Summer here in our country seems to get hotter and hotter every year. If I can stay all day in water I will, just to keep myself cooled and refreshed. Its also difficult to sleep at night because of the summer heat

I wouldn't say it gets hotter ever year. Last year was actually quite cool, but extremely humid. The first part of the summer here in my part of Bicol (i.e. Early April) was pretty cold. It's starting to get really hot, yes, I agree. However, night gets a lot cooler where I'm from. Maybe it's because of your location? Do you live in the city?

Nope, it's actually more of a province but there are some news that it will soon be converted into a city. I'm here at Laguna by the way.

Yeah there are lots of mountains here but way far from our place...

That's strange, since you're close to a mountain. But I guess they block can block out the rains or something. Anyway, we're flanked by seas left and right. So I guess that helps. The heat's not as bad in Naga City. Sure, its sweltering hot in the afternoon, but some early mornings are actually misty. The heat can take a while to settle in. The nights are always cool too.

I even wanted to take a bath n a tub full of ice.. Even if I go get inside the office that is fully air conditioned, I still feel the heat. And it my savings are also decreasing each day since my throat loves to drink cold stuff and even eat ice cream all the time. Water is just ain't enough. .

I agree, ice cold colas are one of my cravings these days. I have stopped being an addict with it already but I guess it won't affect us much if we take it once or twice a week. Just make sure you drink lots and lots of water after the colas. :)

Yeah, that would be great just to keep us refreshed. Actually I'm kind'a addicted for iced cold cola nowadays....I know its bad for my health but what can I do? It quenches my thirst besides cold water

And I thought the summer in South Carolina was bad! But I can understand what you mean. We are known for our hot weather. Some people refer it to the "devil's arm pit" its gets the crazy. Its just best not to wear jeans in the summer or things could get worst for you. I remember I did that just earlier this week. I didn't think it was going to be as hot outside. When I finally got to school it was like torture. lol

"Devil's arm pit", sounds pretty hot to me Yeah, wearing jeans on a hot season is really uncomfortable specially the tight ones. You can also get skin irritations like rashes on sensitive parts of the body.

Yeah I've noticed, really hot and our electric bill is sure to rise, maybe what we can do is plant more shade trees, I read that a single tree is equal to so many aircon units, it won't only be good for us but it will be good for generations to come

That's really a good idea, actually we have some trees near our house but last year they were brought down by typhoons
• Philippines

that is a good idea louie. let us plant more trees and campaign to stop those who are having illegal logging. Our electric bill is on the rise too, and i think everbody's bill does :(

tv said that last may 26 was the hottest summer day recorded in the Philippines. Well, I dont know because everyday its getting hotter and our electric fans are working overtime just to cool us and then our electricity is going higher and higher and the electric company is happy to hear that consumption is good.

Yeah, while we are sweating out not only from summer heat but also on high electric bills, electric companies are partying out because their collections will surely rise too

yes, they are the ones getting richer because of this weather :( and then when it is not summer anymore, they lessen their rates. I hope they do it the other way around..

Here, we only have 2 seasons, summer and rainy seasons. I hope when month of May comes, it will start to rain so we can cool down a bit.

It sure is hot! I remember yesterday as the hottest one so far this year. I was taking a shower yesterday and I'm still pouring water but I'm already sweating. I like staying up late but I end up waking early too because of the heat. I've been sleep-deprived for some days now so I get a nap in the afternoon to make up for it. I wish we could go fast forward to end summer and the summer heat.

You're lucky because you can take naps in the afternoon. In my case I can't do that because I'm managing our store and my sister-in-law's computer rentals at the same time. So there's no chance to take naps

You are scaring me guys....I'm flying to the Philippines this 1st May, now I can picture what would be my holiday there. My brother's family went ahead of me first week of april and I was told that they covered the windows in front of the house with plywood and installed an aircon as they can not bear the heat. Thinking positively, I will have the chance to sweat out all my body toxins.

It can also burn some fats in your body, but don't stay longer under the sun, you might get some sunburns Anyway, Have a safe travel on May 1st. Maybe by May, the climate will soon cool down because sometimes it starts to rain in May

Wow I do feel for you because when summer finally gets here it is like I want to suffocate. It is still quite cool here and has been raining for almost 9 days. It is not summer here, but when it finally gets here our air conditioner runs constantly because it gets way too humid here. We do not expect summer until later June. It may get a bit warm later May but not too hot until much later. Stay cool my friend because I do know how that feels.

Thanks my friend, I drink lots of cold water (and lots of iced cold cola too) and takes a bath before bedtime but still its really difficult to fall asleep because of the heat. Sad thing too, we only have electric fans to cool us down 'coz we can't afford air conditioner

Same here in the Summer Capital where jackets were once much needed. I guess this is due to global warming as a result of massive deforestation and engine emissions.

Yeah, I've read one of the comments above that even there in your place, summer heat is being felt. So you can imagine how are we doing here in low lands The world is really growing old, hope we can still find ways to preserve it...

It really is hot in the Philippines. Its melting during the day and the rain pours hard at night. It is a contradiction. The thing is, even when it rains, it remains so humid. It just does not fit.

Yep, the heat wave is here in the Philippines. It's super hot this time and we had to turn on the AC unit twice in one day. That, however, gave out high electric bills. I just wish it's the rainy season again. But not those typhoons that gives floods and the likes.

I have to agree. The heat has been a little unforgiving these days. I woke up early today because I was sweating. And it was only 8am. My mom advised me that if ever I'll go out that I should bring a water along with me. It's important that we drink water from time to time just to avoid from heatstroke and being dehydrated. On the contrary, the heat today has been helpful because I was doing my laundry and two hours after lunch, it's already dry. Even though the summer's heat kind of annoys me, I just have to live with it and try to enjoy the season. =)

I totally agree with you. The heat is killing me. This is one of those rare times that I am disappointed with PAG-ASA's (local weather bureau) prediction going the other way. I am usually happy when they predict rain and the sun turns up. But they forecast that we will have a rainy summer and what did we get? The scorching heat of the sun! Wet armpits! Hot heads! Boiling tempers! This is the first time in my life I am longing for summer to be over...

When we stayed in Manila for almost a week just last last week, it was really so hot outside. Good thing, my daughter's graduations were held in posh places where air conditioner is very good. But when you step outside, you can feel the scorching heat. But it's not that way, here in the province. It even rains mildly once in a while and at night it's not so hot yet. The wind sometimes blows cool at night, since we just open our windows , which are anyway screened. Thank God we live in the province.
