i know it was a stupid thing to do, walls are hard and fist are no match for it. i know it was a crazy thing to do, punch a wall that don't do anything bad to you i know it was a bad thing to do, get yourself hurt for some nonsense reason i know it was a stupid question but have you ever tried to punch a wall? i was wasted and wounded last night i got drunk and i punch the wall a couple of times it was my way to express my feeling and to loosen up my anger as well... i know it was not a great idea, when i woke up this morning my head aches like hell, got a hang over and my fist really hurts.

I have not to date ever punched a wall, maybe I have pounded and slapped a wall but never punched it. I hope you did not bruise it too badly because it does seem that punching a wall can break a few knuckles. Hope you are feeling better now and ice the hand if there is any swelling, by the way did you cause a whole in the wall?

whoah, i think if only the wall can talk, "IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO?" .... i don't know i don't eat veggies and i'm not that strong, i remember my thin and tiny classmate before she only slap me in the shoulder and i go bouncing of the wall, my friends used to say i'm weak, then how hard could it be my punch i just hurt my knuckles and the wall is still standing up tall and strong and laughing at me

I did on accident. When new people move into the apartment above mine, they somehow forget that THEY NO LONGER LIVE ON THE GROUND; that IT'S NOT THE SECOND 'GROUND!' So if they start tromping around too much up there, I feel it is my duty to show them that their walking shakes the walls of my apartment beneath them. I then try to do so by banging on my walls. But--as you can guess--my walls are not incredibly strong ... uhp! There's a hole!

you were really strong, i may say don't do it again, you can hurt yourself plus you need to fix the damaged wall

Yes, I've tried that. In fact, I always punch walls. Whenever I see a wall I punch it.

aren't you getting injuries for punching the walls?

-open palm through wall -fist many times -knee -foot -elbow -head even(dinted a metal door doing this once) Usually did these when I got angry when something broke, most usually my heavy bag(the chains on those things are just too weak)/I've learned thick rope is a better option)I've gotten my anger under control now that I am older though, so these actions do not occur very often.Meditation helps a lot. I need to get a new heavy bag though, because it is pretty hard to dispel rage just using meditation(when not very educated in that field). I think I am going to get one of those 300 pound ones with a sand filled base-those probably should not break.

why you'd do that? i mean hitting different part of your body into different hard surface? i just did it with my fist and i won't ever try to hit something with my head you can have a head injury and that was very hard to endure

I do martial arts, so I frequently do different strikes with all parts of my body.... I don't worry about my bones- I have conditioned them over the years(the more wear and tear you put on your bones, the more dense and thus stronger they become). For fun I even once took a cheap frying pan and smacked the front top of my skull with it and bent it up- didn't really hurt much at all.

No, I haven't really because I know that I don't have a match for it. I know I'll regret hurting myself later by doing it. When I really need to let go of my feelings and I need to hit something, I just punched at my pillows or my bed. I will still be able to let go of my anger or frustrations but I don't get to hurt myself. Next time if you really need to punch try something softer so you wouldn't hurt yourself. I hope your hand is okay now.

I guess your drunken state made you a little bolder that's why you had a match with the wall. Sometimes when we are drunk, our brains seems not to be working well so sometimes we do silly things. They have a saying in my country, get your drunkenness to your stomach and not to your head. Some people would feel really brave when they get drunk that they would challenge people for a fist fight. Silly thing isn't?

Oh I really feel yor pain. Anyway when i used to lift weights I also used to punched anything I saw in site. The table, door and especially wall. I used to do it to strengthen up my knuckles. But after a while my small finger started to really paon me. Pain me so much where I could no longer put any pressure at all on it. I felt if I punched atleast one thing more, my finger would end up breaking. Well that was the last of me punching stuff. I really dont think it is work it. I guess if I want to strengthen my knuckles, I better just get a punching bag to do it. That is the only way possible I see to get the job done.

i don't hurt my fist that much i don't go lifting weights and woman is a lot more weaker than men so i won't punch that much enough to break the bones of my finger... don't do that again, punching everything, get a punching bag and punch the hell out of it.

No, I've never punched a wall. For I know of the high risk that i could break my hand, oh and another reason, that I'm actually to scared to lol. I could never see myself taking my frustration out on a wall. I've actually see someone punched a wall before, and pretty much regreted it soon after. So I've learn from his mistake lol.

I guess you boys do that when you are very angry. My husband showed me a small hole in their old house and he said, it was caused by him punching it out of his anger to his brother!

Oh i'm sorry i have mistaken you for a boy, because i know boys do that when they are angry. Nonetheless, i wouldn't want to hurt myself when i get angry, so i would rather shriek and cry when i am so angry.

Yes, I tired to punch a wall. When I was teenager if my mom blame us for doing something, which is younger sister's fault, I don't say a word, i just go inside my room and punch the wall. One time I remember we have renovated our house and there is an excess hollow blocks, I punch also that thing. Like punching the wall it releases my stressed and tension. But, of course, doing such thing, I realized that I only hurt myself .

i've never punch a hollow blocks before, it feels like very rough and just by looking at it it was really painful, unlike walls, walls are smooth but hard

Hello there, I read your other discussions and I feel that you're really disappointed and hurting. Well, its okey to burst out in anger but don't take it all on you. Your only hurting yourself that way. Keep your cool a bit, take time to think things over. Its not your fault.

I punched through lots of walls when I was younger. I learned to control my anger better after having to repair them enough times. It's particularly bad when you completely knock the studd out the back...

To tell you the truth I do punch the wall since I was a teenager. This was happen when I angry with my brother due to some misunderstanding. I don't want to carry my fish to my brother. That is why I punch the wall and not feeling any pain then...but in the morning I wake up. I feel so much pain my arms and see it bleeding...

Actually I did a couple of times. It was two different walls, composed of two different materials. An actual wall in the house does tend to sting a little bit. Of course, I do think that if I had tried to punch it with more force, I likely would have broken a few bones in my hand. That would not really be good times to say the very least. A stone wall on the other hand, hurts. I mean really hurts. When I did it all of those years ago, when I was a foolish, naive child, I busted up my hand something fierce. Stone and skin are not really a good mixture as I found out the hard way. Will not be punching walls any time soon, unless I have completely lost my mind. So never doing that again I don't think.

Hahaha I'm not that stupid to punch the wall, I might injure myself and spend my hard earn money just to heal treat my injury. I don't know with other people why they tend to punch the wall out off frustration. I know that the wall is harmless and people punch the wall out of their frustration because the wall wont fight back to them. This is what I call "Displacement" hahaha.

I havent punched a wall but I have punched a locker, made a loud bang. It may be a stupid thing to do but it's better than punching a person. For me it helped me release anger that had built up. I haven't lost my temper like that again in over 20 yrs.
