It is so difficult for me to speak in english, it makes my tongue twist and I stammered at the same time. Actually this is one of my big problem. It takes me along hour here in mylot just to comment and respond to some discussion. I am thinking what I need to write carefully and checking if my grammar and vocabulary is right. Is there anyone here that have a difficulty in writing and speaking in english?

Hi axlrate Well for speaking you have to do it at your own but I believe your written english is quite better than many people of my state. I can suggest you get some online dictionary and if possible a software by the name wordweb. They are great to find the meanings of words. To speak better english, well, two things - Have the confidence to speak in English, and second try to speak in english with people who are close to you and will help you - some friends have a bad habit of making fun at other's learnings so if you have any such friends, do not speak in english with them. And lastly, if you have the wish(or desire), there is no one who can stop you from knowledge. I have realized it many a times and so can say this with confidence.

Makes me happy and thankful that my responses are found to be useful You can PM me anytime if you are not to post your queries(at times the Guidelines play a role when you start a discussion)... For such, you can always PM me... I will try my best to provide you with what I have. Have a great time.

Thanks for the BR dear. Hope you are having a great time learning Spoken English. Hey why not consider doing some course (these are normally 2-3 moths Part time courses) that can help you in overcoming the limitations... and when you are with trainers, you can always learn better. Here they cost about 600.00 to 1000.00 INR for the 3 months courses.

I think you're doing very good in your English so far, especially for living somewhere that it is not native or a lot of people speaking it. You would not believe how many people live here in Arizona and cant even speak a word of English. I understand its not their native tongue, however they do not even try nor care if they can speak it or not. I give you much respect for wanting to learn another language that your not even required to learn and you're doing great! Keep it up it just takes time as with anything, practice makes perfet.

No problem axlrate7 I mean what I say and respect you very much for learning. Its hard to learn any language unless that is ALL your around..thats how I picked up Spanish was when I moved to Arizona and my first job was at a Mexican resturant. I always knew the basics but I do understand what you mean when they will make fun of you when you practice but dont pay them any mind just laugh it off and ignore them. You are bettering yourself and it will pay off for you..even help you make more money in jobs being able to speak two languages. Dont give up and thank you God Bless You Too!! :)

There is nothing wrong on trying, at least you are giving your best to express what you feel in your discussion. I am also having difficulties in speaking in English and keep on stammering whenever I spoke but remember the saying, "practice makes perfect". I am still trying and practicing to be fluent in English because I wanted to and also you can try reading some books it will help you a lot.^_^

You post is quite all right. Fluency in English is simply practice. Keep reading newspapers and magazines. Practice speaking by reading articles in front of the mirror.

I think you are ok with writing in english my friend :) Sometimes I too have difficuty in checking my grammar and vocabulary however, with continued practice in typing and thinking of english words, I think we will be ok. Also, if you have time try and read books like novels in english, this will help you with your vocabulary. In speaking, if you have a friend who has english for a native language, engage in conversation so that you will be practiced too :)

you are not alone. i, myself, i think, is not good in english too. i just tried my very best to respond to a discussion and clearly show the idea of my response. actually mylot is my training ground to practice my english. they say, 'practice makes perfect'. so i make it a point to respond to discussion almost everyday just to practice it. and as of now, no one commenting on my response that they dont understand what i am talking about. so i think it is a good sign that my english is good =D

Before, I had a difficulty in speaking in English and I was so conscious if my grammar was right. But I learned to realize that it's only in the Philippines that people are very conscious of grammar. I met a lot of foreigners and they are not conscious if their grammar is right or wrong. For them, the most important is you can understand each other. They even appreciated our jeepney and taxi drivers and other common people because they can speak in English even just a little. If you're in the other country, no one will tell you that your vocabulary or your English is wrong. So friend don't worry. The most important is you're able to transmit your message. Don't mind of your grammar.

Count me in. I've been watching Youtube English tutorial lately just to practice myself with the American accent. I wanted to speak it fluently. This is because i did apply for an agent, gone through the hiring process, passed the initial interview, and missed just a point to pass the verbal exam. I wanna nail it next time so I better look for ways to learn. :/

Yes, your'e right... I use mylot as my training ground for my english vocabulary and writing. I want to be good in english, because many people here in philippines is underestimating you when you can't speak well in english. But don't get me wrong guys, Pilipino are kind people, it's just I experienced some that are so arrogant because they can do speak it well. I also can't get a job because I always failed in the interview. If I only study it harder before on my younger years... Well, I am trying hard now... Thanks azuncionne for responding... GOD BLESS YOU!!! :)

Hi, I think 60 to 70 cent crowd have the same problem including me. First requirement to improve english is that one need to have good basic level i.e. from primery level. Second one should found such atmospheare around routin life. Third one also should be firm on such determination and so on..
