Who is Judas in the Bible?

You may have heard the new Lady Gaga song called Judas. I was raised a buddhist, so I don't know much about the bible. Can anyone explain to me what is the significance of Judas?
In the lyrics of the song, she says:
I couldn't love a man so purely,
even darkness forgave his crooked way,
I've learned love is like a brick,
you can build a house or sink a dead body
i'll bring him down,
a king with no crown

Judas was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus, who betrayed him and sold him to the authority.
I don't listen to Lady Gaga. so I don't really know the song and how she made the connection. From the few lines you have written, the song does not seem to make much sense.
