sleep time. Only rarely am I out of her sight line.

the new one is in the corner, the rest are two older ones - now they have a whole row of play space there and the food is on the counter next to the old cat tree and outside the door flap is the cat porch, or play pen as we call it.

I love that cat tree! I so want to get another one for my two since my daughter broke the two tier one we had buy leaning on it too hard. My cats have scratching posts and my husband did build them a big one but I don’t have the heart to tell him that it keeps on toppling over! I think I’ll save my pennies and buy them a beautiful new tree; they are expensive though aren’t they?

I got my cats something like that and after the novelty wore off, they didn't go near it. I even wiped catnip on it and they still didn't care. Most cats would have loved it! I thought they would like to climb on the different levels and be able to sit in the sun but as usual when it comes to mine, I was wrong. The window sill isn't wide enough for them to sit on so they really couldn't sun themselves.

I don`t have any pets, sadly. :/ I like the names of your cats though, lol. They must love you for getting them that cat tree. You should upload a video on youtube of them playing or something. Cat videos on youtube are very popular. =3

This is beautiful, truly an inspiration for cat lovers everywhere. I wish I could do the same for my cats, but they're really old now, and also overweight. I wonder if they would play on it?

Last year I started making homemade cat foods, and combing the two boys a lot. They are livelier, healthier and have no fleas. I will have to step it up again though, because they will be out a lot more with it being warm. They climb their own trees. Two of my three cats like to swing on the porch swing with me as well, finding me if I go out to the swing and joining me.

That's an awesome tree! Where did you get it? Seriously! I LOVE it! And I know my cats would love something like that but I can't find one with different levels of platforms like you have there. My cats would be doing the same thing yours are doing, checking it out and making it theirs. lol You're such a good kitty mommy! You really are!

We tried a kitty condo for our kitties but they didn't do much of anything with it. They prefer to lounge around on the furniture. But I suppose if it was as tall as yours where they could see out the window they might enjoy it. I haven't really gone out of my way for them in some time outside of going to the vet when needed. But I did order a free sample last week of cat food for them to try.

I have a smaller cat tree in my room for my two cats. They like it so much. One of my cat always stay at the cave of the cat tree while the other one looking and scratching into the cave to let it out. The other thing they like play with is a mouse toy tied by a line. Cats like bite and grab the little mouse toy when I take it in front of cats.
