Hello Friends :)
Yes I am doing that. But I am not talking about copying content and discussions. I am talking about writing style.
Before mylot I have zero experience of writing in online sites or offline work. So during my starting on mylot I wasn't good at all in compare of my current state. But now I guess I have improved little.
I have to admit that its all thanks to other users and friends here. I always trying to be good in writing on mylot after joining. I used to copy others style (hope you guys don't mind) so I can be good writer too. I had always observed few seniors and others writing style and tried to copy them. But its still not that good.
I guess everyone having its own style. But as i have zero experience of writing something like discussions and because of that mine starting discussions were quite funny due to inexperience. So I have to mix others style with mine to improve.
What do you think about it ... Is it okay to follow others in anywork as we having no previous knowledge about it.. Or we should move on our self? (which can make more messy )

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right?
I see nothing wrong with copying the style of other Lotter's who you admire but try to remain unique too dear friend.
I can see how much you and other friends here have inproved since their first posts and that is yet another added bonus here onmyLot. Keep it up but don't become a copy of someone else

I am trying to catch up with email alerts and came upon this one and after reading all responses and comments I find I would be repeating mysd above. She is absolutely correct.
Day by day I can see many myLotters, including me, improve here on myLot. It is the continual "practice", if we can call it that, which is what makes us better by the day.
I personally have seen some on my own myLot list who have emulated my style and it brings smiles to my face not because I feel I am perfect in anyway but that the member has improved and somehow admires my style.
So I agree with mysd 100 percent! I also agree with mel here too what is up with that 8 and mel's 6 which we can't budge. We will continually persist.
Hello to all.

We always can and should learn from olders or from those who already knows how. First, you start learning to copy them. Afterwards, once you improve your writing, maybe you can find your own style. When I started in mylot, I wasn't sure if I would be able to answer and to start discussions in here as English is not my mother tongue. So I am also learning a lot of English and writing styles from those who already knows to do it well. It's like a way to practise this language and a I like. So I don't learn only from the contents, but also about styles and knew vocabulary (sometimes, I have to search words in a dictionnary)!

A mixture of different styles makes your own one special, difficult to copy. Now, we have to carry on practising our own / personal style to consolidate it.

Hi there..
every person are unique and vivid and they have own style of expression. We may give a look to their style and can give a close look to their writings but coping. No, i think coping their style may lose my own style. i amy not have a good style but i never copy them rather i try to write with my own style reading their skills. have a nice day.

Hi AKP100, Sometimes we get a imitation of others attractive writing. But even our unique style will resemble with others. I would say start your own style even with mess you can slowly improve it. My friend has same problem , but you wont believe she is best than anyone in vocabulary, creative writing. So take ideas from others and follow your own style.

As long as your grammar is good and spelling is perfect you can have your own style of writing. Nice to hear that your writing skill has improved after being here. myLot is a place for sharing. May be others could have learnt something also from you from your topics for discussions, responses and comments on life in general.

Hi akp, well, at least you have the courage to come out and say it. I do too, I mean copying other's writing style. I am not a good writer, nor will I ever be. And I am so scatter-brained that sometimes my writing don't make sense. I'd start off on something and in the middle goes on to something else...things like that.
Being on myLot, reading about how others worded their discussion, I must say, it's really good. I know I probably will never be as good as them, but I think I have improved a little bit.
I think it is perfectly alright to learn from others.

I also have no experience writing online or off line. I just go with my instinct. I am also not that articulate. There are words that even I forget how to spell and have to look them up. It takes education and learning the proper way to become a writer. I do dabble in poetry from time to time. A good writer must have total command of the language. I will leave the writing to the pros. Here on MyLot, I will just continue writing the way that it fits me.

What you are doing is not "copying"! It's just practicing and part of a neverending learning experience. You ought to get better and better over time as every time you pick up a little bit of wisdom on the way.

Hi Dear akp! I think what you are doing is not a copying! We are unknowingly influenced by one or another person or his style of work and we follow the style! This is a process of learning! Once you have picked up a particular style, then you will try to make it ornamental by making it more attractive by adding more impressive words to the sentences! In fact I think writing is an art and one will achieve success in this field with the experience! The more we write, the more creative we can be!
One more thing, I feel to become a good writer one has to be a good reader and should have good knowledge of the language and the words used in it! Knowing more similar words i.e synonyms and words of opposite meaning antonyms , using bit of figures of speech makes the discussion alive!
I feel you have got a nice way of presenting the discussions and I am sure within a very short time you are going to become an expert in this field!Congratulations and All the best! Thanks for the discussion!

hi akp You seem to be improving all the time so feel free to copy my imperfect style if you feel it will help but be careful as I make so m many darned typos. Seriously I marvel at you people with English as a second language. You start very hesitantly and are always apologizing which you don't need to do but soon you are writing very well. I know that were I asked to learn to write and speak in your language without any lessons I would really mess it up. Yes everyone has his or her won style but you also will find your style. Kee p on working here and you will soon be better than ever. good luck God bless Happy Easter

Hi AKP
If I was Anu Mallick - I would have surely said I am inspired in my writing styles from so many people. But no, I am no Anu Mallick. I have picked up the styles too.
Reading and writing will always be inspired by someone or some pattern but when you said - "A Mix of Styles" This is what one should do in real terms if s/he has to make an identity or is even interested to learn.
I am so happy to know that dear akp is taking these things the way they should be taken - for good and improvement.
