Hi santos mari chris: I've done this. It actually don't help but it gives you the fake sensation, when you are feeling impatient, that you are doing something to make it move faster. So you are not the only one my friend.

Sometimes I do if I'm nervous! I like to get in and out of an elevator as quickly as possible.
I once temped at an elevator repair company and we got a call from an elderly lady that was trapped in one. She was so scared. I felt so sorry for her. It was a couple of hours I think.

Yes, I do push the elevator button more than once because the elevator in my campus is unique. You have to select which level that you wanted to go on the outside off the elevator. Then the screen above the button will show which elevator you should take in order to reach your destination. Usually I push the button many times because I am late for the lecturer. Haha.

I don't think it makes it any faster, but I do it anyway. I am not sure why. I guess it is from being bored or impatient. There is always the chance that the first time didn't work!

I do! I think it's pyschological, you think that if you press it again, it makes it more urgent and that it will arrive quicker. You wonder if someone else is pressing it on another floor and the lift gets to them first instead of you, so by pressing it again you make sure the lift remembers it was you who pressed it first! I also do this at road crossings as well, even though the light is on that it's been pressed I will still press it again if it is taking ages for the traffic lights to change.

Yes, I tend to do that even though I know full well it doesn't make any difference. I have found that out when I pushed to go to a floor, released I wanted a different floor, but it was too late, the elevator took me to the floor I first pushed and then I had to push again, once it stopped! _Derek

I have been known to pus the elevator button more than once. Sometimes i can get a little impatient waiting for the elevator to move. i know it probably does me no good, but it is just a force of habit i guess.

Ssssssh...i always did that. My first job was on the 28th floor then before reaching my floor i will press all the button going down so whoever take the elevator will have to stop at every floor. But i got the idea because someone did that and i like have stop at every floor before reaching my office floor. You brought me that playful feeling again, tks.

I press the floor and the close button together for a few seconds ;) Then you don't stop if anybody else presses. You don't even stop on a floor that was pressed before yours! So you can be sure to go directly where you want to go ;) I think this "trick" is for police or ambulance to get as fast as possible where they want to be but I'm not sure.
