None of the New Zealand batters have scored a 100 in the world cup semifinals ( in the last 6) and the only batsman who came close to doing it was Scot Styris.. and not to mention that he fell way too short of the target and so the record stands ... the bad run for the New Zealand batters continues in the world cup semis..

thats interesting bit of stats.Today Styris scored 57. Maybe this is the reason why they lose their way because we need exceptional players who can win matches at the knock out stages. Good observation. So ifd new Zealand has to win it must produce exceptional players.

Styris scored 57.. but he took 77 balls to score those runs.. that was really vital and I could not quite understand the way he played Murali's over before just getting out.. There was 3 more overs left and he was defending the balls and looked like had no intention to score of him..

I think that is one of the main reasons why they have never made the final despite featuring in 6 semi finals. I think if New Zealand need to go to the finals this time around they need to bowl and field out of their skins. Else they will end up losing semi finalists again.
Cheers!

Well, the kiwis have lost in a World cup semi-final for 7th time. Not something a team can easily accept, but this is the truth.
