A sanitation work in WI. found $1900 attached to a desk in a city scrap heap and turned it in to police. Now over 90 days has passed and no one has claimed the money. What should be done with it? Hi! I think the man who found the money should get it. After all, he didn't have to turn it in in the first place. He should be rewarded for his honesty.

I couldn't agree more! I also believe the man that found and turned it in should give it. His honesty should be rewarded!

I think that he should get it too. How many people do think would actually turn the money in?

The person who turned in the money should get it (isn't that what normally happens?).

Yes, that is what usually happens, but for some reason the town is debating what to do with the money.

I think the worker should get the money. If no one claims it, the worker should get the money.

Someone else suggested we copy and paste this article to craigslist.com to get it more attention.

shame on all of those who said anything other than turn it into authorities. we have nearly lost morals, ethics and values in this country! I hope all you parents are teaching these lost art to your children.
turn it in, if it isn't returned to you, well so be it, it was never yours in the first place! although it would be lovely if it was given to the man who turned it in.
maybe we could petition the city to return it to him, thus helping a fellow man!

Yes agree with all the man should get the money. But unfortunately, I live near Appleton where this all took place and do know the city. If you knew the city you would expect them to do this and keep the money. As the article says the man said he did not really care. If the city does not want to give it back I am sure the man would not mind the money going to the homeless or a good cause and not one of the cities. There is a few organizations in the city in Appleton that feed the poor and sure could use a few extra bucks to help out at this time of year.

I understand all of that and if the man said that he thought it should go to some charity that would be great.

I think my opinion is the same as most everyone elses. Let him keep the money. Honesty like that should be rewarded.

He definitely deserves a reward for his honesty. The money should be given to Chrity and the authorities sholud shelve some money and give it to the man who shunned his desires to turn in the money.

Well he could have not told anyone and just kept the money, but he did the honest thing and turned it in, and considering the time that has passed I THINK HE DESERVES THE MONEY. That poor man, he should have kept it....sometimes honesty doesnt pay, huh!!!

The money should go to the man who found it and turned it in. The City should be ashamed for even considering doing something else with it.

I think it should be gave to him by now. I don't know why they are debating that fact. Its been long enough time frame for someone to claim the stupid money.

I thought that in a typical situation like that, the person who turned the money in received it. In all cases like that, that is what happened. So, most certainly, the man should be rewarded for his honesty. That is rare these days, especially with an amount of money such as that.
