Keep advertising wanting cats, yet they do not look after the ones that they have, let alone get their cats that they have sorted, so they cause more kittens in our area. This person has already got rid of cats that were kittens when they got them to a local cats home. Not only that they are over run with cats in a council property. The best bit is the map even shows where they live, oh my the council and the cats home would have a field day.I hate cruel people that put their cats that they are bored of in cats home.I will be speaking to the lady called sarah at the cats home as well now, as enough is enough.

I would report them to the animal protection people. That is just idiotic and irresponsible. When I was young my grandmother had alot of cats and she always took care of them was responsible for them. We had the vet bills to prove it too!lol I would hope that something can be done about them.

Well i think that there are alot of people that are getting fed up of this person asking people for kittens and i also think that this person has not got a clue how to look after cats in general.I think that we must have shares by now in the vets, lol, as we pay our vets bills and we go to the vets regularly for things, like wormers, flea stuff and jabs, that is with out anything else, also all our cats have been chipped so that if anything hapopen to the we can be traced to get to them fast and be reunited.

Maybe this person is sick. I mean psychologically so. Do you ever watch that Hoarders show? I used to and it was sort of sad. These people are compensating for people they have lost in their lives. And it is very hard for them to take of the animals. Ya, those chips are great!

I am not sure what you are referring to, unless you mean like some people we have had in my town. They so love cats and have ended up hoarding them. It wasn't until enough neighbors complained that the city and health dept. stepped in and made them get rid of them.
Are you from the United States? This is the first time I've heard spaying or neutering called sorting.
I love cats, and would love to have several around myself...if I could. Affordability in feeding them alone would be my major problem...let's not talk about how much it costs to take animals to the vet so that they are properly cared for.
We have one cat, and one dog. Both are neutered and up to date on their shots.

I am from the UK and we call it getting a pet sorted, lol. This person keeps getting kittens and when they get bored of them as they are growing into cats they go and get another kitten and have been known to dump adult cat at a local stray cat rehoming or rescue place. They are only allowed to have two cats in a council house and they are supposed to look after their pets that they have, not like you say keep hording them.I have 6 cats and i also have other pets as well and just like you i know how much a vet bill costs, after all i think i should have shares there how much i spend at each visit.People like them lose interest in the pet when it gets to a year or so old and then get more.

IT's not just that particular person, but most of us, humans. We tend to get bored with the things we have, yet we want similiar things, only difference they are new, younger and better looking.. lol =D It's useless for u to report him because he can say that he's too busy in taking care of them, while a few days later of whatever when he's free, he decides to adopt a new kitten again. After all, people will be more than glad to give away

Sounds like these people want kittens and not
cats. Same as they prefer kittens as they are
so cute but want to get rid of them when they
are grown up and need more care and attention.
People like these are better off with stuff
toys than pets. Report them to
the authorities.

I think that they should bring a law in so that people have to pay for a cat to be chipped or get a fine, perhaps that would stop people like this carrying on doing this kind of thing all the time, also they could find out what people are selling the cats to who.People who get rid of kittens when they become cats, are really heartless people and i think that other people that help them are the same and i bet if people were to know what this person was like as well as how the cats and kittens are treated noone would want this person to have a kitten off them.

Report The Home to the Local Animal Abuse Authority to be Investigated. They got to many Cats or Kittens that Look Under Fed and the Home is Dirty. Then that is Abuse of Animals and a Hoarder of Animals. They take in to many Cats and Kittens and They Think they are Doing What is Best for the Cats. But They are Doing more Harm than Good.

I do not know what the inside of the house is like and to be honest, i have heard so i would not go in there just to confirm it.lol.They must know that they are not doing the best for these cats as they keep them out side in the rain, snow, etc, also they are not treated for things like fleas from what i have heard, so no worming treatment id doubt either. If you love cats you do not get rid of them when they are adults and replace with yet more kittens.

After taking cats to the cats home, the first port of call was the cats home as they are the ones that also are the ones that gets the cats off people when they get bored of them. The cats are out in rain, snow etc.The excuses that people use to hand their cats over to places like cats homes are rubbish, as no sooner do they get rid of one cat they get a few more kittens. Now that is cruel.I use to help this woman at the cats home where they use to be, before the cats home moved futher away from me, so i know what excuses people use as well. Some people use excuses that the cat pees or poos every where, other people use my child keeps putting cat litter in its mouth, then there are the genuine people that end up homeless through no fault of their own and have no choice.

I am sure the person has been reported for this befor, also the cats home are the people to tell, as they will still have the excuse on their paper work when the cat was handed over the last cat.I am sure that this is worth reporting to your council, as they do have to check houses as well.

I am sure they have been reported, also that there will be alot of other people that will be discusted to think that this person wants even more cats. Its not the fact that they have broke the rules, but it is the case that the pets this person has they do not want to spend time with, or buy food for, interbreeding can easily happen. The cat that ended up with this person taking it to the cats home, had kittens and not all of them got rehomed one got killed in the road the others were also outside in the cold. Then there were other kittens that are now grown to cats and they are also out in the cold all the time, meowing to go in.None of them are micro chipped, id doubt the vet has seen all of them either from day one, or when they have been ill.

I love cats, but I to become frustrated when people dump or leave them here .. because of the same reasons. I love caring for them.. but they have to be outside all the time as my mom is allergic to them.. and I have asthma so should not have them indoors anyhow.. I love my kitties though but I have witnessed myself how dumping one male, and 6 females can quickly explode into a population of 32 cats and kittens that was the largest my cat family was so strange all born within 2 weeks of each other so we had 6 stages of life all at the same time.. But, ya know what.. I think also around that time my cats, and myself was the happiest creatures to walk the face of this earth.. never mind the cat claw tatoos all over my face from making them all swallow their worm pills, cleaning their ears weekly and treating them with flea and tick prevention.. Thank G-d Mr. Handricks gave me money in secret for me to buy my cat supplies to care for my kitties.. He once was the richest man in the US.. that was pretty neat.. I did not know it.. I just found out from my sister I was related to him through adoption lol.. interesting huh .. well take care.. cats need to be loved and cared for .. by someone like me that never lets them go till they take their last breath :) ..

I am the same as you.I have 6 cats and have always had that amount, in the past we had a few strays as well.I get to the stage where as i get fed up of people not wanting to even feed their own cats, also cats also like to be flead and wormed, other wise they give it all to the areas cats and that just is not fair on the other cats or the owners, then there are cats that do not get done, so they also breed with other peoples cats. All it takes, like you say is, ensuring that if people have cats that they should look after them rather than getting more that will end up the same as the other cats.

This sounds as if it is a case of people who want kittens and not cats. I have known people that used to say they really loved kittens, but not cats, but those people usually have enough sense not to get any kittens then. I hope you can get something done about this.

People that get kittens, know that they grow into cats in the end and that is when they are cats is when they get very bored of them, i think people use the kittens as a show piece. Also people just let the cats breed when they are still only kittens, then those kittens breed and in the end they can not find homes for them. Then they get rid of the mum cat and go and replace it with a kitten.I know that there are a few people out there that know not to give certain people kittens as they will not look after them as well as they will not have a perminant home.

It sounds like this lady needs to be banned from having cats if she is just going to be breeding them and putting them into a cat's home. This is unacceptable in a normal society. Some people may thing they are doing a good thing, but this is anything but good. What can be done to stop it from happening?

Something needs to be done about this, as this is now getting beyond a few cats.I think that some people chose to ignore the fact what they are doing to pets.I hate seeing as well as hearing that people are taking cats to the cats home, yet the next thing you see, as well as hear, from people who live near this person, is that they have got yet another kitten, then another and another.

Hi Antiquelady, you are right there.Shame that some owners like them are not put in a home with wire for windows to see the outside world.I have worked in a cats home and you can hear cats calling, wanting to get out and wanting their owners. In one way i think that the cat is in the best place, as it is getting fed and cared for, which is more than it was getting, also all cats in cats homes are made a fuss of.If i was in better health, i would help the cats home, i use to love it.

Maybe you should try the Humane Society or what even animal society you have were you live. These people should not be owning any cats if they aren't taking care of their own and keep asking for more! They sound very much like animal hoarders! I hope something can be done for those cats! Those cats should not be that situation!

I think people like this should be reported and i have reported a person for this.Council tenants have to abide by rules, rules are there for this reason, this is one of the reasons why they are only allowed two cats not more than two.Where as home owners can have more cats, as it is their property.I have also noticed the same person keeps asking people for kittens all the time, yet the fella do not even want the cats indoors, let alone buy enough or even some cat food for them.

I know i think that it is really bad that there are people like this about.I mean my husband always ensures that all of our pets have more than enough food, also treats them when he go shopping, buying the cats fish and when at the butchers in town getting the dogs bones, as a treat, he is a softy, lol.I also have found a great site where we get pet food delivered and they are great, try pets at home, they are free delivery and i buy bulk, you have to spend over £29, where as i spend at least £50 each time.I just make sure that i have a friend here to get the door, as well as move all the food lol, the man that delivers asked if i was feeding bears, lol, so you know how much stuff i got for him to ask that.

I wont not even waste my breath on a person like her, lol. No more than anyone else that is getting fed up with her.I think that there are alot of people that are feeding not only their own cats, but also her cats as well, which is a expense on its own for some people, thats with out if those cats have not been treated for fleas or worms, as even though most people treat theres, it is obvious that they do not bother treating their cats.I do love cats, as all they ask for is care, abit of effection, food, drink and warmth, my children have all been bought up with pets and they are also pet lovers.

Wow!! This is a sad thing for sure, and not right for the Cats. Is there not a way you can enforce having some of these Cats removed and getting some of the cats fixed to prevent some of these problems for sure? Here in the US we have places you can report such a thing like this for animal cruelty etc. but then again it does not ever mean anything is really ever done.

That is terrible and cruel. People are so thoughtless. I have a friend who works in an animal shelter. She gets so frustrated with all the people who dump animals. Some people just have no concept of responsibility.

Some people don't deserve to have animals they are living creatures not somekind of accsessory and only people responsible enough to care for them properley should be allowed to have them. They sound like a family that live in the same town as me who have about 30 cats and kittens in a council property which are allowed to rampantly breed, and the poor neighbours get a garden covered in cat excrement as a result.

Lol, probably know the same person by the sounds of it.People like this drive me nuts, but i think now they should think before getting more, as in the end they will be in a position where as they will not be able to afford their pets and if one of them got seriously hurt i am sure they will not have insurance on the cat or should i say cats to pay the bill.I think people like this will end up in a position where as they will be made to sort their pets out, as well as get them sorted so that they do not get other cats pregnant in the area.

Sadly it does happen in some homes like this. Some people do not realize the actual responsibility they have with a pet. Owning a cat/pet is like having a family member, so not sure what people think about when they first get them because they like children need proper care and nurturing and some later say they can't afford it and easily be rid of the cat/pet.
Sad these people do not see it that way. I currently do not own a dog/cat because my building does not allow it, and my apartment is small and my thinking is even if they allowed it I could not give my pet the love and nurturing it deserves so I prefer to hold off. If only many thought the same. *sad*

I could never get rid of any of my cats no matter what.I mean they did not ask to be born, let alone ask us to be their owners. Its a bit like a child, when it comes to cats and kittens.I am at home all day with my cats, they are for ever pampered, spoilt not just by me, but by all of us in our house. They are all nice and friendly cats.People who abandon their cats for no reason, are not people that i would want to have anything todo with.

IN my mind, i'm thinking that person just wants kittens. As kittens are cute, it's fun to play with, and they are a joy to look at. As kittens grow older, they are more troublesome, with all their mating calls which can be irritating. I don't see that person being a cat lover at all, if not, he won't be abandoning them when those cats grow old.

Since last three weeks i see so many kittens moving around our home, some i saw on the roof, they poo here and there, i don't like at all, i contacted the health officer of the municipality, but they said they can't help, one neighbor is equally disturbed, annoyed, he says he will give poisin in food and give them, i don't like this idea..
thanks for this discussion
