Paying off student loans quickly?

August 8, 2011 will mark the end of my long-awaited educational journey. I enjoyed meeting new people and learning valuable information while earning both my Bachelors and Masters degree. However, I am not looking forward to repaying almost $30k in student loans. What is the fastest way to pay down student loans without moving to the poor house?

I can certainly understand your pain. I am just finishing my undergraduate degree. And my loan is just under 15 grand. I am lucky, as I am a Canadian student studying in Canada, which is less expensive, and some of my loan was turned into a bursary. So I have been lucky. But like you I'm not looking forward to paying it down. Plus my husband is in the same situation. The best advice I can give you is to find work and budget for everything. When using a budget, it has helped. It hasn't always been easy, but it has helped and I do think that it is worth while to try out.
