Sachin should play the next world cup. The current form of little master makes this possible as he is playing with such a ease that even a format like 20-20 doesn't show any hint of tiredness on his face. He has worked on his game every time when the need arised and has prepared himself for such a fast game incredibly well, His performance speaks that. If Sachin cut-down playing test matches and concentrate on playing only one-day 50-50 game he can surely be the part of next world cup. Of course at the end of the day its his call. Whats your opinion friends.

"And they lived happily ever after......" the end of all romantic story. And we want to read something like that even in case of Sachin Tendulkar. But my friend this doesn't happen in real world. I am not a big Sachin Fan but I respect him as an fantastic batsman and would love to see him play for India. As far as his playing in the next world cup is considered I don't see much of a chance of that happening. Why? because of the following reasons.
1. His body is not the fittest. We have seen even in the past that his body is prone to injuries. Playing for the country for 21 years has taken its toll on his body and now his body takes longer to recover from injury/fatigue than it did 10 years ago. In another 4 years its only going to get worse and so his fitness for a long tournament like the world cup will be a doubtful factor.
2. He has already won the world cup so the motivation to be a part of the world cup squad is not as big as it was for this world cup. Considering that the next world cup is being held in Australia/ New Zealand I don't see India defending the cup against teams like SA and Australia. So I think Sachin will want to retire as a world Cup holder than as a also Won player.
3. A true cricketer always holds test cricket over ODI and T20. sachin would want to prolong his test career and he would sacrifice his ODI career for the same. And He should because we need him in the test team more than in the ODIs.
4. The ever changing sport of cricket has evolved more in the past 10 years than in the century before that. And in the next 4 years we don't know what new changes will come in the sport. And young players seem to be the right choice for the newer formats and changes.
I don't feel anything more needs to be said on this topic. Sachin, A great player he is but even the greatest of the great have to say Good Bye One day.

Let us suppose Sachin does play the next world cup. we will have the likes of Bhajji,Yuvi.. also playing because they are close to him. Laxman will stake his claim too. So you will have a team full of older players and the young Tendulkars who are ready to play at 17-19 will have to wait for the senior pros to retire.
Let us pray for the emergence of world class players all over the world to take over and knock off these older players.Where are the young superstars in their early twenties or late teens? Let us not deprive them off their share of the glory.
Already in politics we have leaders in their 80s and 90 s who are not allowing the younger leaders in their 40s and 50s to domonate and lead, do you want a similar situation in sports too?

I do not think there is a chance of another Tendulakar's emergance in any part of the world.Playing for 21 years and still going strong is not a small feat.Besides Sachin is not underperforming so if any youngster is good enough then he can earn his place from him why should they be given a free chance when already sachin has set such a high benchmark.

You think there is no chance, how do you know someone as good as him or better may not emerge? when Don retired people thought there would be no one to surpass him but his records were broken. Don Bradman is incomparable and so is Sachin. But a new icon will emerge and he will capture the imagination of the world and people will try to compare him to Sachin and many of us will say 'no chance'.
But it is terrifying to think that he may play in the world cup after 4 years while a talented youngster will have to wait outside and simply clap his hands.I don't think that will be nice. It is time for Sachin to move on and he will go gradually because he is in form and performing at his peak.

Looking at his present form, i think it is possible to play for him to play in the next world cup. but for that he has maintain his fitness and he should be in sound mind. This cricket genius is playing like a champion now a days. In the present IPL 2011 he still remains not out in three matches. Incredible man and unbelievable records. He is always a learning student of the game.

Now this is being over optimistic.I agree I cant deny the prospect of Sachin playing the next world cup.It even excites me too.But just think of the man he has been a dedicated cricketer for the last 21 years. Now we the fans must not urge or force him to continue. If he wants to play he can as long as he wants. But as he himself said he would quit cricket the day he feels like not playing. We should respect his decison whenever it comes after all what else he needs to do he has done it all now.His dream of being in a world champion team is also fullfilled. But wow what if he plays Sachin at 42 playing is may be last world cup in 2015!!!

Absolutely friend, what a day it will be, but lot depends on his fitness because his desire to play cricket is eternal, He will play even at the age of fifty. As far as his achievement is concerned he has made some records which are quite impossible to break or will take several decade to be broken. He has achieved enough but its the love for game what has kept him playing for so long.

Yes I think Sachin should play world cup 2015 because Sachin is not a human he is like a god of cricket and he can do anything in cricket if he can make a double hundred in one day internationalcricket and century in IPL then he can do anything. According to Gilcrist Scahin can play world cup 2015 so I am positive about it that Sachin will play and I will pray to God for his wellness because I love sachin very much and I dont want to see Indian circket team without Sachin Tendulkar.

Hi Dear ajp! Yes, I too agree that Sachin is in excellent form in this IPL and it won't be great thing for him to maintain this form as he is a dedicated and determined sports person! Inspite of having so many records under his belt till this person plays cricket as if there is no tomorrow for him and he wants to play all the cricket today itself!
He is still a runs making machine. At this age also he has the capability of putting many young players to shame by his superb ground fielding! His style of bowling aways fetches a wicket or two at the time of crisis to Indian team!
With so many good qualities and since the player is becoming younger and younger as the time passing, why shouldn't the 'God of Cricket' play the next World Cup? I wish him all the best! Thanks for the discussion!

I disagree with you my friend on this. I think he should retire from the short form of the game. I think he can continue to play IPL for some more time. But at the international level I think he has achieved everything there is to achieve. But I think he needs to continue to play in the test level for some time as the Indian team now needs him more in that form of the game.
Cheers!
Ram

Sachin is a great player and he is an one of the legend in cricket. My personal opinion is also, he can play in the next world cup and show as an example even in the old age can play shots like youngers and the youngers who are in cricket should learn his accuracy, hardworking, achievement etc. No one can beat his full records in cricket game (may be sachin's son). My another expectation from him is, he should win 20/20 match world cup 2011 and prove he is also one of the brilliant captain. I think he will definitely do this and be an example in the cricket game. All the best to Sachin and to his mumbai team.

Hi ajp,
This is still four years for the next ICC World Cup. No doubt that presently Sachin is playing with the best of his form and if he continuous his form he could play.
But I personally do not feel that Sachin should not play the next World Cup even though he remains fit. Because he has already lifted the dream cup.
And if he is crowned withe the 'Bharat Ratna' award there would not be question of his playing cricket anymore. You know why.

Yes I too feel Sachin should play next world Cup because he is one of the legend the Indian cricket history has received he is the one of the cricketers who could play all the three formats good.not only for Sachin game but his advice would guide the younger players of India.I think he is one of the cricketers in the world who have hit the best bowlers of the world he is still young and I want Sachin to play the next World Cup and win that also.He would b just 41 years when the next world cup is played I hope he would Play the next World cup.

With such an form and class I must say with all other Indian fans of Cricket, Sachin must continue to his final world cup 2015. The living Legend shouldn't end his career within a few years. He if goes on another 4 years then the Indian Cricket will see a strong base till the World cup begins. The NO.1 team would be what India will stay if this man of class and real elegance of game play stays.
Lets just hope he will be there for India with Virendar Sehwag as his opener to win India their 3rd World Cup.

Well at the time the next world cup comes Sachin will be nearing 42 years so that's tough ask it will depend on his fitness and how injury free he can stay I think he is unlikely to continue playing cricket at that stage and performing so consistently has he is now
If he can stay fit and maintain level of consistency and have passion than why not but i say its unlikely him play next world cup
