I am a hopeless movie fan. I love great stories and great acting. And I am a mean critic when someone cannot act. I will spare here the names of the actors who are pathetic and should have chosen another profession. But whenever I criticize, I also dwell on the thought that I also, if I am an actor, might also be pathetic. I can't act. Can you?

I don;t know about real act, I never tested it. Oh I did, when I was in senior high school I played a role in a church drama. Everyone says I acted well, like a real bi-ch I was in the role. But I do think that even in our everyday life we act. Smile, happy, in love, cry, sad, angry, everything...

You mean when I am reprimanding my daughters, I am actually over acting?

Of course, you were acting at the time as your role is a Mother. Then when you smile and say something sexy to your husband that is when your role change to a Wife... and so on...

That means I am officially changing my contention. I can act! But jenny, I am not a wife, so I don't assume sexy roles! And that is for the best, believe me.

I'm not good at acting at all. Maybe if I would be one I would be more on the sitcom side cause I cannot see myself being serious in this type of job. I'm not good but I know there are those trying-hard in the entertainment world who's worst than me. or us?

The wannabes are always overwhelmed by the angle their faces are best projected on camera that they forget their roles... I don't know why Eddie Garcia and Christopher de Leon put up with these wannabes. But Aljur Abrenica is showing he can act, except that he is being groomed now for lusty roles...

Wow you're really updated with this actors, I don't even know this guy. Well, I guess with the overflowing talents we have they've got no choice but to do such roles. Maybe his built and looks are more noticeable than his acting or they can't really find good roles for him except for this kind. As for old actors like Eddie and Christopher, they are willing to give the chance for younger wannabes to shine just like what they had during their time. Sometimes I wonder where are all the good actors/actresses at the moment cause it's dominated by younger generations, even mature roles.

Hello Eileen, I don't know but sometimes i got a feeling that i can act because i can imitate the person's situation and cried for it. am not sure about humor though i doubt i can be good comedian. besides, acting takes training too, but those people who are in showbiz now a days aren't that unique to begin with. training is still a must, but maybe there should be new twist to dramas and tele novels to see potential best actors and actresses. they're work isn't a joke but i think it needs something new that won't violate morals.

When it comes to Philippine acting, there is much to be desired. In the telenovelas that we watch at night, the actors are either underacting or overacting. Either they couldn't act or they couldn't act. But the roles they assume are just not in it. Want example?

Hi eileen leyva: I love films and I recognize good films and good actor but I am not good at acting because I am so nervous. When I am lying people notice it so easily. I have acted for my school but that's really simple nothing serious. ALVARO

I can only criticize the actors if they can not play their part well but I cannot act myself. Well, I guess, most of us are really like that, we always say something to make things right but if we are the ones affected we do not know what to do. It is better said than done so they say.

I can put on an act if you know what i mean. Up until 3 years ago i was a manager for most of 24 years and any manager will tell you a lot of the job is acting. For me the disciplinary side of the job involved being steely eyed and very calculating. other than that, i wish i could act. to be in a movie would be superb! i was an extra in a comedy show years ago. i days work, but so much fun!

You controlled your eyes for 24 years so you can assume a persona that you are made of steel? Gosh, that would turn me into steel. Another gosh! I hope you are all right now, warm and buddy-buddy to all your family and friends.

I really don’t know coz I’ve never tried it out. At some level, we all need to act somewhat in our personal lives, it is inevitable. But to consciously act in front of so many people, according to a fixed script and also try and become a completely different person, is difficult. Yes, there are good and bad actors but they all have the confidence required to act in front of strangers…from this perspective, I don’t think I could ever have become an actor mainly coz I’m hopelessly shy in front of outsiders. Just in December last year, our office went for its annual picnic and a part of the programme was an impromptu dance jig by the ladies with a snippet of a particular music played by the guys…it was fun alright and everybody was enjoying themselves but when my time came to perform, you could say that I developed legs of stone! I was so shy and conscious yet these were people from my office and their families…all of whom I have known for the past 12yrs at least. And then again none of us were professionals there and everybody was laughing at everybody else…yet, I was most reluctant to make a fool of myself.

You love to laugh at other (when they are dancing) rather than giving them chance to laugh at your dancing.

Hi eil! Look! It is always easier for us to criticise anyone or say any actor. Every actor cannot be perfect. There would be some who would act brilliantly and there would be others who will act mediocre. Those who do not perform 'well' and are not liked by the viewers will parish soon. Acting is an art, it is not as easy as it looks. If you ask me and give me any situation, I would say - "I can act". When in my school/college, I used to take part in plays/stage activities. . Moreover, we are are actors in this world, where world is the stage and we are the performers. We act in different role of child, brother, sister, cousin, mother, father or friend.

i suck at acting. I could remember way back in high school when we have this drama and role plays, i really cringe during those days hahaha i would often volunteer to just be the narrator or write the script or do the props rather than act. I hate acting, i do not like the center of everyone's attention. lol

Well, I can tell that you I SUCK. I have been considering taking an acting class, not to become actor. Well, I don't have what actors/actresses have. .... I am curious though - you should mention which are pathetic....

your post makes me laugh. well, like you said, it would be better to watch films which has good actors in it. those films which do not have good actors but with good story can be dealt with, but of course, it would be best to watch films which has good story and actors as well. I guess, i would say, i am like you. I do like watching anything, good story or good actors, but still it's best when you have both. I also can't act. I even have acting presentations with my classmates back in school when i am still studying. and i would say, i am not good at it.

I think that in high school, kids tend to get the jitters when they take to the stage. It takes a lot of approving remarks for a person to gather enough bravado and assume roles. Perhaps we are some of the ones who were not noticed, thus we never pursued acting....

I can't act too. I'm someone who expresses my thoughts outright. I don't like to hide my feelings because i don't see the need to. Much as i tried, i simply can't do it because there's this urge in me, waiting to explode, showing my inner feelings. It's not easy to be an actor or actress because they are always playing so many roles, and they need to get out of it fast, in order to prepare for the next coming one.

I'm a member of a theater club when i was in High school. I can say that I can act. It's really embarrassing if you watch a movie with the actor who cannot act. Some actor was part of a movie not because they can act, but because they have a beautiful face.

Spare me but I do, I can act entirely under the assumption that I am a different person in certain character, it was in high school where everybody wants to act I my self have a hard time sinking in the characters although that was not for a major motion picture and just a class act but it was great!LOL I do not really mean at all. But why act when you can just correct and maligned just like in a reality show.

Acting is actually presenting what is real on stage. Reality shows, I suppose, simply extended the small stage into a bigger arena, the world. The world is really a stage.

I always thought that it would be easy to act, but once I tried it, I realised how hard it actually was to remember the words, especially while there is a camera in front of you filming every second! I made many mistakes and then realised that it takes a lot of hard work or a lot of talent to be able to do it well. I will stick to being an extra for now with no speaking parts, but I am hoping to be able to do some courses soon so that I can attain some skills that will hopefully get me some high paying speaking roles.

I can't. I recall during my school years that whenever we have plays, I always turn a serious scene into a comedy. Yes, I can't act but I can see a pathetic actor or actress. You may disagree but an example for me is the son of Cesar Montano . The boy got the looks but I really hate his pathetic acting.

Yes I can act, but never know if I'm good. It's hard for me to cry and let my tears fall, i tried it once when there's no people around the house.

I can't act either. Every time I memorize lines, I always forget them at the crucial moment. Even really simple lines. I guess I just freeze up from the pressure. I think the whole method acting thing sounds cool. But I would probably end up like those people who really believe they are their part. I mean that's the point, but I wouldn't want to go crazy.
