Hi friends,
Yesterday, I just took a snap of 80 years old lady. Her smile was very genuine. I never knew her and she doesn't know me. But still she gave a very genuine smile. After looking at that picture, I thought to asks you for your views. Have you ever took a snap of someone, where you could feel the real smile.
And Do you believe that smile depends on beautiful face?
Waiting for you views.

No, Smile does not have anything to do with having beautiful face. Many of beautiful face do not smile happily. Happy smile is related to a happy heart, not face. That's why I wrote in my profile that beauty is everywhere: in a small kid who is dirty but happy playing kites, in an old fisherman who worked hard till all his face are lined but he is happy catching foods for the day, in an old woman who is sleepily selling vegetables early hours in a market... Beauty is not just a face.

Thats right. Yes, being beautiful is not the criteria of being happy.

What a bunch of hooey! Smiling makes a face, any face, more lovely. It uses muscles you don't other wise use. It gives you a lift. Kids are genuine in their smiling and other expressions. If a child smiles you know it comes from the heart and is full of joy and emotion of the moment. It really does.

Yes, Children can be your teacher. If we observe them, we can learn to live life at its best. Smile is one of the best lesson, but this time I have learned this lesson from the old lady.

Well ,I have some similar experience. One day some months ago,I rode my bike in the street in Hangzhou ,when suddenly there came something wrong with my bike.So I had to stop to rpair it myself for it happened on my way to my company and there was no rapairing shop nearby.I was worried about being late for work, but still had to repair it .When finishing it ,I found both my hands were covered with oil. Then an old voice came from my back:Young fellow, take my tissue.I turned back ,and found an old lady waiting for offering her tissue .I could not forget it forever.

Thats great. You know, life gives us many chances to enjoy and feel the happiness around us. What you have felt was such a simple thing. But look at the effect of that. It remained in you mind and became a unforgettable experience.http://www.mylot.com/o/rss.aspx

A smile just needs to come from the heart to have appreciation. Beauty doesn't have to be the reason for a smile. anyone has has ability to give or receive a smile. Appearance has nothing to do with it,. It is the emotion behind the smile that counts.

The most attractive face can be the ugliest if it does not have a true smile. It takes absolutely no effort to smile and it takes a great deal of energy to frown. So no I don't find a beautiful face to be attractive at all unless it has a true smile.

Yes, its very easy to smile and I feel very amazed why people fail to give genuine smile.

I believe all smiles are beautiful. They definitely make other people smile. Genuine or not. That smile you witnessed must be very beautiful and genuine if you can look at it and feel something. I havent encountered that myself yet, but I`d like to. Smiles are great though. Smile everyone.

I think a genuine smile comes from the heart, a smile often get called an instant face lift, I don't think one has to be beautiful to give a beautiful smile, a smile from the heart with a sparkle in the eyes is naturally beautiful especially on elderly people..beautiful.

Thats right, actually, everything comes from heart. Smile is the most beautiful things of all of them. And thats why it is the best thing.

I think that it is quite the opposite. A face without a smile is often very ordinary, even ugly, but can be transformed into a thing of beauty by a smile.
It has often been said that it takes many more muscles to frown than it does to smile. Actually, in spite of the fact that many people have researched it, nobody has really come up with a definitive answer! Perhaps part of the reason is that people in different parts of the world smile differently and use different muscles.
Faces of people (especially elderly people) who smile often generally acquire wrinkles in the places we associate with smiling and so, very often, have a permanently 'happy' look. I always find such faces (and so the people behind them) more attractive and more approachable. Does that make them more 'beautiful'?

I think you will find more genuine smiles from the heart when you look at the elderly and the very young. It is not about beauty but about showing the heart through the eyes. It is really nice that she would let you take her picture.

Anyone can give a genuine smile, but in truth today it is sadly lacking. People in society are more viscous and evil and don't care about smiling. Maybe there is not enough to smile about, but we are getting harder. There is more hate in society when there should be love. Jesus was love and He had a wonderful smile. We can learn much about Jesus.

Smile doesn't do anything with a beautiful face ...Smile itself gave beauty to the face if its possess the real smile from deep within. Smile can make face shine when smiles naturally without faking that smile on the face it adds beauty to a beautiful face too. But there are face that look normal and simple but bearing a good smile. There are beauties doesn't posses a real smile though..
Happy myLotting!

I also believe the same. I have seen beautiful people posing for photo and give a fake smile. I think its not hard to be happy and give a genuine smile.

A genuine smile makes any face beautiful. This, no matter what age the person, or whether the teeth are crooked or missing. When a person smiles at you genuinely, you see the inner beauty radiating, not really the outward physical beauty.

Some people I believe give off a sense of happiness . They radiate it kind of like how if the sun has been beating down on the pavement all day it radiates heat. If she genuinely is happy then its no mystery why one could feel it. A lot of aerobic instructors believe that when your working out with other people who share the same energy that you will get twice as much accomplished then if you were working out alone because you were both somehow sharing energy and feeding off of one another. I would like to think that the same could be said for happy people. I feel down if I am in a room full of sad or angry people, but if there is someone there to laugh with chances are those sad people will eventually start laughing with ya. There is some studies of happiness that have been starting in colleges in the U.S. Its more than psychology because it does take work to be really happy . We all have some kind of standards to what makes us happy and usually its just more "stuff" we can never have enough. I think once we realize that all we need for happiness is to enjoy the world we live in, the world is a much happier place.

Very well said. I believe that at all stages and phases of life we yearn for happiness. In everything and in everywhere, we search for the happiness. But when we start believing that its things and people who makes us happy, then we start losing it. Happiness is within us in huge amount. Once you realize this simple truth, life would be the perfect trip and the world will be the best picnic spot.

In my family doctor's waiting room, one little girl came close to me and looked at my face and smiled, the most sincere smile I've ever seen, and suddenly the world felt a little brighter. The only smiles I hate are those who show you your teeth by habit, not even realizing they are doing it.
