Japanese Sphitz puppies are so cute and fluffy, so I got 1. I even tried to treat him like a son, so adorable. I kept playing with him 1 day and carried him and ooppss, down it poured all over me then i got wet. But that's not just my problem. After we gave him his food, the worst just happened. The odor was so disgusting even after I cleaned it up and he's even playing with his own poo. What exactly should I do then? :/

Hello Jemilane and welcome to myLot!
You didn't say how old is your Japanese Spitz puppy.
You have to establish some realistic goals first. You must know that until the age of 5 months, a puppy can have accidents inside. He's like a little baby, he can't hold himself for long.
They say a puppy can hold himself the same number of hours as his age in months, plus one. For instance, a 2 months old puppy can hold himself for no longer than 3 hours, a 3 months old puppy can hold himself for no longer than 4 hours, and so on.
You can't expect to let him inside for 8 hours without any accident.
Dogs have some moments of the day when they need to pee and poo. You must know those moments and, when the time comes, you have to take the puppy to the place where you want him to do his duties and wait there until the job is done. When he's done, congratulate him gladly.
Here's the moments of the day when you should take him to the toilet:
- the first thing after the dog wakes up
- a few minutes after each meal
- after a play session.
If an accident happens, don't punish him. Take him into another room and clean while he's not there. Otherwise he might think it is some kind of game and he will keep peeing in the same spot.
All you need for now is patience. If you love your little dog, the few months will pass overnight.
Good luck!

I'm one with you, my friend. I understand your situation. I've been a dog lover ever since I was 7 years of age. I've had a Japanese Spitz since 1994. Currently, we have three females Japanese Spitz.
They are well fed (not with dog food though cz they hate it much); they are regularly bathed; they regularly have their teeth brushed at least twice a week; they have frequent and regular visits to their vet; they are complete with boosters and shots; they sleep with me and my wife at night as they warm us from the freezing cold night; and needless to say, they were toilet trained!
It's so simple. Like a parent, you have to train your pup. Talk to it as if it were a person. Show it the place to defecate and urinate. Provide a litter box if necessary. Never ever scold nor beat them since they have feelings too, as they are man's best friends. Patience will drive you to success. It might sound difficult at first but joy will soon fruit out as a result of your love, care, and concern for your pup.
Enjoy and have fun with your pup. =)

take him out on regular intervals. Especially after eating and playing and first thing upon waking last thing before bed. If an accident should happen in the house the best thing to do is to take the pile and place it outside where he's supposed to go. Then they learn from scent where the approperate place to go potty is.

Well when my 2 dogs were puppies I had to put newspapers on the floor and I kind of knew when she was going to use because she starting turning in circles and sniffing in the same place so i hurry and pick her up and put on the newspaper. But she was very stubborn. My other dog was more intelligent when he was a puppy I put newspapers down and he just and I should him a few times newspaper and put him on it and he got the drift and every time he needs to use it he goes on the newspaper. You have to be patient with some of them and teach them right from wrong.
