Where did you become a person who needs to wear glasses and how did you feel?

I tried to wear glasses when I was about 15. I never have to wear it but just think that it would make be look cool and more mature.(What an immature thought).I thought that if I put my glasses on , I would attract more girls on the street and it turned out it was wrong.Well, after I long time and I am getting old now and also have family as well, wearing glasses became something to help me to see things clearly now because I am no more 15 but an old man who has experienced many things in life already(still experiencing). I wouldn't recommend anybody to wear glasses unless you really have too.Otherwise, it is just not good for your eyes.(well, if you are talking about sun glasses, I won't argue with you.)

I'm a standard! Textbook case! Mid forties - needs a little help reading. Fifty, the reading glasses have got much stronger and now wear glasses for distance too! One eye is totally different to the other. Can't see a thing without my glasses. Need an upgrade every year or two.
Hey, want to see my 15 inch co**? Oh, you'll need to put on these glasses first. (Blind humor?)

Yes, it is a pain to change glasses every year because the glesses for older people is not cheap at all. I would like to change for a new one if I have 4000 dollars in my pocket, it is just not cheap at all. I think everything involves money when you are getting old. Even the health insurance in my city won't cover you if you are over a certain age. I feel that to live in an expensive city like mine, I think I really need to well prepare for my retirement in terms of finance before it is too late. I enjoy my time in Ontario of Canada, that you can have very cheap insurance but better services in there. My city isn't like that at all. Looks like" if you are poor , then too bad "Look at the way people have to line up in those public hosital , you will know what I mean. There will alwyas be thousands of people waiting to see specialist in the public hospital. It will ususally wait for a year before you can see the doctor.Or you can get in to the emergency room and wait for four hours before you can see a doctor. If you are rich , then no problem. Just go to see specialist in a private clinic and they will take care of you right away. What a poor medical system we have and I hope things can be improved pretty soon.

When I was 6, I had surgery to correct a lazy eye. I had to wear a patch to make my eyes stronger and do exercises for my eyes.
I had to wear glasses starting when I was 9. I didn't want to, but I couldn't see without them.
Now that I'm older, I've love to wear contacts, but the special ones I need are too expensive for me.
If I could, I'd go for laser eye surgery and be done with this forever, but that costs a lot more as well.

Hi. wildlittlefan. I agree. I only like to wear eyeglasses, if I have to wear them. I am wearing prescription eyeglasses on my eyes right now. I need them. I have been wearing glasses ever since I was, 5 or 6 years old. When I wore eyeglasses as a teen and a adult, I would take them off of my eyes. I would be so ashamed to let others see me with eyeglasses on. But now, I will wear my eyeglasses with pride! I don't like wearing any eyeglasses that have came from my eye doctors' office.

I started wearing glasses when I was in the sixth grade. I happily wore them until I was in high school when I decided that it wasn't cool to wear glasses so I wore contacts for the majority of that time. Then as I got older, I didn't like the hassle of contacts any more. Then I started wearing glasses again and I haven't looked back. I really feel like my glasses are something that defines me. I wouldn't change them if I had to.

I started wearing glasses when I was 17. In chemistry class I got there at the end so I was stuck in the back row. I had a hard time copying stuff from the overhead projector so I would move forward and sit up front to copy stuff down. Of course it was high scchool and everyone was a selfish so no one would let me switch seats to be able to see. sometimes someone would come late to class so I'd sit in their chair.. but as soon as they got there they would make me move.... teenagers are not very nice people.

I have been wearing eye glasses since I was 9 yrs old. So it means I have been wearing eye glasses for 40 years now! I hated wearing eye glasses and went through a faze when I didn't wear them all day long. So when I had my eyes checked the next time I needed stronger lenses! Back when I was a kid my mom picked out my eye glasses, the frames! How embarressing! I was so shy that I didn't stand up for myself to help pick out frames I liked! Instead I wore ugly frames as a kid! Not a fond of that time in my life!

I had to start wearing glasses when I was about 15. I didn't think it was cool and the kids would some times make fun of me. I've always thought I looked better without glasses. When I got in college, I liked the idea of wearing sun glasses. I agree that I think they are cool, especially the blue ones. Nowdays, when I can afford it, I have my glasses tinted.

I started to wear glasses when I was twenty. Actually I should wear it before. But I didn't know that I needed a glass. If I had worn it earlier I could have studied well and more. after getting my daughter she had started to grasp my glasses from my nose. so little by little I reduced wearing it. But till I need glasses and I have one. But I seldom wear it. your 15 year story is so interesting. It made me laugh.

When i became older , i started using eye glasses. I need them for my reading.
I can't read those small lettered articles anymore, without the aid of my reading glasses. But at least i don't have to wear them all the time.

Hi. I had to wear glasses for short sight when I was 5 1/2 years old. And I wore them till I was able to wear contact lens at the age of 18. After wearing them too for a while, I went in for laser eye surgery seven years back and there has been no looking back for me. I have not needed any glasses till now and it feels great to be specs free! And I don't plan on wearing one just for the sake of looking great. I look great and feel great without them. Now I am 32 years old and am looking forward to living a specs free life for another few years.

Well I was informed that my eye sight is weak when I was in class eight, so when I was like 14 or 15. I did not like it. My parents wore glasses and I knew that I might also have to wear them someday (the genetics story_)
I hated glasses. They were heavy, made me look old and I became self conscious and also suffered from some self esteem problems (yes, I ma going to blame them all on the glasses/spectacles)
It is not fun. Now i use them only while watching T.v. or whi8le using the computer.

I started wearing glasses because I wanted to as well. I was in third grade and I purposely failed my eye exam. It was a foolish thing to do, and I regret it. I now have terrible eyes, and I can't really wear glasses because my nose is so small that they slip down. So I wear contacts now, and it's annoying to pay for them every month.

Maybe it is common for kids to want to wear glasses, because I did as well. I remember on the school eye exam tests trying to fail so I could get glasses, but they knew what I was doing and I never got them. I think this goes along with wanting to break a bone when I was young or wanting to be sick to get out of school. I remember being jealous of my friends when they broke bones and always wishing I would break one, but I never did. My friends would come to school excited about their casts and everyone would hover around and sign their casts! When you get older, it is funny to look back and wonder what kids think when they are growing up! Now that I am grown, I am the exact opposite and am trying to avoid getting glasses. Recently, I cannot see well at night when driving, and I have heard that is one of the first signs of needing glasses. It is getting worse, and I should go to the eye doctor, but I just don't want glasses and don't want to be told I need them!

When I was about 7 years old I did something relatively similar to what you did. I didn't try glasses to attract girls or anything because I wasn't into girls at that point in my life. I just thought I would try them simply because I thought they were cool because most of my friends wore glasses. So as it turned out i faked the eye test at the eye doctors and wore glasses I didn't need for years until I grew into them. Now it seems it is completely opposite of what it once was because now I cant stand wearing my glasses and I take them off every chance I get unless I truly need them. I'm not entirely sure if my eye sight will ever be what it once was but it's worth a shot right? I just thought I would share that and to let you know you're not the only one. Happy lotting =)
