Hi MyLotters, I am here enquiring how to increase MyLot reputation. I have seen that after posting 100 comments you will get a star and according to your reputation the colour and number of the stars will increase or decrease. How do you know what makes your reputation added or subtracted ? I have seen a friend of mine has posted only 166 comments and got a reputation of 95 and 10 stars. Quite amazing! Please share your views here. Rating comments help here ?

Read this http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx and then this http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx Your reputation is based on how other users rated your discussions (started/responses/comments). The more plus you get, the higher the reputation. To increase your reputation, read the last point in the first link provided. As for the numbers, it is the percentage of all ratings you have received. 95-100 = 10 stars 90-94 = 9 stars -- and so on. Happy Lotting.

Does ratings and rankings affect our income here ? I mean if you have 10 stars will you earn much more than those who has 5-6 stars ?

Yes, ratings is factored in on the myLot earning algorithm. That is why it is important that we use the rating system responsibly. It is sad that some members are using it the wrong way and just trying to bring down someone's reputation. Oh...and when we abuse the system, it has some way of coming back to us too. Abuse it too often, admin will notice it and delete account.

Then what should I do ? I am always trying to post quality comments. Should I rate others ? Will Ratings others help me ? Do you check your posts again after sometime ? How do you come to know that someone has responsed to your comments ? Any notifications ?

I would look at what that friend is doing and do the same thing, as it is working. These rating numbers do not reveal all of your participation, for instance, you will notice that Zralte put lots of comments and a response on your discussion, but the numbers of posts did not go up. However he will earn well because he is making positive contributions to the community. He is not focused on whether or not he is earning, he is focusing on enjoying the site and helping others to do so as well. If you have a low star it may be because you have not been rated at all. Your percentage is related to the number of positive (+) marks you get compared to how many posts you have. I imagine you will contribute more and find yourself with a higher reputation as time goes on.

hi rafelnada love your avatar. rating comments will help us all but do not get minus crazy as we are not to minus anyone just because their opinion is opposite to ours, or because you do not like this person. plus most everyone as most are trying hard and thats all any of us can do. make quality posts and be nice to others and your reputation will rise and rise as you are fairly new yours will rise more quickly than mine as I have more years here and am retired so have lots of time on my hands respond a lot to others so they get to know you and hopefully as they respnd back they will remember to give you that nice helpful plus. I will plus your discussion myself every little bit does help.

That I don't care about! Mylot is not a game, like it is to some people! Stop worring about stars and reputation! I see and hear to much of this! So many people get so worried about it,they take the fun out of Mylot! I dislike that! I do my own thing and that makes me happy! I could care less about reputation, stars and rankings!
