Cookie story...

So I was baking cookies today with the little one and I heard a banging ion the other room. I told her to finish stirring and I would be back in a minute. Well the baby has figured out how to climb out of crib onto my bed and there she was shaking baby powder everywhere! I of coarse cleaned that up and by the time I got back to cookie making found the other one kneading the dough, not with her hands, no she was making the cat (who lets her do anything to her) "help" and was kneading the cookies with her paws!. I asked "what are you doing?" my response was " Don't worry I washed her paws first!" said in the most seriously innocent voice ever...sigh, fed that batch to the dogs. We'll try again tomorrow as I ran out of sugar. There was nothing to d o but sit down and laugh then explain why the cat shouldn't help bake cookies

It crossed my mind too late unfortunately. I just felt bad for the poor cat! She's a good girl and lets the kids do anything to her but she didn't seem to like what was going on.

Kids will be kids. I enjoyed your story. Is that some of the daily stuff that happens around your house? They can be so innocent can't they? And how cute of her to wash the cat's paws first. SHows she's thinking and has a mind of her own. And baby powder was so much better than other things she could have been shaking all over your bed!

Oh it could have been much worse! I was glad it wasn't the diaper cream. My basement is flooded again from all this rain. Powder I can shake out, outside cream I would have needed to wash and I can't use it while it is surrounded by water. As for the older one I was thrilled that my constant "wash your hands before you touch food" was being "taught to the cat" as she told her Dad later!

It´s a lovely story, but I´sd be crazy with so much help!I´m glad you have a good sense of humour plus lots of energy. I congratulate you! I can see you should be running for the mother of the year. I never made that with my daughters

I commented your beautiful post in another post. I thought it was worth reading it. It not only has humor, but a lesson of love. It seems your grandma is a wonderful lady. You have a blessing there!

Thank an Irish Grandmother for teaching me to see the humor in everything that happens in life. She thought this was hysterical and tells everyone!

That's just priceless LOL!
Kids are so precious at that age, and they never fail to amaze me with their logic! A lot of times, their logic makes so much sense you begin to wonder why you didn't think of it.
I think a large part of why we laugh at things like this is because to kids, their view of the world is so simple and so straightforward, taking the simplest approach really is best lol.
At least she washed the Cat's paws first lol!

Lol! Anything with kids is an adventure. My daughter who is 8, recently put the bathroom mat into the shower. We just moved and I bought some new things for the kids bathroom. Now I thought she wld have known since she has used bathroom mats before. In our old bathroom the kids had a shower mat too. This shower dosent need one. Well she thought this was a shower mat, a nice fuzzy, comfy shower mat. Needless to say i was a bit irritated with having more work to do, but also found it quite funny to think of her standing in the shower with a carpet floor.

hi opinionatedlady oh my gosh I am still laughing.I imagine in her eyes that made really good sense. lol. I needed that laugh as I was feeling down . what is it with babies and b aby powder? my son when he wasjust starting to walk got a hold of the baby powder and I caught him just as he doused a goodly dose into his little sister's long hair. oh no wobbie was my call to dash in and find out why they were so quiet.Kids do the darnedest things. Another time I found my son busily cutting all the fringe off one side of my new bath towel and he said very calmlym, mommie it was all unraveled. okay I was angry but then I had to laugh and wonder where he got his vocabulary. he turned out to be a gifted child and is still very intelligent. now it breaks my heart to see him laid off and working just part time when he has years of experience in computer programming but here in Calif he is not alone.oh my way off topic. So
tomorrow will be a new start on the cookie making and hope you have much better luck. I am still smiling. love those children wow.

After I posted this she was explaining herself to her Dad about how she was teaching the cat to be a good girl and wash your hands before you touch food. At least I know my lessons are sinking into that head of hers. No cookies got made today though. We did get Easter bread and cheese cake made though. Have a Happy Easter, at least as best as you can.

Hi. OpinionatedLady. Wow! This is some cookie story here. You handled this mighty calmly, if it was me, I would have probably lectured my little one about how risky it is to have a cat knead the cookies with it's paws. I hope that you were able to make more cookies the next day. I also hope that you will be able to have more sugar too. Enjoy baking!

No I was too worried about saving the cat. She is a good girl and would never hurt the kids but the look of help me on her face was so sorrowful I just had to save her right away!

Hahaha, what a cute story! That must have been funny trying to explain to your daughter that cats shouldn't help with baking cookies, moreso, kneading the dough!

That is totally awesome! I just got my 16 month toddler here with her momma who is expecting another in 3 months.
I will look forward to having stories like this LOL
I remember getting my son a playdoh set when he was about 4. it was a pizza maker one. So you were supposed to squeeze the playdoh through to make the shredded cheese.
We had a couple of mice for pets. he got the idea to put the mouse through the shredder...that WAS a mess to clean up!!! then he cried because he realized he could not play with the mouse anymore...it had went to mouse heaven!!!
