Beautiful days

It's about 8am. The sun is shining brightly and the shadows are still long and deep. The birds are singing and there is a gentle breeze. I look out one window and I see the leaves on the trees in the park just across from me moving and glistening in the bright sunlight. There has been a heavy dew and the air has a certain crispness to it. The storm last night has made everything clean and bright.
When I look the other way, my nanny goat Tulip is munching on the bale of hay I got for them yesterday and Pickles is sitting nearby, chewing his cud. My dog Lucy, is stretched out, sleeping in the sunlight. It's my favourite time of day and my favourite time of year as we head via Autumn into Winter.
I have nowhere to go today and nothing important to do. Life is good.
How is your day shaping up?

It still surprises me to read that you are transitioning from Autumn into Winter while we are in Spring and it will be Summer here soon.
I really love the way that you described your morning. I was right there with you seeing, feeling and smelling everything, and it made me feel a sense of calmness, peacefulness and happiness. Thank you for sharing that with us as it was a beautiful glimpse into your world!
We are gearing up for more storms today with another threat of tornadoes, so we are on watch. We are getting prepared just in case, especially since we lost power for over twelve hours yesterday night and this morning. It really scared the little one, especially since the lightening was so bright and close together and the thunder was so loud it actually shook the entire house ... she cuddled up next to me despite the heat and humidity and said "Mommy, please keep me safe".

We survived the storms for the past two days, but the forecast says that we are in for the same sort of weather throughout the weekend. Here it is a holiday weekend, and many like to camp out. It is dangerous enough inside a house during these storms, but I really do worry about all those people inside tents and even campers as they as definitely not as stable during high winds. It does not seem to have stopped many people from filling the campgrounds, though ... that is the ones that have not been flooded from all the rain.
I am very much looking forward to having the kind of weather again that you have described here. When we do, you can bet that I will be sitting there enjoying it and thinking of you and hoping that you are enjoying yours as well!

While you do your housework my friend, life is passing you by. Take some time to look around and see nature's gifts surrounding you. Take some time to reach inside you and find your joy - if only for a moment. I hope your next new day is peaceful and happy. Brightest blessings to you.

Sounds wonderful. I have been having a lazy day, puttering around the house. Didn't have to go anywhere today, its my day off. I did some laundry, played some on the computer. Made some homemade chili, yummy. Our weather has been chilly, its springtime. Looking forward to when it warms up. Just had a bowl of moose tracks ice cream. Take care, happy you had a good day.

If I ever had to share a house with someone I'd like it to be you because I think we would get along famously together.
I went to make some Anzac biscuits yesterday and found some mouse poo. We are experiencing a plague at the moment. Of course, all proceedings came to a halt as I pulled stuff out of cupboards and washed up and disinfected and wiped out said cupboards. Days like that make me glad I have a small kitchen.

That does sound like an idyllic setting you have there.
Yesterday at around the same time here, I was getting my kids ready for school and it was fine, but we had showers through the day as we have had all week. Just when it looked like fining up, it would then cloud over an d rain again. It has just gone 8am here now on this beautiful Saturday morning, but they are predicting more showers. Just the same as it has been all week.
I was ready to respond to this an hour ago at 7am when I heard someone at our door. It turned out it was the delivery driver from our international freight company, so I had to rush out and help to unload a pallet of boxes which I just got put away. We had no idea that he was coming as we were expecting him on Monday.
I was in the office in our garage, but my wife was still in bed. She thought it was an emergency from a neighbour or something, so she rushed out of bed wrapped in a sheet, falling down the stairs and spraining her ankle along the way! By the time she got to the door, I was already talking to the driver and she cursed obscenities out the door about being woken up and hurting her ankle!
I think our nice day has just been ruined as she will be in a foul mood all day now and will want to have her ankle looked at!

Oh gosh! That's what you get for not staying nekkid! Seriously though, I hope your dear one is not in too much pain. Use RICE...rest, ice, compression, and elevation.
I think the world is aware of all the rain QLD is getting...it's an ugly mess in the bad areas I reckon.
Best wishes to you for some lovely Autumn weather ahead Bill. Hugs to you.

No rain at all today...has been beautiful!
I love the weather at this time of year, it is generally not too hot and not too cold, just right like baby bears porridge!
She is coping alright with it...seems like the damage is not as bad as she first thought.

Well, we are going into Spring here and on March 30 we got an inch of snow! I hope it won't affect my flowering pear trees. The weather here is getting better and it's a lovely morning.
I like it best when I get up just as the sun is rising and the birds are waking up. It feels like I have the whole world to myself.

Oh Dragon! YES! that was exactly how I felt yesterday. I felt that I just had to share it because it was much more than I needed once I had my first impressions.
It's Saturday now so less traffic...not that there is much in any case. There is a guy way over the road (and the park) using some power tool but that's ok. My wind chimes are gently tinkling in the soft breezes. It's sunny again and not too hot. I'm so lucky.

Hi bon, sorry, but I rarely go to FB. I just don't have the time...too much to do, . I'm trying to appreciate this now because before long it will be very chilly in the mornings. The good thing about Winter is not having to mow the lawn (weeds actually) and lovely cool but sunny days. . It'd a quarter of the way through the year already...it sure goes quickly.

Hello intakt...that's a lovely avatar you have...is it your pet?
It's all a question of how you look at and see things I guess. Cloudy, rainy days can be beautiful too. Although if you have high humidity along with the rain then that can be a bummer and uncomfortable too.

Sounds very relaxing. I had a beautiful day yesturday. I went outside to perfect weather..not too hot and not too cold..and stretched out lazily in a lawn chair...the kind that you lay in....I had the cool breeze dancing across my legs and the sun warming my heart. My little dog Eva was laying with me at my shoulder..she is very tiny and fits there just right. The birds were singing softly and I remember thinking...Spring is here. I am thinking of trying a to enjoy a similar day today...but I am thinking I have places to go..lol..I also have a few things to get done first.

That sounds so lovely Jen...I can almost see the butterflies flitting about. Back when I lived in Queensland I used to put my sun bed in the backyard on Sundays and read. It would be the time of year when even though it was warm and sunny, I still needed to dress warmly. My two dogs would sit under the bed and at my side and I would read to my hearts content. Those days I was working very hard doing full time and also looking after a man and a house. I was fitter and much better organised because to take time out like that meant all my chores were done. LOL.

I wish it was more of a beautiful day where i live. i guess it's all in the way you look at beauty. Right now it is snowing outside. To some people that just might be a beautiful day, but i am more than ready for warmer weather and sunshine to come my way.

Well overall living in the Seattle-Tacoma area of the US, we have had very few actually Beautiful nice days where there has been Sun or temperatures about 60. Most of this yr has been a lot of rain, and much cooler temperatures than normal as well. We actually are wishing someday it would warm up.
But personally for so many it is weather that determines your mood, and day when personally it should be you who controls it. I find my life to be Good even though there are some changes needing to take place. But I am the only one who can help change this.

So true my friend. I have little affirmations posted around the place like..."If it is to be , it is up to me" and "You must be the change you wish to see". I also probably drive people nuts when I preach positive attitude, healthy thoughts, smiley faces, but don't worry, I am my own worst enemy.
The thing is though....I DO try and that's half the battle.

Well, now it is 8:20 p.m. and I'm winding down.
I ran to the store for Maggiepie and I made a couple of phone calls I needed to make.
I am winding down for bed and we've had another beautiful spring day.
The roomie and I walked after she got off work, and we will try to do this until it gets too hot or it rains. (I also picked up some cans.)
I walked also on Tuesday, but Wednesday is cat litter day and I figure that's enough exercise for one day!

It started out cloudy, dark, and gloomy. I felt so depressed. But, fortunately, when it got to the afternoon, the sun came out brightening the streets and the city. That was like a blessing making people feel so delighted after those cold freezing and gloomy days.

Hi greenline, I haven't noticed you about before.
We've been experiencing some very hot weather and no rain so the other day when the day dawned dark and gloomy, I was delighted. Thoughts of curling up in bed with a movie gave me even more pleasure but I tackled some chores which the lower temperatures made much easier. It rained a bit too, dumping a good quantity of water onto the thirsty garden.

So far in my area of the US, we're having a nice spring even though it rained a bit. I hope that you do enjoy your autumn and that you all do not have the type of winter that we had. Northeast US is still in winter mode, I understand from the news. Snow deep enough to have to shovel is forecast for that area.

Hi yoyo - we don't get snow here, in fact, I've never even seen snow. We do get very cold temperatures though. I am lucky enough to have a lovely wood burning heater/stove though and I make good use of it come Winter chills and the place becomes quite cosy as a result.
Here's hoping the summer months with warmer temperatures come quickly for you.

LOL, Sydalg, I am older now and don't move around too well. Gone are the days of playing tennis with friends, or badminton or shuttlecock or even ping pong with my kids...you did give me a laugh and bring back some memories. Hope you had a lovely time.

I forgot to mention Sydalg, welcome to myLot. The same goes for you too donghaixing.
I'm sure donghaixing, if you get everything done today then you will be able to relax tomorrow. Meanwhile, take a 20 minute power nap, they do wonders or drink some water. That helps when you are feeling tired too.
